7-"A, I know everything " and dinner with the OTP
Alex's pov
It's been a few months since Jun left. We've talked a couple of times but it's all very friendly. We've skyped sometimes even, along with Minghao, and occasionally even Seungkwan or Hoshi joined in. To me, Jun didn't feel like my ex-boyfriend. He was more like the long-distance mum friend, that texts you before college saying that if you don't eat, he will release savage Minghao on you. So it's all good.
Currently, me and Vernon, who seems to forget where his actual workplace is, are in the storage room of the bookstore. Vernon was casually sitting down in a box watching me work, while Joshua was on cashier duty.
"Hey Alex, I've been thinking-"
"That's never a good sign." I grinned at my own remark. It's a known fact that whenever Vernon is thinking about something, usually it's just a random thing that crossed his mind and he felt the need to share, no matter how irrelevant it might seem. That's what makes him so amusing to have around honestly.
"Hilarious. But for once in your life, can you let me be serious? Just for once?"
"...alright, I guess. What's troubling you?"
"Remember when you told me and Joshua about the time you and your roommates went to the cinema?"
"Yes?"
"And Wonwoo said..."
"That he didn't want to me to die, yes. What has that to do with anything though?"
"Well, did you ever thought that maybe, you know hypothetically speaking, he might like you more than you think?"
I froze at that statement. As a normal human being, yes, of course, I wished that Wonwoo liked me more than just a friend. But at the end of the day, I know how unlikely that is. Wonwoo is my best friend and roommate, and we'll never be more than that.
"Why is this coming up all the sudden?"
"Just answer the question, will you?"
"He said that in the name of your friendship. He would have said the same thing to Mingyu if Mingyu wasn't so busy crying his heart's contents."
"But he didn't! He only said that to you! Specifically to you!"
"It's nothing special!"
"It is! You like him for crying out loud, and he likes you too! Hell, he might even be in love!"
"No, he doesn't! And I never said I liked him either!"
"Yeah, that's 'cause you love him!"
Before I could object, Joshua came in.
"Hey Alex, one of your roommates is here. He seems a bit impatient."
"It's Mingyu, isn't it?"
"How do you even know?" Vernon asked.
"Easy. If it was Wonwoo he would be way too busy roaming around through the books."
"Or maybe he would be way too busy thinking about you."
"Seriously Vernon?"
"Just saying. It's very likely!"
"Would you stop that? I still have all the videos of your childhood adventures, don't you ever forget that!"
Vernon stayed quiet, but I knew he wasn't satisfied with the end of the conversation. Joshua, on the other hand, looked completely lost but I'm sure Vernon will fill him in.
I gathered all of my stuff, biding a small goodbye to the both of them.
Why did this topic had to come up now?
___________________________________________________________________________
"How did you manage to get your driving license again?"
"Hey! I'm not a bad driver!"
"That's debatable !"
"The instructor said that, although my driving is not pleasant, technically speaking it's not unsafe."
"Well, let me tell you this! It is very unsafe!"
Honestly, I never actually saw the need to learn how to drive, not to mention the fact that I can barely afford gasoline, much less a car. Wonwoo shared the same philosophy as me, however, Mingyu completely disagreed. First chance he had, he tried his best to learn how to drive and decided to keep his mum old car. Well, I really wish he hadn't done that.
It's not that Mingyu is a crazy driver, the kind that screams at everything and everyone and doesn't know the meaning of blinkers. He's just...well, let's say that I would rather take the subway if possible. It's safer and less bumpy.
"Is there something wrong by the way?"
"Besides your driving, I don't think so. Why?"
"You just look annoyed. Did something happen at work?"
"No. It's just...just something that Vernon said."
"Please do humor me."
"It's nothing. Don't worry about it."
"No! If it's bothering you then I want to know!"
"He just...he said something about the improbable possibility of Wonwoo having not so friendly feelings towards me. And that I felt had the same weird affection for him. It's stupid really. I don't even know how he came up with that."
The car took a very abrupt turn, almost throwing me out of it. Mingyu didn't seem bothered by it however.
"Are you serious right now?!"
"What?" I said, confused at his outburst.
"How can you be so oblivious, even now?! It's been two years, goddamm it!"
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about your feelings for Wonwoo! You know, I've been really respectful towards your situation! I thought you might need a bit of time to sort all your feelings, you know, in respect to Jun! But my patience is running thin, and the fact that even now you refuse to accept that you do have feelings for our slightly emo looking roommate, is driving me completely insane!" he announced, drifting his eyes from the road to look directly at me.
"Mingyu, eyes on the road! I don't want to die!"
"Sorry, but this is frustrating!"
"Mingyu, please. Can we not talk about this now!"
"When can we then?!"
"Oh, I don't know! When our lives aren't in immediate danger due to your driving!?"
"Stop denying your feelings then!"
"I don't know what you're talking about!"
"A, I know everything but why do you keep hiding it? It's written on your face that you like him!"
"Is that slightly changed GOT7 lyrics?"
"Don't try to change the subject!"
"Then don't slip GOT7 lyrics into the conversation!"
"That's beside the point!"
"Oh look we're home!" I guess with all the screaming, Mingyu didn't even notice that we had arrived, so I took the opportunity to get out of the car, away from Mingyu's unsafe driving and from the dreadful topic.
I run as fast I could inside the building but unfortunately I didn't manage to get very far since I ended up running into Seungcheol and Jeonghan.
"You okay there Alex?" Seungcheol asked. I guess seeing me doing any sort of exercise is apparently very surprising.
"Yeah yeah! How are you two doing?" I uttered while trying to catch my breath. I should really work on my cardio.
"We're fine. Actually, we were-" before Jeonghan could finish his sentence, a distant scream echoed from the other side of the front door.
"ALEX COMEBACK HERE, WE'RE NOT DONE YET!"
Mingyu slammed the entrance doors and before he could protest any further, he noticed our neighbors' presence.
"Oh... hey guys! Didn't see you there." Mingyu looked a bit embarrassed, and in other circumstances, I would find it very amusing. But right now, my main priority was getting away from my crazy roommate.
"It's okay! As I was saying, we would like you guys to have dinner with us tonight." Jeonghan excitedly proposed.
It's not that I don't like spending time with those two really. It's just the perspective of being trapped in a room with Mingyu, Wonwoo and other two people, when all I wanted to do was being alone, doesn't seem very appealing to me right now.
Before I could come up with an excuse, Mingyu quickly interjected.
"Of course! We love to! I'll make sure to notify Wonwoo! He will be thrilled, won't he, Alex?" Mingyu turned to smirk at me. I swear, if Minghao doesn't kill him one day, I will!
"Oh, I'm sure he's going to love the news. I mean, casual socialization is his strongest suit!" I hissed, trying to subtly let on just how much of a bad idea that was.
"You would know that, wouldn't you?" Mingyu teased.
This guy is the worst.

Just as I predicted, Wonwoo wasn't pleased with the invitation either. But Mingyu didn't care and forced him to get ready despite the older boy's protests.
Unfortunately, it was way too late for either me or Wonwoo to fake a sudden illness, giving Mingyu the upper hand, not to mention the excuse to drag us to Jeonghan's and Seungcheol's front door. And that's how we all ended up sitting around their dinner table.
The whole night, Jeonghan and Mingyu made small talk, whilst Seungcheol, Wonwoo and me were too busy eating. Of course, Jeonghan drag the three of us into the conversation and, along with Mingyu, gave me and Wonwoo very intense glances as if they were expecting some sort of reaction from the two of us. Whatever it was, they didn't get much from us.
"So...I've been watching this drama recently." Jeonghan declared after stealing yet another not so subtle glance at me and Wonwoo.
"About what?"
"Well Mingyu, it's more of a romance really. It's about a girl and a boy who are too stubborn, or dumb even, to admit their feelings for each other." Jeonghan continued. Seungcheol seemed to realize something and looked up from his food to glare at Jeonghan.
"This is really not the best time to talk about that."
"It's an innocent conversation! Don't worry, Seungcheol! But anyways, I wonder how long it will take them to confess?"
"Me too Jeonghan! If they are as stubborn as you said they are, then one of them probably doesn't even realize how much they love the other!" Mingyu remarked while glaring at me. Sadly for him, I didn't even spare him as much as a glance since I was way too preoccupied with the food on my plate.
"You're right Mingyu! Say, Wonwoo?" Jeonghan called, making Wonwoo looking up to face him.
"Yes?"
"You read lots of books, right?"
"Yeah, I guess."
"Then tell me, what usually happens in situations like this?"
"Well...in most cases, they go on like that for a while, until one of them confesses. Sometimes another person, usually a friend or something, may or may not intervene."
"Interesting. What do you think Alex?" Jeonghan inquired.
"Sounds a bit cliché to me honestly." I shrugged, making Mingyu glare at me.
"Perhaps you should stop watching so many dramas. You get way too invested in the lives of the characters." Seungcheol warned.
"Well, I can't help it when it's situations like this! Don't you agree, Mingyu? Seeing two people who care so much for each other and yet they're completely oblivious."
"Couldn't agree more, they should just kiss!"
This made Seungcheol get up from his sit and nudge me.
"Alex, feel like going to the roof? I think I left something there and I need help to find it."
"Take Mingyu inst-"
"No! I can go, it's not a problem!" I quickly interrupted Jeonghan. No way I was going to let the opportunity of getting way from Mingyu's constant judging looks pass by.
While making our way out, I glance back to see Wonwoo who looked like so betrayed for being left alone with those two.
Once we reached the roof, I let out a sigh of relief that I had been holding through the entire dinner.
"Sorry about that whole thing with Jeonghan. I know you were starting to feel a bit uncomfortable." Seungcheol apologized.
"Don't worry about that. It's not your fault."
"I just want us to talk without having your shippers constantly interrupting."
"Shippers? You mean Mingyu and Jeonghan?"
"Yeah. I really hate to interfere in this situation but...they're kinda right, you know?'"
"About what?"
"Come on, Alex. Wonwoo likes you."
"He doesn't-"
"Look, I'm not going to force you to understand that. I just want you to think about it, that's all."
"I don't know..."
"Just really consider the possibility, okay? You just need to sort out your feelings without having Jeonghan or Mingyu breathing down your neck."
"What if I don't know what my feelings are? Or what if I'm just imagining things that are not actually there?"
"Then you come to me or someone else who knows your doubts. Or you just go straight to the source. Directly to Wonwoo."
"I'll think about it. I guess."
We stayed for more or less an hour on the roof until Jeonghan texted us to come back since the others were already leaving.
When I arrived at our front door, Wonwoo came up to me.
"Is everything alright?"
"Yeah. Don't worry about it." I uttered, not being able to look at him in the eye.
When did everything became so confusing?
