6- Chewing gum morning and it's a sad movie okay?!
Wonwoo's pov
The loud music and the strident singing woke me up the next morning, making me wonder just how soothing my alarm clock is in comparison to whatever was happening. When my eyes finally adjusted to the morning light, I managed to find the source to all this commotion.
Standing in front of the kitchen counter was Mingyu, who was dancing around and singing noisily to 'Chewing gum' by NCT Dream while cooking breakfast. Last night, he spent the whole singing, how does he still have a voice?
Ignoring Mingyu, I started to look around trying to recall the events from last night, when my eyes fell on the sleeping figure of my other roommate all curled up by my side. My arms were around her shoulders and she was hugging my waist. I could feel my face getting red once I realized that me and Alex were practically cuddling on the couch. Scratch that, we are cuddling!
Mingyu noticed that I was awake since he smiled at my direction.
"GOOD MORNING!" his loud voice roared through the entire apartment, waking up Alex in the process. She didn't seem to notice the position we were both in.
"For someone who just broke up with his two-year girlfriend, you sure look awfully jolly." she said still sounding barely awake. She didn't move from her position on the couch, making Mingyu smile even more.
"Well, I realized yesterday, that it's just not worth it! Mina was constantly nagging me, saying the I never had the time for her, which is a huge lie! I spent more time with her, than with the both of you! And we're roommates! There were times that I even skipped classes that I was failing just 'cause she wanted to hang out! Besides, you said so yourself Lexie, I am a total catch! A hundred percent husband material!"
"You did?" I asked looking down at Alex.
"Apparently I did." She looked back at me.
This didn't seem to affect Mingyu at all since he continued to dance around the kitchen still singing 'Chewing gum' without a care in the world.
"What's with NCT thought?" I questioned the dancing idiot that was making us breakfast.
"I don't know! But it's very catchy isn't it?" Mingyu shrugged.
"Their concepts kinda confuse me."
"Life is funny that way. One minute you're rapping about long ass rides, the other it's all about chewing gums and being responsible for six other children." the small voice belonging to Alex said. She still had her eyes closed and her arms remained around my waist.
"Wow, that was deep. Didn't know you had that in you, Lexie." Mingyu teased.
"I keep trying to tell you that I'm a genius."
"Of course you are sweetie. By the way, get dressed you two, we're going out!"
"We are?"I enquired. I really didn't feel like getting out of the house. Or getting up from the couch for that matter. It felt nice to be this close to Alex.
"Yup! I feel like going to the cinema today!"
"Do we even have a saying in this?"
"No! But you can choose the movie."
"...Fine. Is it okay with you Alex?"
"Yeah sure, I'm gonna wash up then." She let go of my waist, making her way to the bathroom and closing the door.
Once she was out of sight, Mingyu turned to me, smirking and wiggling his eyebrows at me.
"So, did you have a nice sleep? You know, with all the cuddling on the couch going on and all?"
"...shut up Mingyu..."

Alex's pov
"Is anyone feeling as uncomfortable as me right now?"
"Yup."
"Very!"
Perhaps we should have gone to get ice cream instead.
Or maybe we should have chosen a different movie.
Romantic films are not a good thing to watch in the cinema due to all the loving and disgusting couples around us. Sadly, we were stupid enough to not consider that!
After discussing what to watch for almost twenty minutes, we settled for 'Me before You', since Wonwoo had been reading the book, and I was curious to see why he had cried so much over it. Of course, we also asked Mingyu for his opinion. After all, he just got out of a relationship and watching other people's love is not exactly pleasant, but he reassured us that it was fine. He also mentioned that the idea of seeing Wonwoo crying over this movie was totally worth it, earning him a smack in the head by the crybaby himself.
Currently, the three of us were sitting on the back of the room, me in the middle of Wonwoo and Mingyu. We were completely surrounded by couples of all sorts of genders. Honestly, the hesitant look that the person who sold us the tickets gave us should have been the first warning sign! And when he asked us if we were completely sure that we wanted to watch that movie! There were so many red flags!
"Maybe, if I switch seats, you two could pretend to be a couple. It would make things less awkward and more entertaining for me at least." I said as an attempt to lighten up the mood.
"If you keep saying things like that, I will not hesitate to smack you!" Mingyu growled.
"Sorry sorry. I forgot you two love each other in the most heterosexual way possible. No sexual tension at al-"
I was interrupted by Mingyu and Wonwoo, who both slapped my shoulders simultaneously.
"Wow, that lovers connection of yours even makes you hit me at the same time. I ship-"
"Alex, keep talking and I'll tell Seungcheol that you've finally agreed to work out with him. And we both know that you wouldn't last five minutes." Wonwoo threaten.
"...okay I'll stop." Wonwoo smirked, knowing that he had won, at least for now.
Meanwhile, Mingyu was looking around the room with a disapproving face.
"This is seriously disgusting. Look at those two! The film hasn't even started yet and they already sucking each other's faces!" he pointed at a couple nearby, who was already kissing like they didn't need oxygen as common human beings do.
This is going to be a long movie.

An hour and fifty minutes later, the movie finally ended. And God, it was seriously depressing!
I basically spent the entire time trying to hold back the tears, and someway somehow, I actually managed to not cry in the end.
The same thing can't be said about Wonwoo and Mingyu however.
Whilst everyone was leaving the movie theater, those two were sobbing like there was no tomorrow, but trying to play it cool at the same time. Needless to say that they were failing completely. I, on the other hand, was attempting to calm them down while trying to also not look so amused. I was also failing at that.
"How did you not cry?!" Mingyu asked incredulously.
"There were so many parts of the book missing and yet it was still so sad!" Wonwoo mumbled.
"You two are going to be fine?" I asked trying my hardest not to laugh at their tear streaming faces.
"No! I'm not going to be fine! That was probably the saddest movie I ever seen!"
"I've actually seen worse Mingyu." I answered him.
"Oh shut up, will you?!"
I rolled my eyes at him and turned to face Wonwoo.
"You okay there Wonwoo?"
"...Alex, you're my friend right?
"Yes?"
"Can I ask you something then? In the name of our friendship?"
"Of course, anything."
"...do you have any sort of disease that may kill you or something like that?"
"Not that I'm aware of, why?"
"You sure?"
"Yes. Why?"
"...I don't want you to die..."
"...Oh my God Wonwoo!"
I immediately hugged him tightly, ignoring Mingyu's whining about his need for ice cream.
This boy is too precious.
