I glare back at him.

He takes a step closer.

"Even the glare looks familiar..." he says and raises a brow.

I force a fake smile. "We've never met," I reply.

"Not even naked?" He says to which my eyes widen. He grins. Goodness I wanted to punch him. I don't think I've so badly wanted to hurt someone before, besides him...

"You haven't," I state as I realize everyone was suddenly giving me suspicious looks.

"He hasn't!" I exclaim.

"I don't know Hestia, your insistence makes you more suspicious," Pete says.

"I agree," Justin concurs

"Concur," Kate quips

"Dude tell them the truth," I plead frustrated.

"And that is?" Helix asks a grin on his lips.

"You've never seen me naked!" I exclaim.

"I haven't?" He says sounding doubtful.

"You haven't!" I reply exasperated.

"Sure, if you say so," he says sounding like he was just agreeing because I didn't want to thereby, making everyone think he has seen me naked. Okay he has, but they don't need to know that! Plus, they'd think he saw me naked for a different reason than what actually occurred! Urgh, I hate him!

"Okay that's enough teasing for today, you're making her nervous. Let's head to the stables," Naz states cutting through the tension. I was eternally grateful as my shoulders somewhat relax.

We all head into the stable. I watch as they walk into various stalls and wonder if they each had their own horses or they were just specific horses they rode when they came over.

"Where's Rex," Naz asks looking around.

"I hate that name," Helix says.

"I know, hence why I named him that," Naz replies

Helix rolls his eyes. "At the back, we changed his spot," Helix explains.

"Are these your horses?" I ask.

"Nah, they belong to Helix but he doesn't let anyone but us ride them," Justin explains. "So, I guess you can say they are ours," He adds.

"Which horse is Hestia going to ride?" Kate asks pulling a horse behind her.

"She'll ride with me, I'm teaching her," Naz explains as the others get their horses out the stable and head out. I watch them as they pull the horse out of the stable before turning my attention to the end of the stable where Helix had stepped behind a door to the right and Naz to the left.

Naz appears with a brown and black horse.

"Meet Rex," he says as he pulls the horse towards me.

"Hi Rex," I say smiling as they approach. He stops next to me.

I watch as Naz strokes Rex. "Hestia have you ever gotten on a horse before?" Naz asks to which I shake my head in answer. "Watch me," he says.

I watch as he mounts the horse.

"Do you think you could do that?" He asks to which I nod. "I could try," I say to which he replies, "Sweet," and mounts off the horse giving me the reigns. He walks over to the opposite side to give me room to get on.

I attempt to get on and lose my bearing slipping. I let out a shriek as I prepare to hit the ground and feel extreme pain but instead feel wet arms wrap around me.

"You're okay, you're safe now," I hear a voice says as I breath heavily. My arms wrap around the neck of the person as I am enveloped with feelings of fear, relief and anxiety.

"Fuck, Hestia I'm so sorry. I have no idea what just happened." I hear Naz say as I lift my head and notice I am in Helix' arms.

"Of course, you don't. You f***ing idiot, who teaches someone how to ride a horse like that?" Helix says pushing Naz out of the way with his shoulder as he walks over to a bench outside and places me on it. He kneels next to me and asks, "Are you okay?" As he retrieves my arms and searches for bruises.

"I'm okay," I say quickly retrieving it. In disbelief at how I'd hugged him earlier. He leaves as Naz keeps apologizing. I close my eyes and attempt to calm myself down. I feel something tap my shoulder and open my eyes looking to my right shoulder.

I notice a bottle of water next to my shoulder and raise my head to the sight of Helix holding the bottle out to me.

"Thank you," I say and reach for the water but pause instead and grab his hands.

"You're bleeding," I say filled with concern.

He tries to withdraw his hands, but I refuse to let go. It was a thin long line as if he was grazed by something. What could do that?

"Did I do that? I'm so sorry!" I say filled with remorse.

"It's okay, it's just a scratch," he says once more attempting to take back his hands, but I notice him slightly wince as my hand slightly grazes it.

"I'm sorry," I say.

"It's cool," Helix replies.

"Yah it's just a scratch, no big deal," Naz says as he'd also come over to take a look.

"It might be a scratch, but that doesn't negate the fact that he's bleeding or that it's bound to hurt Naz," I say.

"But it's little, he can deal with it," Naz says.

"Seriously?" I say actually shocked. "What sort of friend sees his friend hurt and says  he can deal with it," I ask genuinely perplexed.

"Hestia, it's a scratch," Naz says looking at me like I was overblowing things.

"A scratch is still painful and pain even if little is still pain,"  I say to which Helix gives me an unreadable expression as if looking at a maths equation.

"What?" I say.

"You're weird," Helix says adding,

"That's okay, I'd rather be weird than uncaring when someone is hurt,"  I say to which he stays silent. Naz looks as if he wants to say something, but decides to instead shut up.

"Do you have a first aid kit I could use?" I ask.

"It's behind the door," Helix says pointing to the door. "I'll grab it!" Naz says and hurries over.

"Finally, he makes himself useful," I say to which Helix chuckles. I glance at him.

"What?" He says.

"Nothing, you should laugh more often," I say to which he replies by wiping the smile off his face. I shake my head as Naz  returns with the kit. I grab it from him and notice Helix is still standing, so I grab his hand and lead him to the bench forcing him to sit. Kneeling with one knee before him, I open the kit on the bench and take out some wool, band aid and Hydrogen peroxide.

I proceed to clean it and place the band aid over. I notice him wince when the peroxide makes contact with his wound. "I get you're a guy, but Helix, it's okay to not be okay, and it's okay to say so," I say and look at him noticing he is staring intently at me. However, he quickly looks away when I make eye contact with him.

"You realize the wound is on my arm not my brain right?" He says as Naz says, "Helix I could wash Odin if you'd like. I mean it's the least I could do,"

"Odin? Is that his horse?" I ask to which Naz nods. "No it's cool, I've got it," Helix says getting up.

"No, you haven't," I say pushing him back down. "You saved me, I'll wash the horse. That'd make us even. I hate owing people.  Naz you can go ride, no worries, I've got it," I say with emphasis on the I.

Naz glances at Helix who seems to be daring him to leave then at me, then at Helix . Shrugging Naz turns around and grabs Rex, jumping on the horse and galloping off.

"He's smart," I say in reference to his decision on listening to me and not Helix.

"More like an Idiot," Helix mouths to which I turn and glance at him. Realizing my hand was still on his shoulder holding him down, I retrieve it quickly.

"Some would say the same about you," I reply turning and jogging into the stable a grin on my face at having the last word.
