Gadget's Pov:
When Infinite asked me that question, my heart skipped a beat. Everything just turned silent and everyone was just a haze. "Hey, Gadget!" Tails exclaimed as he found me walking along the rehab center. "Hey, Tails." I greeted, my thoughts still consumed on the question. "Sonic asked me to check on your progress with Infinite. So, anything new? No attacks?" Tails asked as he landed on the ground. "Well, good news. He never attacked me or anyone. And yes, there is progress. Especially on his feelings." I replied, smiling. "Feelings?" He questioned, curiously. "Yeah, he asked me that the meaning of love is today. Meaning he must be feeling love for someone in the rehab center." I explained, blushing. "You think it might be you?" Tails asked as he playfully punched my arm. "Shut up, Tails. You know, the rules here. Besides, I am pretty sure he will never like me." I responded, weakly. The thought of him disliking me or hating me can make me feel sad. Depressed. Angry. Confused. Disgusted. Why on earth would I just assume he likes a boy? Why would I assume who he likes at all? "Gadget, you know you can guess sometimes. A little thought never hurt somebody." Tails responded, reassuring me.

I looked at him with a glare to which he realized what he said and shrugged his shoulders. "Okay, some thoughts are an exception!" Tails exclaimed as he began to fly in the air. "Right, well, bye Tails. I gotta keep making progress. Tell Sonic I said hi!" I exclaimed as Tails waved goodbye and started flying faster toward his destination. I walk to Infinite's room and check on him to see if he had done anything to his potential crush. "Have I written about that on his report? I should, Shadow might wanna read that." I whispered as I grabbed the clipboard that was hanging by a string along with a pen. I began to write down how he looked, how he acted, and how he expressed his feelings when he asked that question. At the same time, I wanted to write down, what I thought about it but, it doesn't matter. What matters is that these villains are rehabilitated and not my opinion on it. I knock on Infinite's door as I unclip the clipboard from the string. "Hey, Gadget," Infinite said, nervously as he noticed the clipboard I held. "Me too, I really don't wanna report on it but, I have to." I reply, annoyingly. I really didn't like Shadow's rules on reports.

"Then write about this." He adds, bluntly. I looked at him confused until he leaned in slowly. I blushed furiously and leaned in too. Soon enough, our lips met and I could feel a wave of pleasure in my body. I dropped my clipboard and pencil as I focused solely on the kiss. I've been wanting to kiss this jackal for awhile. We both stepped back for a breath of air and we looked at each other deeply. "I'm guessing I am the lucky boy who won your heart?" I questioned as I looked away. Infinite nodded and pulled me into a hug. "I understand what love is now." He says as I hug him tightly. "What is it?" I asked. "Being with someone forever and showing them so much affection. So much love that they will never leave you." He explains. I smile and chuckle at the response. 'That's exactly what I wanted to hear." I mumbled as I held onto him tightly.
