My Robots Are Acting Weird
[A/N: Second-Hand embarrassment of getting caught! Enjoy, everyone! And thanks, Kyle_Auroras]
Tails' Pov:
"Hm, I don't know Sonic, I just feel like something is wrong," I spoke, sighing afterward. "Like?" He questioned, sitting across the table. "Well, those two robots from Eggman's labs that we managed to get to experiment on for any information about his plans," I admitted. "Yeah, what about them?" He asked, again. "It feels like you are not on the same train as me..." I mumbled, annoyingly. "Well, bud, I don't understand robots as well as you do," Sonic replied, scratching his quills. "Right, sorry, I'm just a little worried." I apologized. "Understandable but, remind me again, what they are and what they are supposed to do," Sonic spoke, leaning against his chair. "Right, well, these robots are supposed to simulate opposites, I guess. They have different personalities, designs, and everything else. But, more importantly, they simulate emotions and how they affect the robot in certain situations." I explained, remembering the notes I had written down from memory. "Right right, okay, I get that part. What about the robots themselves?" Sonic asked, curiously. "Well, they are special opposites. I think Eggman created them to represent good and evil. One is named Ira 1-200 while the other is Gadget 1-201. Ira represents sadness and selfishness while Gadget represents happiness and provides charitable and helpful services. At least, that's what the manuals that I found near them said." I explained, remembering back to that faithful day. Eggman had just thrown out two robots from his base and me being the curious one decided to try to take it somehow without him noticing. Everyone was hesitant but, they agreed. Sonic managed to piss Eggman so far that he left his base to almost murder him.
I always wondered what Sonic had done or said to get that reaction out of Eggman. Yet, my best buddy never told me and promised everyone else he never will for good reasons. No one knows to this day and perhaps, it was for the better. "Right, so basically, Gadget represents us and Ira represents his army. They are chess pieces made to test strategies and other things he has in store for us." Sonic attempted to explain. "Wow, yeah, that sounds about right, to be honest. You're smarter than you think." I replied, smiling slightly. "Well, I try when I want to," Sonic mumbled, looking at his gloves.
"So, what about them is worrying you?" Sonic asked, worriedly. "Well, first, I'll tell you what started my worries," I replied, he needed some background or else my worried would make zero sense. He nodded and I closed my eyes for a minute. "When I first started up Gadget, he was a kind, sweet, innocent, and real helper. He helped around the garage a lot. He offered loads of information to me and passed tools to me when I was building or fixing something." I explained. Gadget did live up to his expectations, a real helper with a kind personality. Almost like Sonic in a way.
"Ira, however, was something else. He was incredibly rude, sabotaged anything productive that I was doing, and he had these awful thoughts he never kept to himself. Yet, he seemed gloomy." I explained, sadly. I kinda feel pity toward him. Yes, he was a jerk most of the time when he was powered on. But, he looked so alone and gloomy when I didn't ask him for anything. So, I always had something for him to do just to see if something changed in him. It didn't.
"I kept them separated and powered one of them for a day. I never experimented with two robots because I was scared something bad would happen. But, Ira seemed to want someone so, I powered on Gadget one day along with him. Ever since then, they changed completely. Gadget was gloomy whenever Ira wasn't around and happy when he was. And that was the same for Ira too!" I exclaimed suddenly which surprised Sonic. I muttered an apology but, to this day, I am still surprised that it worked. They literally needed each other to function.
"Which would mean that Eggman designed them to work together? Wait, selfishness and selflessness together? That doctor is weird when it comes to these creations." Sonic explained. I nodded my head quickly and continued with my story. "So, one day, I needed both of them. They never came until an hour later. They both seemed tired, worn out, and Gadget looked shinier than usual." I explained, looking away. Why do I feel embarrassed when I tell this part of the story? Nothing happened, they just were late. But, why did they enter the room looking like that? They battled someone and had to clean Gadget for that reason?
"And to this day, they still do that. So, I have feeling that when I call them down, they won't even come." I spoke, crossing my arms. "Test it," Sonic mumbled, smirking slightly. Why does it feel like he knows what is going with my robots? "Gadget and Ira! Come down! I need your help!" I yelled out as I leaned back against my seat. We stood silent and waited patiently. 1 minute. 5 minutes. 10 minutes. 20 minutes. 30 minutes? Nope, no one came down. "Hm, perhaps, we should check on them? Have you ever done that?" Sonic suggested.
"I was scared..." I mumbled as he took me by the hand. He ran upstairs and showed him the room where they usually stay. "Ready?" He asked, his hand on the doorknob of the closed door. I nodded and he immediately opened the door with a hard thud of the wall. I looked inside only to see my robots on the floor with Gadget on Ira's lap kissing one another with blushing faces. "We can explain this, master..." Gadget spoke, weakly. "Sorry for always being late..." Ira mumbled.
"Honestly, Tails, I told Eggman he made intercourse robots and I guess I was half-right." Sonic admitted after a brief moment of silence.
