Six months have passed and the Resistance was starting to worry. Especially Sonic. Sonic and the Resistance have looked for the missing Rookie for about six months now. Yet, there were no clues nor ideas about where Infinite and Eggman had taken him. They searched his old base where Rookie was taken yet it seemed the two villains knew that the Resistance was looking for them and left before confrontation happened. Sonic feared for the worst. It was happening again. The exact same thing that happened to him was happening to Rookie. He was gone for six months and within those six months was just pure torture.

But then again, after six months of torture, he was found again by Rookie. Perhaps this will happen where Sonic and the Resistance will find Rookie again after six months. Yeah, Sonic has hope. After all, Sonic must repay his debt and help Rookie as Rookie did to him. Though...was Rookie really being tortured? Put through six months of living hell by Infinite and Eggman. To Tails, it doesn't make sense. Eggman's schemes were getting better and tougher to beat as those six months passed. Would Infinite and Eggman really have the time to torture Rookie?

Well...

"And so, that is my proposed evil scheme! What do you two think?" Eggman asked as he looked at Infinite and Rookie or Gadget as he prefers. "Doctor...it sucks as always," Infinite replied, crossing his arms. "Don't listen to my negative lover over here, you just need to incorporate some factors in the scheme if you want it to work." Gadget explained as he got up from his seat. "Like what?" Eggman asked, staring at his monitors. "We all know we want to capture Sonic and his friends right?" Gadget questioned which the two of them nodded.

"We can't just outright try to capture Sonic again, we've done it many times for six months and it's always failed. So, I suggest we capture each of the less notable Resistance members so, we can have a fair chance of capturing and finally defeating Sonic once and for all." Gadget explained giving a smirk to himself as the thought dawned over his mind. For the first month, Gadget was locked away and only visited to be given food or have a possibility to clean himself up.

Yet, Infinite visited Gadget as the two of them figured out they were one another's long lost, childhood friends. They had a lot of catching up to do and they enjoyed one another's company so much that they forget they were enemies of war. Eventually, Eggman found out about the reason why they moved and while he was furious at Infinite for bringing in live bait, he later had a change of heart. Gadget managed to convince the doctor that he is willing to change sides just so he can be closer to Infinite and help Eggman capture Sonic once and for all. Eggman agreed and this was what the three have been doing for six months.

"So which one should we capture?" Eggman asked. "The one who is the weakest and less notable to the team or anyone else for that matter of fact," Gadget replied as he walked around the room to think of someone. "What about the pink rascal Amy?" Infinite questioned as he laid back in mid-air. "No good, Sonic and the others have a good eye on her due to her being kinda important to the team," Gadget explained. "Oh! I got one!" Eggman exclaimed as he went toward his computer.

The doctor began to type someone into the computer and then a picture of Victor, Charmy, and Espio came up. "Team Chaotix..." Gadget mumbled out as he stared at the image. "So, that's their team name. Interesting information, anything else?" Eggman asked as he pulled up a notepad on the computer. "Well, first up, they are a group of detectives who solved small cases for money or publication. Currently, they work as volunteers for the Resistance and mostly do the fighting rather than the planning. Even with all of this information, they are rarely seen with anyone else other than each other." Gadget explained, crossing his arms together.

"Good to know. I suggest we do our usual Phantom Ruby cage with electricity included too." Infinite suggested as he flew over to Eggman who was continuing to type out notes for the team. "Oh and make sure to check for anything on them! Something tells me that they have a secret weapon, in case of emergencies, such as getting captured by Eggman's army!" Gadget exclaimed his suggestion which made Infinite lovingly look at his boyfriend. Eggman nodded and typed in the final notes he needed to start a plan. "Alright, I'm off to plan. I'll call both of you when I need it. Dismissed!" Eggman explained before leaving the meeting room.

Infinite and Gadget sighed and looked at one another. "How can you handle Dr.Eggman?" Infinite asked as they both left the room. "Well, his plans may suck, but they can still be improved by simple changes if you just talk to him about them, you know." Gadget explained as he playfully punched Infinite in the arm. "Yeah, you have the patience to do that yet, I don't know, nerd." Infinite replied as he looked out the window of the new base. "Hm, it only feels like yesterday..." Gadget mumbled as he looked out as well.

"I can already feel the adrenaline in my body as I felt the clones attack. I felt fear when I was captured. Yet I felt love and compassion when I realized who it was. Ira, thank you for saving me. I missed you for so long and now I can love you however I want." Gadget explained, immediately latching onto Infinite's arm. Infinite put his hand on Gadget and smiled underneath his mask. "Yeah, it's been a "long time, no see" situation, huh? I missed and loved you too, dork!" Infinite exclaimed, bring Gadget closer to him.

Yes, what good childhood friends they were.
