Chapter 5 ( One step Closer)

Reader's P.O.V.

After the incident at the pond, I stayed home for a while. I know Mother was only looking out for me but I knew she wouldn't always be there and eventually when she won't be here anymore, I'd have t learn to depend on myself. Eventually when I did go outside, I went to the park when I was sure no one would be there. When I arrived, like I expected, no one was there. The kids there aren't cruel but they still like to talk to me too much and their parents don't seem to want them around me.

Like always I went to my favorite spot on the swings. As I went towards the swing set, I left a trail of my footprints in the snow. I sat still on the swing for a while then slowly stuck out my tongue and caught snow flakes on it. They immediately melted after landing on my warm tongue. I did this for about a minute before I heard a voice behind me.

I turned around and it was that guy again from the pond, only this time he was dragging a lawnmower behind him. I wanted to stand up and leave but he had already reached the swing and started to push me on it. I didn't turn to face him, it would only make my shyness start acting up.

Ronald: It looks like we keep running into each other.

He says while continuing to push the swing.

Ronald: Why did you run away the other day? I wanted to talk to you.

I wanted to tell him I didn't want to talk to him but I chose to remain quiet. He stopped pushing the swing. I heard him walk around the swing set and sit on the swing next to me.

Ronald: You know you can talk to me. I know I didn't get the chance to tell you before but I'm Ronald Knox by the way.

He held out his hand to me but I didn't shake and he drew it back awkwardly.

Ronald: I'm guessing your that girl I saw the other night on the swing. I still don't know your name. Aren't you going to tell me?

Still I didn't answer. He got up from the swing and kneeled in front of me. I tried my best to avoid his gaze but he only smiled at me.

Ronald: You really are adorable.

He reached his hand to my face and turned it so I was looking at him. He stroked my cheek and his face got closer to mine until it looked like we were going to kiss. That's when I kicked him and he stumbled back. I knew what he was doing. I've heard stories about him and he seemed to fit the description. The other day in the library, the new librarian came in sad. She told me she dated this guy with orange and black hair with yellow green eyes, who wore a nice black suit. They dated for a while before she gave her body to him and he never talked to her again. Ronald was with a new girl every time you saw him and he was trying to make me one of his throw away toys. I'm not stupid, guys like him can't be trusted.

When I had kicked Ronald I lost my balance when I tried to get up quickly from the swing and fell on top of him. He rolled on top of me and pinned my arms next to my head. I struggled against him.

Ronald: I'm not trying to hurt you but I don't want you to run away from me. I want to know your name.

I shook my head at him.

Ronald: Why not? I'm not mad at you for kicking me. Tell me or I'll kiss you. (He says flirtatiously)

His hands began to trail down my sides. He's so weird, how can he do this so comfortably with a stranger. I guess I didn't have a choice but to give him what he wanted.

(Y/N): My name is (Y/N), p-please leave me alone now.

Ronald: I would but I'm worried you'll run away from me again. I just find you...interesting. Your not like everyone else are you.

(Y/N): W-what are you talking about?

Ronald only gazed into my (Eye color) eyes before he slowly stood up from me.

Ronald: It's nothing. (He says while rubbing the back of his head with his hand)

Ronald pulled back his suit sleeve and looked at his watch.

Ronald: I guess I have to go now, I'll be late and I don't want William to give me overtime. I hope I see you around (Y/N).

Ronald winked at me before he turned to leave. I grimaced at him before parting my own way. It's getting colder out now that the clouds have blocked the sun. I guess I'll go grocery shopping for Mother since I'm out.

Time skip....

Ronald's P.O.V.

I sat at my work station and I just couldn't focus on anything. Grell noticed this and strutted over to ask question.

Grell: What's wrong Ronnie? You seem to be in thought.

Ronald: It's nothing. I just can't stop thinking about  this girl. I ran into her three times and she kept running away from me.

Grell: Uhg, she sounds awful.

Ronald: She's just really different from the other girls I've met. She doesn't like me.

Grell: Who cares if one girl doesn't like you, I like you.

Ronald: Yeah but that's not the same thing. You wouldn't understand since you don't like girls.

Grell: You usually don't get yourself so worked up over things like this. She can't be all that special. What does she even look like?

Ronald: Well she has (eye color) eyes and (hair color) hair. She's small and I thought she was just a kid at first. She seems to like being by herself and is really skittish but I like that about her. She's the first girl that's ever hit me.

Grell: Don't tell me you like her! Your suppose to be with me.

Ronald: I'm not sure yet, but it feels like it. Besides Grell, you like every guy. One day your going to have to choose which one you want to stick with.

I watched Grell as he humphed at me and dramatically sauntered away.

In the mean time I WILL get you to open up to me (Y/N).....
