TODAY WAS THE DAY, THE DAY THEY PREPARED FOR. Evelyn looked at herself in the mirror, she was wearing a flower crown and a long white historical dress. There was no more Evelyn, just Juliet. Someone knocked on the door, bringing Evelyn out of her thoughts.

"Come in!" Evelyn exclaimed.

The visitor came in and when they joined her in the mirror, she gasped.

"Evelyn, you look beautiful," Nancy whispered.

"Oh, it's just you Nance." Evelyn smiled.

"Who did you think I was?" Nancy asked.

"Honesty, I would have thought you were Maria or Ryan, I'm just so nervous." Evelyn gushed.

"Hey, Ev, you're gonna be fine. You worked so hard for this, you got this!" Nancy exclaimed. "Plus, you have been through worse," Nancy laughed.

"True," Evelyn chuckled.

"And if you mess up, no one will notice. They'll think it's all part of the play," Nancy explained. "People can be stupid, really stupid."

"Tell me about it," Evelyn cocked her head to the side.

Nancy was about to leave when Evelyn called her name again.

"Hey Nance?" Evelyn said.

Nancy looked back. "Yeah?"

"I just wanted to say Thanks," Evelyn smiled.

"For what?" Nancy asked.

"For being there for me, you-know after my mom and still being my only friend." Evelyn explained.

"Ev, you have many friends now!" Nancy exclaimed.

"Yeah but you're my favorite and the best one." Evelyn whined.

"Evelyn-" Nancy started.

"It's true!" Evelyn cut her off and rushed to hug her. "Thanks you, Nancy Wheeler," Evelyn hugged her tight.

"It's my duty to be your best friend Evelyn Smith. I don't need a thank you when I got you, congrats on the play." Nancy smiled as she hugged back.

Nancy finally exited the room and took all of Evelyn's nervousness with her. That girl was something else, someone came in as soon as Nancy left.

"You need help with your corset Ev?" It was Ryan.

"Yes please!" Evelyn whined. "I was just talking to Nancy, why didn't I ask her?"

Ryan chuckled as he comes up from behind and wraps the corset around Evelyn and tighten it.

"Is that too tight?" Ryan whispered, his hot breath tickling her ear.

"No, not at all. Thank you." Evelyn thanked.

Evelyn turned around and saw Ryan, more close than usual, their faces only inches away from one another.

"Ryan," Evelyn's voice was barely heard as they leaned in.

Their lips connected once more, the kiss was short and sweet just as they are. Ryan broke the kiss and was about to leave when he held his hand out for Evelyn to take.

"Now, let's get this show on the road, shall we?" Ryan asked.

"We shall," Evelyn answered.

"Ryan! Evelyn! You're on now!" Maria exclaimed as she rushed somewhere.

...

"No!" Evelyn cried as she saw Ryan "dead" infront of her. "This was not meant to happen,"

"Juliet, he, he thought you were dead." Another student, Percy informed her.

"We were supposed to be together but not like this," Evelyn looked around the scene.

"What do you plan on doing? You can't possibly kill yourself to be with that murder!" Percy exclaimed.

"He isn't a murder! And his name is Romeo and I think I'm in love him, no, I love him!" Evelyn grabbed the posion prop and drank it, it was filled with water.

"Juliet, wait!" Percy tried to stop her, but it was too late.

"I would rather die to be with the man that I love than marry a man who only sees me as an object and not a human being." Evelyn threw the posion prop and it landed at Percy's feet.

Evelyn laid on top on Ryan, acting dead.

Suddenly other characters arrived to the scene.

"Sir, what happened?" A student, Annabeth asked.

"A tragedy known as true love," Percy answered.

The curtain closed and everyone started to clap, even Hopper who doesn't even care about plays to begin with.

"That was amazing! Who knew my brother and Evelyn could act?" Dustin asked, standing up.

"I did," Nancy and Jonathan replied as the same thing, they were also standing.

"For once, I actually agree with you." Lucas smiled at Dustin. (Not all characters will give them a standing ovation but then again, hang on-)

By the sounds of the curtains rising, the gang stood up and clapped so hard, they were for sure getting blisters on their hands.

Evelyn and Ryan looked out to the crowd and saw them, they smiled as they this was the last time, the couple looked at one another before they took yet again another bow. Someone threw roses on the stage, Evelyn picked them up and looked to see where it had come from. When she saw the culprit, she was shocked. It was Mr. Clarke, who has a huge smile on his face and gave a huge thumbs up.

Maria walked on stage after what felt like two years and began to talk on the mic.

"First of all, I would just like to thank you for coming." Maria chuckled. "I'm gonna be honest, Romeo and Juliet isn't my favorite play, it's my least favorite." People in the audience laughed with her. "But let's give it up to the crew who worked so hard to make this play surreal and a very special thanks to my two favorite people in the whole world, other than my mom and my lover, Ryan Henderson and Evelyn Smith, who rocked their roles as the main leads, Romeo and Juliet!" Maria finished her speech.

The light shined on the couple, as people clapped for them. Evelyn jumped at Ryan and wrapped her legs around his waist as he gripped her tightly, her face in his neck, clearly embarrassed by the certain amount of attention. Ryan waved at the crowd before going in the back, Evelyn still in his arms.

"Evelyn, you're gonna have to let go. We have to change." Ryan told her.

"What if I don't want to change?" Evelyn asked.

"As much as you look beautiful in your dress and flower crown, you kinda have to, these oufits aren't ours." Ryan explained.

"Ryan! Hey!" A girl ran up to Ryan. "Oh shit, are you guys doing couple stuff, I'll just come back later." The girl was about to leave when Ryan stopped her.

"Actually, Ev and I were about to change back into our clothes, so if you wanna say something, Rob, better say it now." Ryan chuckled.

"As much as I hate this town and plays, this was absolutely mind blowing Ryan, you crushed it. You both did! Robin Buckley," Robin held her hand out to Evelyn. "We're friends, and we're both in band and play the trumpet."

Evelyn got off of Ryan and shook the girls hand, "Evelyn Smith but I'm pretty sure you already know that." Evelyn laughed, Robin laughed with her.

"Yeah, yeah, I do. But you guys did amazing, congratulations, I gotta go now before my parents find out where I am. It was nice meeting you Evelyn!" Robin ran from the duo.

"You too!" Evelyn exclaimed before turning back to Ryan.

"Meet me at my car?" Ryan suggested.

"Meet you at your car," Evelyn confirmed as she kissed him lightly.

Evelyn went back to her dressing room and quickly changed back into her normal clothes. Evelyn opened the door and was met with her father.

"Dad, hey!" Evelyn smiled.

"Hey, Ev," John smiled.

"Are you here to tell me I did awesome on the play? Almost everyone said that including Ryan and he was in it!" Evelyn rambled.

"Actually I'm here to talk about you and Ryan," John said.

"Oh," Evelyn looked at her dad in genuine confusion. "Dad, I promise Ryan is a good guy and you won't be having a grandkid in nine months, I swear!"

"Ev, it's alright. Ryan is a nice guy, we both know that. And I better not see a little Ryan and Evelyn running around, they would kill me." John reassured her.

"Okay, then what is it?" Evelyn asked.

"When I was watching the play, I just noticed the the way you and him look at each other throughout and I realized that it's the same way your mom and I looked at each other when we first fell in love back in the day, it's the look of love." John smiled.

"Dad," Evelyn hugged him, he hugged back. "That means alot coming from you."

"Now go have fun, but not too much." He teased, he kissed her head.

"I will, love you." Evelyn began to walk away.

"Love you too!" John exclaimed.

Evelyn walked to Ryan's car, where he was already waiting for her.

"Took you long enough," He teased as the couple got in the car.

"Oh shut up," Evelyn muttered.

"Glady," Ryan kissed her, taking her by surprise.

Evelyn gasped in the kiss, while Ryan only chuckled.
