MS. KELLY sat down at her desk, staring at the student opposite to her, Evelyn Smith.

"So Evelyn, How do you feel since it's well you know almost been a year since," The woman trailed off.

"My mom's death." Evelyn finished for her. "I'm fine, really."

"If you were, we wouldn't be having this conversation Evelyn and you know that. It's not easy to get over someone but you can't just shove it down like it never happened." Ms. Kelly explained.

Evelyn sighed, she knew Ms. Kelly was right but she didn't want to admit it.

"Yeah, yeah, I know," Evelyn mumbled. "I just don't like talking about it and we didn't really end on a good note before well," Evelyn trailed off.

"Before she was mauled by that bear?" Ms. Kelly finished for Evelyn, who nodded.

"Yeah, that." Evelyn mentally cursed the public for making it seem like her mom died to a bear, out of all things. I mean, no one would believe her if she said that her mom really died from something that came from a fantasy game.

"How have you and your dad been coping?" Ms. Kelly asked.

"Not well, just this morning I um saw him, he had tears dried on his face as if he just lost the best thing in his life, which he did," Evelyn answered, truthfully.

"Oh, and how did you respond?" She asked.

"Can you just stop?" Evelyn snapped.

Ms. Kelly was taken aback, "Stop what? Evelyn, I'm only trying to help."

"By making it worse!" Evelyn got up from her seat. "You think I like coming here every day to get reminded of what happened to my mom? I hate it, I hate how everyone just moved past it, I hate it how they all see it as an accident when it wasn't, I just hate all of it!" Evelyn ranted, and tears began to come down her face. "Why her out of all people? She didn't do anything wrong! She was a doctor, a wife, a mother, a friend!"

"Evelyn, I, I'm sorry, I didn't know how you felt." Ms. Kelly began to hug the girl.

"No one knows how I feel, they can't know." Evelyn cried in her arms.

"You can't bottle up your feelings and throw them away Evelyn, you have to confront them, confront your feelings and they'll go away, I promise." Ms. Kelly talked to the girl.

"They're just so big, I just want to hide away from them," Evelyn spoke in a whisper.

"Evelyn, listen to me. It's going to get better soon, alright? But right now all you have to do is to confront those dark feelings you kept deep down and let them out in whatever way possible." Ms. Kelly told Evelyn. (If only she hasn't...)

"Yeah, yeah, I'll try." Evelyn showed a slight smile.

"That's the spirit, now head back to class," Ms. Kelly gave Evelyn a pass.

Evelyn took it and grabbed her bag and left the counselor's office, having that little outburst did make her feel a bit better.

Evelyn walked in silence when someone approached her. (I just thought of a scenario where Evelyn got kidnapped right here 💀)

"I heard what you said in there, you know." The person said, startling her.

"What do you mean?" Evelyn decided to act dumb.

The person only scoffed and pushed them and Evelyn into the janitor's closet, they turned on the lights.

"Don't play dumb Evelyn, we both know you aren't dumb." The person rolled their eyes.

Evelyn realized how close they were and blushed lightly. "Was pushing me in a janitor's closet really necessary?"

"No, but the people in the movies look cool so I just had to!" The person exclaimed.

"Of course, you did, nerd." Evelyn rolled her eyes.

"Sorry not sorry," Ryan tilted his head to the side. (Actually thought of Sofia at first but decided to give yall Revelyn content)

"Let's get out of here before a staff member thinks we made out or something," Evelyn began to tug at the door.

But someone opened it for her. Ryan and Evelyn's faces blushed when they saw who it was.

"Evelyn when I said let those feelings out, I didn't mean this!" Ms. Kelly exclaimed. "Off to class you two,"

Ryan laughed awkwardly as he came out of the closet (yes, I did this on purpose, we support you Ryan <3)

Evelyn came out shortly after, (we support you two ev, don't worry <3)

"You know you can talk to me Ev, just know that." Ryan smiled before heading off to band class(BAND BAND BANDDDDDD, sorry just a fellow band kid here-)

"Good luck with your concert next month!" Evelyn exclaimed to him.

"Thanks!" Ryan exclaimed back. (Nah cause my concert is in four days yall-)

Evelyn turned around and headed to class, not caring that Ryan made her later than she should have.

Evelyn went into the classroom and the teacher stopped her, almost immediately.

"Evelyn you're late," The teacher observed.

"Yes, I'm aware. Professor Xavier. " Evelyn snapped. (Yes I did just make that reference)

"I'll let it go but only if you show our new student, transferred from Russia, Sofia Harrington over there." The teacher pointed at Sofia.

A student scoffed in annoyance. "What you never let it go when I'm late!"

"You're one to talk, Ms. (Gwen </3) Stacy but last time I checked, you're failing my class.

The student slumped in their seat as they rolled their eyes. "English sucks anyways." (Well ain't that the truth)

Professor focused his attention back on Sofia. "Doesn't talk much, but she needs someone to show her around, after class though. Don't want you to leave her for some secret boyfriend now."

"I don't have a boyfriend," Evelyn scoffed.

"Whatever, just take your seat." Professor Xavier mumbled.

Evelyn went and sat next to Sofia, who waved at her with excitement.

"Steve let me go to school, claims bad men are gone." Sofia smiled.

"They sure are," Evelyn smiled. "Wait till the others find out about this."

"Evelyn and Sofia talking during my class? If I catch you again, it's detention for both of you." Professor Xavier warned.

"Got it sir," Evelyn replied while Sofia nodded slowly, glaring deathly at the man.
