MARIA CAMPBELL was the total drama nerd at Hawkins High, it currently helped that she was graduating that year and wouldn't have to deal with bullies or guys cat-calling her (*coughs* Billy freaking Hargrove and Tommy so gay H *coughs*)

She was putting her books in her locker when someone approached her, but she didn't see their face.

She had only assumed who it was when she spoke. "Can I just get one day where you leave me alone?" Maria slammed her locker but regretted it when she realized who it was.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean that. Just thought you were someone else, that's all." Maria quickly apologized.

The person only laughed. "You're so cute, Maria."

Maria's face flushed at their words. "I'll see you later, behind the school?"

"Yeah, see you there." They patted Maria on the back and left.

Maria looked at the retreating figure and headed to class when she saw a familiar face heading in her direction.

"Maria, hey." Evelyn waved.

"Hey," Maria smiled. "You going to Tina's Halloween party tonight?" She held up her flyer.

"Oh that, uh I gotta study tonight." Evelyn shook her head.

"You're not going Evelyn, but Ryan is going." Nancy crept up on Evelyn, who jumped.

"Well, believe it or not, my grade for chemistry this semester matters more." Evelyn glared at Nancy.

"Wait, you have a crush on Ryan?" Maria asked.

"Uh, I-, No-" Evelyn started.

"She so does," Nancy cut her off. "And I'm going to tell Ryan you said that chemistry matters more than him." teased.

"But you guys have chemistry already, why study?" Maria watched the blush rise to Evelyn's cheeks.

"Ugh, I hate you guys," Evelyn muttered.

"No, no you don't." Maria countered.

"We'll stop teasing you if you come to the party," Nancy offered before thinking of an idea. "Dressed as Gwen Stacy,"

"What? No!" Evelyn scoffed. "I can't dress up as Gwen Stacy," Evelyn rambled.

"But you would have pulled off the outfit Ms. Byers made for you so well," Nancy begged.

"Fine, I'll go dressed as Gwen Stacy only if you stop whining." Evelyn pointed at Nancy before looking at Maria. "And if you tell me who you're going as,"

"Maria tell her please," Nancy shook the girl. "Please," Nancy dragged out the e.

"Easy, Two words, Bob Ross." Maria smiled as she saw two guys walk by them.

"Now Ryan, you know that Halloween party is tonight, yes?" Jonathan looked at Ryan. (I'm sorry but they just reminded me of Ronance- but male version, idk why but now they do)

"Yeah, what about it?" Ryan looked at the Byers boy.

"You're like totally going right?" Jonathan asked. "I don't wanna go alone, I also heard that Evelyn was going too as Gwen Stacy." Jonathan watched the blush rise to Ryan's face.

"Evelyn as Gwen Stacy? She doesn't read comics." Ryan explained. "But she would make a good Gwen Stacy, just hope that she doesn't die."

"Wait, Gwen dies?" Jonathan, taken back by his words.

"Yeah, doesn't everyone know that?" Ryan questioned.

"I didn't, such a spoiler, can't be friends with you anymore." Jonathan put a hand over his heart. "But you'll be there at the party tonight?"

"Only if you're there." Ryan smiled.

"Okay," Jonathan threw Ryan a smile before heading to class.

Meanwhile Ryan on the other hand sighed deeply.

"What on earth did I just sign up for?" He muttered quietly.

...

"Why on earth did I agree to this?" Evelyn asked as she stood outside Tina's house.

"One word, fun!" Maria ran inside the house.

"Fun, okay. Fun." Evelyn began to go into the house.

Suddenly, a teenager came out the window, passed out now. They definitely got too drunk.

Evelyn stepped inside and it was maybe the best thing she had ever done.

Tina's Halloween Bash was awesome, to say the least, people were making out, people were laid out, and there were tons of teens drinking as usual.

But one question remained, How was Evelyn gonna make it through the night? Dressed as Gwen Stacy with the black headband, new bangs, and the clothing?

"Evelyn, you made it!" Nancy greeted her friend, slurring her words slightly.

"Nancy, are you drunk?" Evelyn asked.

Nancy shook her head, "No! Just had a couple of drinks, you should try some."

Nancy got her a cup and gave to her before leaving to dance."I gotta dance now, show everyone these cool moves."

"You show them Nance!" Evelyn looked at her friend's retreating figure. "This better be worth it." Evelyn drank the punch.

"Was it good?" Jonathan asked from behind, startling Evelyn.

"Awesome, feels nice to get your mind off things." Evelyn tapped the plastic cup before getting more.

"Hey, have you seen Nancy by any chance?" Jonathan asked, he saw Steve leave the party without Nancy.

"She just went to go and dance," Evelyn answered. "Man this punch is good."

"Thanks," Jonathan muttered as he walked away.

Evelyn looked at the people dancing and she could have sworn she saw someone dressed as Bob Ross kissing someone who was dressed up as a movie star, a female one, Winona Ryder?

Evelyn shook her head before getting another cup of punch.

The music blared through the house, Ryan looked around the place, looking for anyone of his friends.

Someone went up to him. "And who are you dressed up as, some homeless guy?"

"Peter, Peter Parker." Ryan answered truthfully before putting the glasses on.

"Hm, I dig it. Your girlfriend Gwen is over there getting punch, I'd say she's been there for too long." The person patted Ryan on the back before leaving.

Girlfriend? Ryan didn't have a girlfriend. He was about to call back to the person but they were long gone.

Ryan headed to the the kitchen, none the less and found no one he recognized.

"Ryan, hey, you made it." Jonathan smiled while holding a drunk Nancy.

"Leaving already? I just got here." Ryan exclaimed.

"Sorry, duty calls." Jonathan guestred to Nancy.

"Right, right, have you seen Evelyn by any chance?" Ryan asked.

Jonathan nodded his head. "Dancing with Maria, We're glad to see you two matching." Jonathan smiled.

"Yeah, we are." Nancy laughed.

"Uh thanks, I'll see you guys tomorrow." Ryan waved at the duo.

"See ya," Jonathan smiled.

Ryan looked at the punch bowl, grabbed a cup and drank it before spitting it out.

"What the hell is this?" Ryan put the cup down in disgust.

Ryan made his way towards the dance floor.

He was shocked to say the least.

Evelyn was dancing happily with Maria, feeling the music.

All Ryan could do was smile as the two, living their best night with one another.

Evelyn and Maria has their arms out and were raising them up as they moved their lower body. (Like Maddy and Cassie in that one scene of euphoria S2)

Maria noticed Ryan and whispered in Evelyn's ear.

"Pretty boy is here, and I'm sure he's here for you." Maria left Evelyn alone on the dance floor, looking for her special someone.

"Ryan," Evelyn made her way to Ryan, stumbling on the way but she made it to him and hugged him tightly.

"Hey to you too, Evelyn," Ryan hugged her back, his face in her neck.

"You wanna go and dance?" Evelyn asked him.

Evelyn words slured, Ryan noticed that but still danced with her anyways.

Ryan placed his arms next to her, their breath trailed on her neck.

Evelyn blushed lightly as her and Ryan held strong eye contact, his eyes never left hers as they stayed still.

Ryan then put her hands down to her side, his hands going with hers.

Evelyn took his hand, Ryan dipped her and he pulled her back in, he spun her around.

Ryan softly placed his hand on her face as they remained in the same position.

As he finished, their faces were nearly inches, centimeters away from each other.

The two begin to lead in, noses were barely touching before Ryan cleared his throat and turned his head.

Ryan saw Maria with a person leaving as well, their lips somehow being slightly bruised.

"I think it's time I get you home," Ryan said to the girl.

Ryan and Evelyn finally left the party, it was well past 10pm, they got in the car and he began to drive, Evelyn in the passenger seat dozed off almost immediately.

Silence laid upon Ryan as he was regrouping what happened when they were dancing.

"Was I really about to kiss Evelyn in all places?" The thought laid in Ryan's head as he stayed focused on the road.

Ryan turned on the radio, annoyed with the silence.

"It really is such a shame on what's happening to the poor pumpkins, isn't it Barry?" One person spoke.

"It most certainly is, whatever is happening it needs to stop. It's Halloween for goodness sake, we need pumpkins!" The person known as Barry replied.

"Yeah, it doesn't help with the crime upstate in Illinois with these people dressed in black running away from the cops just only two days ago!"

"You're right on that, Joe. Whoever those people are doing very bad things and is making life hard for others." Barry went on. "You-know when I was fifteen, I was held at gun-point." Barry revealed.

"Holy cow! How did that even happen Barry?" Joe exclaimed.

"Holy cow!" Ryan mocked the guy as he pulled into his driveway.

"Yeah, I wasn't even doing anything. Just went inside the store, just grabbing a snack and then these people dressed in black just done grab my chips and water out of my hand and I was like 'Why the hell they steal my stuff for? There was plenty of chips and water still left!'" Barry recited the incident. "I was so pissed and when I asked for it back, they just held me at gun-point and I ran like a little baby." Barry explained. "And ever since then, my mom goes with me almost everywhere I go."

"Even today?" Joe asked, shocked.

"Even today! People can do weird things Barry, weird things." Barry remarked.

"Well you know that's true, anyways Barry and I are gonna head home for the night so to anyone still on, stay safe and we hope you had a wonderful Halloween!" Joe exclaimed.

Ryan got out of the car and carefully carried a sleeping Evelyn to her house, he assumed her father wasn't home, he was gratefull for that.

Ryan used the spare key under doormat and went inside the house, turning on the lights.

Ryan took the slight chance to look around, there was photo frames of Evelyn and her family and even Nancy was in some of them.

"They must be really close," Ryan thought.

Ryan, still carring Evelyn walked up the stairs and quickly found her room and placed her on her bed.

"Ryan?" Evelyn mumbled.

"Yeah Ev." Ryan looked up at her.

"You looked amazing at the party." Evelyn rambled. "If only he knew how much I liked him." Evelyn smiled before covering her mouth as she laughed lightly. "Now you know," Evelyn laughed even more.

"Yeah, now go to sleep Ev." Ryan shooed her.

Evelyn headed back to sleep, Ryan couldn't help but smile at what he just heard, he kissed Evelyn on the forehead.

"Goodnight Ev," Ryan tucked her in, turned the light off in the whole house and left.

I finally posted but like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH REVELYN OWNS MY HEART, THIS WAS THEIR CHAPTER. THEY CAME AND THEY SERVED, I'M 100% GIVING YALL THE BTS OF THIS SCENE CAUSE YALL NEED IT

and yes Barry and Joe are named after the icons, Joe West and Barry Allen (Will we see them again? Is that even a question, yes, yes we will)
