before we start this chapter, i recommend going back and reading chapter 15 and sixteen :)

Ben just kinda sat there, not knowing what the hell to say. There's no way that was just a dream. He slapped himself to make sure this wasn't afterlife or something, but then he looked at the date on his phone. He's been there for almost a day? How the hell has he been asleep for an entire day? No one has checked on him? The he realized he should probably check his phone.

He had a lot of unread messages, not knowing who's to open first. He scrolled fast through his notifications.

The number on his messages app. Over 34 snaps, and over 100+ instagram notifications. How the hell?

No one knows where he is, and it's saturday night, 11:35 pm.

Getting up and leaving would probably be smart, but he should probably start texting people back first. He opened his messages from Rey, and damn. She really regrets what she said.

Apparently she was waiting for a response, because the second he opened it, it told her that he saw it, and almost went off on him.

"BEN"

"BEN SOLO ANSWER RIGHT NOW"

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!"

"DO YOU KNOW HOW WORRIED WE ARE?"

"ARE YOU OKAY? ARE YOU HURT?"

"BEN FUCKING SOLO IF YOU DONT ANSWER RIGHT NOW"

Ben isn't really the kind of guy who would hold an interesting conversation over text, so he called her.

The sound of his phone wringing, mixed with the thunder outside gave him a weird feeling. Man he sure does have some explaining to do. Would anyone even believe what he just went through? Probably not.

He answered and couldn't understand a thing. Rey was sobbing uncontrollably.

"Rey, please calm do- AND STOP SCREAMING"

He could barely understand her, but tried to let her know as best as possible that he was going to go over to her house. He wanted her to tell the others that he's okay.
