Ray Davies was a simple man; a well respected man. He needed to wash his best colourful groovy shirts, but where? Life on the road could be difficult. He wasn't living in a rock and roll fantasy where everything was not perfect. Everything was far from perfect.
He dumped his shirts into a basket and drove off to the local laundromat. It wasn't near but nor was it far. He hopped out his car and into the place. There was no one else here besides a mysterious person hidden behind a newspaper. He walked up to the nearest washing machine inserted two coins. Then loaded his laundry. The hum of the washing machine had a strange effect on him. He was stunned. He had nothing to say that would describe his true feelings.
''I wouldn't do that if I was you,'' said a familiar voice. It was Dave his brother. He turned out to be the person behind a newspaper. He pulled a funny face. ''I need you washing machine, to get all my clothes clean''
''Come on now,'' whined Ray. ''You've come to steal my lover, really brother'.'
''You shouldn't have any more sleepless nights over this Ray," snapped Dave. "I have history with the washing machine.''
Ray pouted. "We are alike as the Two Sisters. Let it go, this is where I belong with my washing machine love."
Dave frowned. "I've always always said trust your heart, but you are different you don't have one."
"Is that so..." said Ray rolling his eyes. "You don't ever change. You were an idiot then and still are."
Dave flicked his hair. "Such a shame you use what little you have of your brain attempting to insult me."
Ray pushed him away and got down on one knee. "I love you washing machine, you get all my clothes clean. You live in the laundry all day, you're a washing machine.''
Dave got down on both of his knees and prayed to Hipster Jesus. ''But we had a great wash together darling, you'd let some fresh water in and rinse out all the soap.''
Both boys were on the ground crying after confessing their love. The door swung open and Mick Avory walked in. ''What the heck is happening here, what are you doing with my washing machine??"
Ray nor Dave said a word, they just remained silent waiting for the washing machine to confess its love.
Mick raised his eyebrow. ''Well I came to collect my underpants. Leave my washing machine alone.''
Ray and Dave hung their heads low as the washing machine choose Mick instead.
The End
