Late December with my heart in my chest and the clouds of my breath. Didn't know where we were running to but don't look back.

Lea held the envelope in her hand nervously. This envelope would determine her future. Not only her future with her career but her future with Calum as well.
He knew she had applied but he was hoping that she didn't get in. He felt like a bad boyfriend for thinking so but he couldn't help it. Calum wanted to be with Lea for the rest of his life. They were young but he knew he loved her.
Lea fiddled with the hem of her, Calum's, sweater and looked at him nervously. They were each on their own swing at the local playground and no one was in sight, making the moment more personal.
"We'll never know unless you open the envelope," Calum said softly, knowing that Lea was really nervous.
"No matter what happens we'll still be together, right?" Lea asked, and Calum nodded his head in response. They were both so scared. Naive even.
Lea brought her thumb underneath the upper flap of the envelope and slowly ran her thumb along the edge. The sound of the paper ripping was the only sound tangible at the moment.
She slowly lifted out the packet and read the first few lines.
"Dear Lea Dawson,Yyou have been accepted into the University of Harvard Law for the next school year," Lea read aloud. Her hands shaking as she read the words. She had gotten in to her dream school. With her dream program.
"Oh my god! Lea that's incredible!" Calum said, he stood up from his swing, picking up his girlfriend and spun her around excitedly.
Lea allowed for little shrieks to leave her mouth as the two celebrated. She couldn't believe that she had actually gotten in. She had been on the waiting list for awhile but it was now official.
"This is incredible. I'm dating a really smart girl. Damn," Calum said, Lea grinning widely at him. He had always supported her in everything she did and she loved him so much for it.
She held on to the boy tightly and allowed for him to coddle her.
"I'm going to be moving to the other side of the country. Cal, that's so scary," Lea said, looking down at the paper. Calum had set her down and they were now sitting on a bench. She had a small pout on her lips and Calum just wanted to make sure she was never sad again.
"That's in six months though. We have plenty of time. You don't have to be at the school until September. Spring Break is in a few weeks too and we can go do something fun. We can go to Florida! We both have enough money saved up. I just want to spend these few months with you before you move away," Calum said excitedly.
"Okay. We can do that. Mom was offering to pay for my senior trip anyways. How about we drive? It's only about a day or so worth of driving and it'd be cheaper then getting last minute tickets," Lea suggested.
Calum nodded his head in agreement. They went to a year round school and had two weeks off for Spring Break so it wasn't a huge deal anyways if it took two days to get to Florida.
"We can go to the beach. And the aquarium. And the zoo. And Disney! It'll be great Lea," Calum said. He moved his hand slowly and wrapped it around Lea's shoulder brining her closer.
"This will be one of our biggest moments before we graduate and we'll remember it always. It'll be great," Calum then added, Lea smiling at his words.
"We'll make it through this. I know we will Calum," Lea reassured.
"I don't know about that. You'll be meeting so many cuter boys that are smarter than me and you'll fall in love with them so fast. I won't even have a warning," Calum said, earning a shove from his girlfriend.
"I love you. Not them. You have my heart. Not them. I'm yours. Not theirs," Lea said softly.
Calum leaned forward and pressed his lips to Lea's. He truly was just the luckiest guy in the world.

Surprise!! Sorry it's been so long. I've been so busy with school and some family issues but I should be back for now. I'll update more frequently. I promise!
