And the timing's never right. But for now let's get away on a Roman holiday.

Lea shoved one of her hands in her pockets, the other knocking against the wooden door that was so so similar to what she was used to.
It was strangely cold that day and Lea felt a bit like a mess with a giant sweater hanging off her shoulders and her hair thrown up in a messy bun. She was there to see someone she hadn't seen a long while and she was hoping that it wouldn't end completely horribly.
Lea chewed on her bottom lip nervously and tapped her fingers slowly to pass the time it would take for someone to answer the door.
The girl waited a few more seconds before the door opener slowly and out popped the head of a guy she had loved in the past and still loved now. He had a bit of bed head and was only dressed in a tshirt and boxers.
"Oh fuck, Lea," Calum said quickly, slamming the door shut. Lea was a bit shocked and was ready to leave but the door soon opened and Calum was now wearing pants.
"Hi," the girl said awkwardly. She started rocking on her heels as Calum did he same.
"What are you doing here? Not to sound rude but you kind of dumped me four months ago," Calum said softly. Lea looked just as stunning as she had when he was dropping her off in college.
"I'm sorry. I can leave. I have no idea why I showed up either," Lea admitted. She was just hoping that something would come out of it, that her and Calum could possibly be a thing again.
"No. It's all good. I was just surprised," Calum also admitted.
Calum smiled at the girl, his lips curling up as he tried to be nice to the girl he had once loved. He still felt so strongly about her but she had left him and he didn't get the chance to truly love her. He hadn't moved on, he still cared but it wouldn't be fair.
"Calum? What's taking so long?" a soft voice spoke from behind the boy.
Lea tried to hide the shock that was threatening to show on her face as she watched someone that looked almost identical to her step out from behind her ex. She was wearing one of Calum's tshirts and she had the same bed head that he did.
"Never mind, I better get going," Lea said softly.
"Wait-"
"No. I understand. You're allowed to move on Calum. We broke up. I'm not mad," Lea said.
She leaned forward and pressed a light kiss to Calum's cheek, then taking a step back and walking to her car.
"I wish you the best, Calum," she called out.
