"Now I lay me down to sleep"

Roman stood outside of his brother's door after hearing those words. He had been heading to his room after binging Disney songs most of the night. It was a little after three in the morning so usually everyone was asleep.

"I pray the Lord my soul to keep"

This brought out a red flag. Remus made it quite clear he was an atheist,so why would he be praying? Roman raised a fist, wanting to check on his brother but he wasn't sure what he'd say if he Remus opened the door.

"As Angels watch me through the night"

Roman knocked on the door softly, but received no response. Why didn't Remus answer? He always answered the door!

"Until I wake in the morning light"

Roman knocked on the door once more, getting more worried and concern by the second. "Remus? Open the door! Please!"

Again, he received no response or anything to acknowledge that Remus heard him.

"But if I shall die before I wake.."

Roman resorted to banging on the door, desperate to try and get his brother to unlock it. "Remus! Unlock the door! Please!"

Virgil, whom had woken up from the banging, came out of his room with a concerned look. "Ro? What's going on?"

"Remus won't open the door. Something doesn't seem right and I can feel he's in pain.." Roman had tears in his eyes as he continued trying to get in.

"I pray the Lord my soul to take.."

A loud gunshot echoed in the darkness of the mindscape, which seemed to be what kicked Virgils fight into the front seat. He kicked the door hand, effectively breaking it so the door had no choice but to open.

The two ran into the room and Roman screamed as he held his brother close to his chest, putting a hand over the bleeding wound as if it would help him save his brother.

Footsteps sounded as he continued screaming until his voice gave out. People were talking but everything was so far away and distant.

"Amen.."
