When they heard kathy was going to bring home a new kid.They knew it would be a mess.

Kathy had left at around 7 am that morning,leaving roman to take care of all the kids.

He sighed as he left the bathroom in his usual outfit,a red,worn-out leathermans jacket,black shirt and skinny jeans. He looked at his sleeping twin and shrugged. Remus woke up when he fell off the top bunk he'll be fine. Roman exited the room and went to Logan and Remy's shared room.

He opened the door and peaked inside,the 13 year old sighed when he saw Remy had slept in Logan's bed again. Remy tended to have nightmares because of their adoptive "mother" which was understandable. Roman had them too he just kept them hidden. He sat on the edge of the bed and gently shook remy.

The 8 year old stirred and blinked letting the morning light adjust his vision. He looked up and saw roman with a soft smile on his face. Remy made grabby hands for the eldest child. Roman shook his head fondly, lifting the boy into his lap.

'You big baby.Thomas is gonna start getting jealous.' Roman signed to the other. " He can get jealous I want my cuddles." Remy stated hugging his older brother. Roman smiled and hugged back.

'Go get ready for the day,we have someone new coming.' Roman signed,patting Remy's back,indicating he needed to get up. Remy groaned and hopped off Roman's lap,going to the dresser.

Roman heard a yawn and looked over to see Logan sat up and stretching. Roman chuckled a little. Logan looked at Roman and smiled. 'Morning Roman!' The mute boy signed 'Morning my shooting star' Roman signed back. 'You need to get up if you're wanting crofters and pancakes for breakfast.' Logan's eyes lit up as he scrambled out of bed with a smile on his face. Roman smiled and got up. Next up was patton,emile,thomas and janus

Roman smiled when he opened the door,seeing patton already awake and dressed in his worn out overalls and white and blue striped shirt,quietly playing with his stuffy.

Patton gave roman a gap-toothed smile when he saw him. "Bubba!" He giggled. 'Good morning to you too Little frog.' Patton stuck his tongue out at roman and giggled. 'Logan should be downstairs by now if you want to go." Roman signed and nearly stumbled back when Patton whizzed past him exclaiming "Logie!" Patton had favourites-

Roman sighed when he sat next to emile,The boy was born hard of hearing and was now deaf due to the constant shouting that would happen around the house. Roman shook the boy gently, Emile opened his eyes and turned around and smiled when he saw it was his brother. Roman notice Thomas had joined Emile in his bed.

'Time to wake up sunshine'
'Is kathy back?'Roman shook his head and smiled. Emile gently shook Thomas who woke up and smiled at roman "Rowo!" Thomas giggled. Roman smiled and picked the boy up as Emile grabbed his clothes. He kissed Thomas forehead. Remus appeared in the door way dressed in a similar outfit to roman only the red was green. "Morning Bro,Want me to take thomas while you get jan?" Roman smiled and nodded,giving his younger brother to his twin. "Rewe!" "Hey squirt! cmon let's go make some crofters and pancakes."

Roman smiled and went to the crib. Janus was already awake and babbling baby talk to his snake plushie. Roman clapped wich grabbed janus' attention. The baby immediately reached out for his brother,who took him into his arms. Roman walked out the room with janus on his hip,Emile having already ran down the stairs at the sound of crofters.

When Roman arrived everyone was lined up against the wall,Logan was holding Patton's hand and Emile was clutching Remus' leg with remy on the other,Thomas settled on his hip.

Roman sighed and stood on the opposite side of Logan,making the younger feel a bit safer. Roman handed the 8 year old the baby,signing to him to keep him calm.

Kathy came in with a scowl as the new kid trembled behind her.Huh,she cracked already?

"Boys!" She snapped. All of them looked at her.Emile knowing by remus tapping his back three times "Yes ma'am?" The ones that could speak asked. "Roman Logan.I know you can talk." She seethed. Roman shook his head. Looking at the ground.He didn't feel safe enough to talk. Logan held janus tighter. He lost his voice ages ago

Kathy growled and grabbed the new kids wrist. "This is virgil. Virgil,You're going to learn what happens when you disobey!" She smirked. All the kids that could understand pressed against the wall further whilst roman got infront of them protectively. She let go of virgil's wrist.

Remus held his hand out indicating for virgil to come over, the boy was quick to rush to the older's side. "Roman are you going to take their punishment again?" She spoke darkly. Roman gave a harsh nod. Remus had all the children huddled close to him,tears spilling down his cheeks.

Kathy began walking to the basement door,roman followed.Before be went down he gave remus the signal to get the others to the hiding room.

Remus rushed the others to the kitchen and into the pantry where he pushed a secret door open and huddled the others inside,closing the doors behind them.

From the hiding room,you could still hear Roman's muffled screams as he was whipped and beat till he nearly passed out.

A few hours,maybe around 4, had past before the door opened,revealing Roman who smiled softly to the younger ones,though tears still tracked down his face and he was bruised everywhere "Well virgil..." The others froze as Roman used his hoarse voice. "Welcome to hell...".
