Here are some things that apply to many rps.

Most of the time characters don't go to the toilet, brush their teeth or wash as often as real life.

Most rps the characters either eat at weird times, eat too much or too little.

Some small phrases are repetitive in attempt to move the rp onward.

You have your character all figured out then after a bit in the rp you forget what your character is like mentally and start being yourself.

It can turn into a love rp in a flash.

Your character will develop randomly to make the story progress .e.g Once human, develops powers; randomly finds a talent not listed.

Your character explains in detail more than you would IRL so the other person knows things. e.g 
IRL: I-I'm scared of clowns because of a thing that happened when i was younger
RP: I-I'm very scared of clowns because when i was 7 years old---

You space out to try and think, you write the first idea that comes into your head and it suddenly turns into a weird situation

You get bored and write something simple like "He smiled" or if in a relationship "She kisses him"

Even if it's a reality rp, it definitely doesn't feel like reality.

When the two or more characters are apart the other person tends to wait by standing their or checks their phone instead of following.

Relationship rps tend to me 'omg i suddenly find you attractive in just a few months we will be married and have 20 children because the person who's controlling us can't think!" 

Scenarios are repeated inside the actual rp. 

Nobody acts the way your character does even if it's based off you.

Days go super fast and no one does the least amount of activity people do in the rp. In one day they eat, play a few games on a PS4, do something else with your character maybe even go out for food then its night time.

It tends to be as dramatic or intense as a dramatic reality tv show.
