Tears For Fears is the original artist for "Everbody Wants to Rule the World." The song was released in 1985. It won "Best Single" Brit Award in 1986.

Lorde's cover of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" was in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire OST in 2013 and later used in the Assassin's Creed Unity trailer in 2014.
