CAROLINE POV

I agreed to stay at least four days with him. And if something goes wrong again, I'll leave. Maybe for a year... or forever.

We were in the woods, as he held me tighter, like his life depend on it if he lets me go. I whispered"Jax." He pulled back smiling nervously and said"Would you like to go to our cabin?" I smiled and nodded"Yes, very much."
He held my hand and we walked to Patty's house.
The only way back was out the woods was to the river and then to Patty's.

As we got to the river again, no one was there except for a woman dressed in all black. She looked familiar. She turned around and I saw it was Clara. She smiled and held Jaxon like he was her son and said"I'm so sorry for your loss, sweetie. I know it's hard." He just whispered her a quick thank you.
She looked at me and then wrapped her arms around me and whispered lowly in my ear that even he couldn't hear "It's a good thing you're back. That boy needed you badly." And then I felt her fingers in my hair as she whispered again "It will be okay, Caroline. Jaxon's not him." She pulled back and I bit my bottom lip. I hated that she could read my mind but at the same, I was glad that she was there to assure me that everything will be fine. And I believe her.

Jaxon asked, "When did you get here?"

"Ten minutes ago. I'm going back home now."

"No, stay here. It's already night. You could go in the morning after breakfast."

She just smiled and nodded.

Jaxon showed her to the manor and gave her his old room to sleep comfortably. He wore his clothes and grabbed his bag.

After saying goodnight to Clara, we made our way to Patty's. Will opened the door, and as soon as he looked at us, he whispered"Finally." Making me smile. I went inside and told him"I'm gonna stay in our cabin." I saw Jaxon's lips curled up in a smile as I said the word 'our'. I asked, "Where's Patty?" Will replied"She's sleeping. Once we got home, she fainted like a bear." I smiled at his sarcasm for her and went into the room that they gave me for one night.

I had some things taken out, so, I put them in my bag. I picked up my night pills from the side table and put that in too. As soon as I walked out of the room, Jaxon took my bag away from me and carried it for me. I didn't say anything because I knew it was no use.

We walked to the cabin in silence. I watched him, noticed the difference. His hair had grown a little. The ends had reached the nape of his neck and they were pushed back and messier. I liked it.
His under eyes were purple like he hadn't been getting any sleep at all. He looked thin but had more muscles. His jawline was more sharpened. He wore a white shirt that was his but looked loose on him now. He smiled weakly catching me"What are you staring at?" I smiled back"You." He chuckled lazily and I asked, "You okay, Jax?" His smile disappeared and he lied "I'm fine." But I knew he wasn't "You know you can't lie to me." He nodded"I know." I stopped walking which made him stop too. I asked, "What's wrong?" He replied exhaustedly"Can we do this tomorrow, Care? I just wanna go to the cabin and sleep beside you for a while. Even twenty minutes will be perfect. Please?" I nodded my head and we began walking.

When we reached the cabin, he opened the door for me and everything looked the same.

He kept my bag on our bed and said"I'm gonna go and wash up, okay?" I nodded and he kissed my temple and went into the bathroom.

Something didn't felt right.

I unzipped my bag, and took out some of my clothes, and put them in the closet. When I came back, he was standing near the bag, with my pills in his hand. He looked at me "You started taking these again?" I just stayed quiet because I didn't want to answer. He looked at the bottle again "This is dated that you got them four months ago, why?" I just shrugged"I couldn't sleep." He kept reading the pill bottle again and for a moment I saw his eyes flicker to red then to brown. I took the pills from him "It's nothing that you need to worry about."

I kept the pills in my side draw and walked out to the kitchen. I took a glass and filled it with about a sip of tap water. I silently drank it and put the glass on the island. He walked to me and asked, "Are you on the pills again, Care?" His hand slowly pressed against my cheek and I sighed"Yes, Jaxon. I am. I needed to sleep and they help me." He smiled "Well, I hope you don't need them anymore because I'm not letting you go." He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into a warm hug. I patted his back and said, "I'm gonna go and take a shower, okay?" He didn't say anything. I pulled back and tried to walk past him.
But before I even could, I was spun around and he had pulled me to his chest, crushing his lips on mine. I kissed him back with the same passion as he did
I slowly felt his hands sliding up inside my shirt and to my bra hook. He was about to unhook it, I grabbed his hands stopped him. Pushing them away, I whispered "Not today, Jaxon." He rested his forehead against mine and I heard him say"Then when Caroline?" I pulled back and he looked angry. He growled through his gritted teeth" When?!" He lightly pushed me and I could not believe that he did that. He said"Sweet, sweet, Caroline. Turning this big bad wolf into a softie again." I looked at him in confusion.

He started clapping as I tried to create some space between us by walking backward "You're the best mate a person could ask for. Always gotta live by your rules because you're the one who gets to decide when I get to touch you or when we need space."

"SIX MONTHS!" I flinched at his outburst. He continued"I WAITED SIX MONTHS FOR YOU. DESPERATE FOR YOU. MY HEART LONGING FOR YOU BUT YOU NEVER CAME!" I walked back as he tried to get closer to me. His eyes glowing bloody red "WHEN IS IT MY TURN TO MAKE DECISIONS?! WHEN DO I GET TO TOUCH YOU WHENEVER AND WHEREVER I WANNA TOUCH YOU?!" I whimpered "Jaxon, please stop."

"I AM DONE LISTENING TO YOUR BULLSHIT. I AM DONE LETTING YOU TELL ME TO STOP. I AM FUCKING DONE, CAROLINE!" He pushed the glass off the island, letting it break on the floor. My eyes were beginning to tear as he said "Tonight is the night I'm gonna take you. Tonight you will submit to me." His canines extended and his voice gotten heavier"Tonight, I mark you as mine, Caroline. ONLY MINE!"

He snarled as he grabbed me and held my arms against my back, holding them with one hand. Making me helpless. I screamed"Jaxon, no! Please, You're hurting me!" He held my jaw tightly with his other hand and said "The only mine. Oh, the hunger I've had for you after that night when you got aroused. When I touched you that night for the first time." he trailed the back of his fingers on my cheek"From that night, I wanted you, I needed you. I was famished" And trailed his fingers down my neck and to my collar bone, making me whimper in fear again.
He pushed me against the wall and held me still by grabbing my neck in a tight but not painful grip. It's tight enough to make me cry.

He leaned in and run his nose up and down my cheek, making me scared by his touch for the first time. I didn't felt safe anymore- I felt disgusted.
He inhaled my scent and said, "For six months, I came in this cabin after every stressful day to just smell your scent to calm me down." His claws extended from his fingers nails. He lightly pulled up my shirt and slowly trailed his sharp claws from beneath my navel to my ribs making me suck in my stomach and making me sick from that touch.
I cried"Please, Jaxon. Don't do this. Don't make me go through this again." My words got him angrier "Again? Someone has touched you before me and I will not let it happen after me. That is why you need to get marked and mated. So you'll live with my scent for the rest of your life, and no man will ever come near you without knowing that you belong to me, Caroline. No man will ever dream of touching you when I'm done marking you." He held the collar of my shirt and ripped it from the top, exposing my shoulder, clawing his nails from under my jawline to my neck and then my shoulder. I clenched my eyes because I was truly scared of him. His other hand that was on my stomach, went lower to my navel and he unbuttoned my jeans. I tried to move, but he was too strong. He slowly undid the zip and his breathing getting deeper like he was slowly getting aroused by this. Like he enjoyed my fear.

He purred, picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder as I silently cried, begging him to let me go but he didn't listen and made his way to the room.
He dropped me flat on the bed and I tried to get away. But ended up being pushed against the mattress again.
He hovered over me, between my legs, and clenched my hair from the top of my head, lightly pulling on the hair so I would expose my shoulder to him. He started leaving wet kisses down my neck and I cry "You don't wanna do this, Jax."He looked back at me "Oh, I've wanted to do this for a long time."

His canines extended and I began screaming "PLEASE, JAXON, I BEG YOU. I love you, don't do it." He laughed like an evil person" Ah, the love word. Do you know the number of times, I've waited for you to say that to me. I waited every day until you finally said it. But I'll love it, even more, when you keep saying it after we mark you."

Before he could sink his teeth in my shoulder, he was forcefully pulled away from me. I looked up to who it was that pulled him away and I didn't expect him.

It was Kane.

Claude held Jaxon back. But Jaxon kept snarling and growling at his father. Will ran into the cabin and helped his father and I saw Clara too.
She helped me up and I covered myself before the three men. Buttoning and zipping up my jeans as she throws her knitted shawl around me. Holding me as the tears of fear doesn't stop falling down my cheeks

Jaxon was too strong for Will and Claude. It was hard to keep him back and under control. Will kept shouting"Jaxon think about what you're doing. It's Caroline!" He broke apart from them and tried to run towards me. He almost caught me when I closed my eyes and screamed but Kane pushed him back to Claude and Will again. Jaxon clawed at them nonstop as they struggled to keep him away from me. His white shirt staining red with their blood but they didn't even move like they couldn't even feel anything.

I asked Clara "What the hell is happening to him?!" She replied"The heat. You can't feel it because you're human, he's not. He's feeling your side of the heat too which is making it unbearable for him as he's acting out his darkest side" I looked back at Jaxon and he smiled"I'm gonna get you, baby!"

He beat up Will and Claude. He threw Will to the other side and Claude too. When he was about the charge at me, Kane roared at him, his eyes silver. Making Jaxon take a step back in fear.

I asked, "What's going on now?"

"Kane is the Alpha King. And he just challenged Jaxon. If Jaxon accepts the fight then it won't stop until one of them is dead."

Kane shouted, "Jaxon stop!" Clara took something out of her bag and ran to Jaxon, blowing some kind of powder on his face. And within a second, Jaxon dropped on the floor unconscious. Kane asked, heaving "What did you do?" She shrugged"Some wolfsbane dust never hurt anyone."

I slowly went towards Jaxon and bent down to see if he was okay. I touched his face and said, "He's burning." Clara felt his skin and said"The heat is too much. We need to get his body temperature to the lower side." Will got up and Claude as well and both of their faces were beaten up but started healing. Their shirts were almost ripped apart and the slashes Jaxon had given them were fully healed now. Claude asked, "What now?" She replied, "This boy needs an ice bath."

Will come back to the cabin with 5 bags of ice. While Kane and Claude gently put Jaxon in the bathtub. Claude turned on the faucet as the tub filled with water while Kane and Will put ice in the tub.

When they were done, Clara said"He's good for about an hour and then he should be back to normal." I asked, "Are you sure?" She nodded her head as she put her hand on his cheek "Positive." She turns around and whispers lowly to me "It's not your fault." She gave me a tiny bottle of wolfsbane "This is wolfsbane. If something goes south, blow this on his face, okay?" I nodded my head with a smile.

Will walked out of the bathroom and I went behind him. He said"I'm sorry. I should've come sooner." I shook my head"It's okay, at least you came. How did you know?" He replied"The Alpha King mind linked me and father. We came here as soon as we could."
Claude and Clara came out and I said"Thank you... all of you... for coming and helping me." Will and Clara smiled and Claude just nods.

They left and I went in the bathroom and Kane was standing there. I had to thank him.
I said, "Thank you, Alpha King." I saw his fist clench and he said"I didn't do it for you. I did it for my son because I know that if he had taken you with force, he wouldn't be able to live with himself." He just said that and walked past me.
I sat on the white tiles, besides the bathtub and put my hand in the tub. But as soon as I felt the ice-cold water, I pulled my hand back. I touched his forehead and he was still warm. His body felt like it was burning.

I don't know when but I fell to sleep on the floor right beside him.

I woke up to the sound of moving water and crunch ice and groaning. My eyes opened and I saw he was slowly gaining consciousness. He looked at me with his red glowing eyes but I backed away, standing up and grabbing the bottle Clara gave me.

He looked around and asked in confusion"What happened? Why am I in freaking ice?" He looked at me and asked, "Why is your shirt torn apart?" I looked at him and couldn't do anything but be scared. Slowly his eyes widened with realization and began tearing up"I did that, didn't I? I hurt you. Right?" I stayed silent. He rose in the bathtub and I backed away more. He held his hands up in surrender and said"I'm so sorry Care. I'm so sorry. I didn't know what I was doing."
He slowly got but kept his distance from me. His clothes were drenched in cold water and stained with blood. He pushed his hair back and admitted with a whisper"I don't like it when you're scared of me." He went to his knees, crying "I'm so sorry, Caroline. I never meant to hurt you. Please. I'm so sorry." His voice broke"I'm sorry. Just, please don't leave me again. I'm so sorry you had to see me that way." I was tearing up too. He looked down to himself and held his shirt. He cried as he saw the blood and then looked up at me again. Crying nonstop in fear and panic, begging me to forgive him. I held his face but he didn't look at me until I pulled his face up so he could see my face as I stated with honesty "It's not my blood. It's not mine. You did nothing wrong. You didn't hurt me." He wrapped his arms around my waist and kept whispering against my stomach "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. Don't leave me again." he was shivering. I got on my knees but he pulls me in his lap, hugging me tighter. His face buried in my chest, his back shaking. I whispered, my voice barely balanced "Shhh... I know. It's okay. It wasn't your fault."

"I'm so sorry, baby."

"I know." My fingers were in his hair as I tried to calm him down "Shh, It's okay. Everything is fine. I'm here with you. And I'm not gonna leave you again "

After crying for a little while more, he wanted to change his clothes, so I left him with a fresh pair of sweat pants and a shirt. I had to change my clothes too and laid in bed, waiting for him. I was still terrified of him but I knew it wasn't his fault.

He came out of the bathroom. His eyes were red from crying and so was his nose. He said, "I'll be in the other room." And walked out before I could even say anything.

I followed him and went inside the room that he just went into. He sat on the corner of the bed, with his face in his hands. I sat beside him and without looking, he said"I can't imagine what would've happened if Alpha King didn't pull me back from you. I would've marked you forcefully and I know I couldn't have lived with myself if I did. I'm sorry. Even sorry doesn't cover the things I did and the words I said to you. I'd understand if you wanna leave by tomorrow and I won't stop you, Caroline. I won't. But I won't come to say goodbye either."
He looked at me and his eyes were glossy. A tear fell on his cheek. There was nothing but regret, shame, self-hatred, and hurt in his eyes. I held his hand and said"I'm not going anywhere, Jax. Not anymore. And all this is my fault. Not yours. I'm the one who hadn't let you touch me. I thought about myself because that's what I've been doing all my life. I didn't know how to think about someone else." He looked me in the eye and said"It's not your fault." I smiled at this beautiful sweet man"It's not yours either."

I climbed into the bed and he just looked at what I was doing. I lied down and held my arms up. I said, "Come on, I've missed this too much."
He looked at me and shook his head "I can't." He tried leaving but I grabbed his hand and pulled him closer to me. "Please, Jax" slowly pulling him down to lay on my chest and I wrapped my arms around him. Holding him close to me.

This is the feeling I've longed for. This is the feeling of contentment that I've been waiting for. It was him that I needed all my life. It was him that I needed to protect me from my past.
