CAROLINE POV

I felt amazing. My body aches with sweet pain.

I opened my eyes and saw him lying on his stomach, hugging his white pillow, gazing at me as his lips stretched into the biggest smile "Good morning." I smiled back at him and he leaned forward and kissed the corner of my lips "I love you."

There was an urge inside of me that wanted to say it back. I grabbed him by the back of his neck, crashing his lips on mine, and said"I love you too."

He pulls back with eyes wide in shock but with a smile still playing on his lips"You love me?" I smile at this sweet beautiful man and say against his lips "I love you, Jaxon... and Tanner" I put my palm against his cheek and he turns his head, pinning kisses on my palm thrice and asking me again "You love me?" I nodded again, making him believe"I love you."

Jaxon had promised me that he would give me a tour of the pack... FINALLY!

It's been more than a week since I've been here and I haven't still seen anything. I wanted to meet Lucinda as well. I wanted to see how was she doing.

I sat on the kitchen island, checking my e-mails from work while Jaxon took a shower.

"Caroline."

I looked up as he called my name and he was only in his black jeans hanging low on that sexy V line of his. His hair was completely wet put pushed back. He walks over to me with a big smile but I just looked at him in confusion and a little grin at the way he was walking. Happy as a penguin.

He stood in front of me and I knew that smile was no good. Grabbing my calves, he pulled me to the edge of the island, against him.
I wrapped my legs around his waist and he was still smiling without looking away. I kept my phone down on the marble and looked at him with squinted eyes "Why are you smiling, Moon?" He just shrugged and said"Because I'm happy, Quinn"

"About?" I ask but he kisses me instead of an answer.

He pulls back and lightly rubs the tip of his nose against mine"Say it again." He had made me say ' I love you ' at least five times since morning. But I wanted to play with him a little. I shook my head and that smile of his turned into a scowl as I tried to hold a smile back. He pouted "Please?" I giggled and still shook my head. His hands slowly went to my inner thighs and straight to my heart. Rubbing me on my jeans making me hiss. He smiled like a devil and asked"Are you sure, Care?" I bit my lip because I was only a second close to moaning. He slowly trailed his tongue from my collar bone to my neck, making me shiver in delight. My toes curled and I pulled him closer to me. He left a sloppy kiss on my jawline and asked again"Are you still sure?" He was still rubbing down there. Trying to break me. But I gave up too soon. I moaned"I give up... I love you, Jaxon Moon."

He stopped and wrapped his arms around my waist, hugging me. He whispered, "I love you too." Making me smile like an idiot.

After he heard me say I love you, four more times, he finally decided that it was time for him to show me around.

We walked out of our cabin, hand in hand to our way into the woods.

I said truthfully"I'm excited to see the things you wanted to show me." He kissed the back of my hand he was holding and said"Me too."

As we arrived at the start of the territory, everyone looked at us. They still weren't getting used to the fact that I was Jaxons mate. A human mate. It hurts but I eventually learned to ignore them. But ignoring didn't mean that I didn't need his support. I guided his hand around my waist but he knew what I needed. Wrapping his arm around my waist, he pulls me closer to him as we walked. The way he looked at them with a light growl from his chest made everyone go back to what they were doing. I whisper a thank you under my breath and he kisses my temple, calming me down.

It was a big territory. I looked at the white mansion and it took me back to the day Kane wanted to see me. It still made me mad. He asked "You okay? Why are you getting angry?" I said, "Because I don't like people staring at me, Jaxon." It was half true. He holds me tighter "How about we go and pay Luna Queen a visit in the manor?" I smiled at him and said, "I'd like that."

I was once acquainted with the Moon family paintings again. His grip on my waist got a little tighter as he stared at the wall, at his name on the golden plate. I look up at him and I hated to see him like this. So angry, so hurt. I asked, "You okay?" He looks at me with a smile "Yeah, let's go." He was disgusted at the empty spot that was left for him. He scoffed "I wish that someone takes this place after my father so the weight on my shoulders can lift off. I hate my name on that wall. And I hate myself that I was once proud of it. He got that nameplate made when I was twelve and told me that I would be taking over after him. Got me excited to the point I'd run downstairs just to stare at this for hours and hours till my mother had to scold me because I wasn't doing my homework."

We walked inside the golden elevator and without thinking, I pressed the 7th-floor button. He asks "Why'd you press that?" I ignored his question and wrap my arms around his waist "Are you okay?" He smiles at me that didn't reach his beautiful brown eyes and said"I'm fine." Pecking the tip of my nose.

I knew he won't let that go but right now, I wasn't in the mood of telling him anything. Not when I'm angry myself.

When we reached the 7th floor I saw that sign again
' Alpha King Office ' I asked"Are we gonna meet Alpha King?" He shook his head "No, the Luna Queen only. I'm not in the mood to handle another logic-less fight with him." Removing his arm from around my waist he grabs my hand and takes left instead of right.

We walked through this gorgeous blue royalty corridor that had windows from the ceiling to floor. I looked at him as he walked with a thin line on his lips. I couldn't deny the fact that royalty does suit him. He is royalty even if he doesn't accept that.

We reached the end of the hall, in front of giant golden double doors. He took a deep breath and knocked. I looked at the knobs and they were the same design as the one in Kane's office. The caretaker opened the door and let us in.

The room itself was a combination of blue and gold.
The curtains were gold and looked royalty. There were two balconies with golden frames. And in the middle of this royalty room was a king-sized golden bed with silk blue drapes.

I looked at Lucinda lying down with her back rested against the headboard. Looking more weaker than I saw her yesterday. Wearing two layers of sweaters even when it was warm outside. My heart ached for her. She smiled at us both and said"My pup is back." Making Jaxon smile. He let goes of my hand and walks to the bed, sitting in the corner and taking her in his arms. I watch a smile of satisfaction spread across her lips because of his warmth. I knew it all too well. He buried his face in her neck and holds her tighter. He might hate his father but the love he holds for his mother makes me almost tear up. She looked tiny in his arms. It was that moment that I wished I had a parent. A mother.

When Jaxon let go, Lucinda smiled at me and said"You're his mate... so you get a hug too." I looked at Jaxon smiling at me as he holds out his arm, calling me

I wanted that hug. I've missed it.

I put all of my pride aside and ran to her arms, letting her take me in her embrace. So this is what it feels like? The hug of a mother? Is warmth the right feeling? She rubs her cold hand up and down my back and I bit my lip trying to hold my tears.
Her perfume smelled like vanilla and it was amazing.

When I pulled back, I looked at her as she smiled at me. I look to turn my head at Jaxon as he had a smile of his own on his face. My cheeks were all red because of the fact I had run into her arms. I stepped back and apologized"Sorry." They both chuckled at me making me feel like a happy fool. Jaxon wrapped his arms around and I even chuckled at myself.

The Luna coughed and the caretaker ran beside her with a glass of water, giving it to her. She said to us"The Luna Queen should take her nap."

I nodded in understanding and Jaxon kissed her mother's cheek and said"I'll come to visit you at night, okay?" She just smiled and asked, "Why don't you stay here so you could visit me every night?" He just smiles again and kisses her temple.

We were about to go out, she stopped me"Caroline, I need to have a word with you... alone, please." I looked at Jaxon and he said"I'll be right outside." I nodded as the doors closed as he walked out. The Luna told the caretaker as well"Give me 5 minutes." She nodded her head as well and left the room. Leaving me and her. She patted the space beside her on the bed and I sat there, beside her. She said, "I know what Kane tried to do." I whipped my gaze at her and asked"You do?" She nodded her head, looking disappointed in her mate "Kane is not a bad guy. But he worries for the pack too much. He just won't accept that Jaxon has a human as his mate. It will take some time to get through him, Caroline. Just don't leave Jaxon whatsoever. There might be doubts building inside your head but remember that you were chosen for him for a reason. He's lucky to have you. Not the other way around." I smiled as she holds my hand "Do you love him? If you were a wolf I'd never ask that... but in all my fifty-six years of life, I've never seen a human mate before."

"I love him. I do. So much that sometimes it hurts."

She smiled and said "I know the feeling. I remember the day when every one of his friends was finding their mate, and after every Mating Season, he'd come to my room, get in bed, and made me hold him in my arms while his father worked in his office. He'd sometimes cry asking me when will it be my turn. And I'd wipe his tears and say not until the moon goddess wants you to have one." She looks up at me "Now it's his turn." She holds my face and pulls me towards her, kissing my cheek "I'm glad it's you."

We got interrupted by the nurse and she said"The Luna Queen should get her rest."

I nodded and walked out. Jaxon waiting for me.
The doors closed behind us and he asked"So, what did she say?" I asked, "You didn't listen?" He shook his head"The doors are soundproof for wolves." I just answered"Nothing more. Just about you crying every night for a mate." He scrunched up his nose and complained "Why would she tell you that?!" I chuckle and wrap my arms around his waist pulling him closer as he rests his head down on my shoulder. I teased "I'm glad she did. You should be lucky to have me." His head whips up and he grabs my face, pecks my lip, and says "Oh, I tell myself that every day. Sometimes I think I'm dreaming when I wake up. And sometimes I think you're not real." I turn my head and pin a kiss against his palm "I'm real. And I'm here."

The pack mansion was amazing. It had kitchens on every floor. Kitchens that a baker and a chef would dream about. He showed me where all the pack has their dinner every Friday as one big family.

We walked to the last door that had a sign that said 'Keep out! ' in big bold red letters on a yellow sticker. It was a brown door but with a gold doorknob as well. And there were scratches on the door. I turned my finger into claws and traced the mark. It was like a human scratch. I looked at him and he rubbed the back of his neck "Teenage me... was an angry pup." I just nodded my head and we went inside.

It was a modern and cozy room. Not what I expected. I expected something more royal.
There was a silver M on top of his bed. I asked"M for Moon?" He nodded and said, "Totally was proud of that name." I sat on the edge of his bed, looking around the room. It was big but perfect. I noticed that there weren't any pictures.

I asked"No pictures?"

"Alpha King used to say that pictures make a man weak."

I lied on his bed and said"Hmm... comfy." He lied beside me and smiled"Just like I remember." I propped on my elbows and said"You know, we could move in here and sleep in this comfy bed for a couple of days." He said "Nice try."
I sat on him, straddling him and he chuckled"Are you trying to make me re-live my high school moments? Because this is working."
I rested my hands beside his head and said"Listen to me. Let's move in here for a couple of days. Your mom will be happy." He scoffed"A couple of days under the same roof as Alpha King? No, thank you." He tried to get up, but I pushed him down again "Please, for me." I almost begged. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me flat on him and said"You know I'd give my life for you, but I can't do this."

I had to play his game.

I lightly grind my hips on him and instantly his eyes turned red. I brushed my lips against him, asking nicely"Please?" He tried to kiss me but I pulled back every time, teasing him on purpose. He shivers"Have mercy." He gave up in just seconds"Fine! Fine. We'll move in. But just for 3 days. Deal?" I stopped grinding and said"Deal!" And kissed his cheek. He grabbed me and turned us over, keeping himself between my legs, and started kissing me. I warned, "You better tell me this room is wolf proof too, Moon." He left a trail of kisses down my neck and said in his husky voice"Thank goddess that it is."

Someone knocked on the door and Jaxon stopped and rested his forehead against my shoulder "I regret moving in here already." He pecked my cheek and got up from me. I sat up as he opens the door. Kane stood outside. He looked straight at me and said"The prisoner calls for you again."
