My body jolted up in my sheets a loud scream bellowing through my ears, it took a few moments for me to realise it was my own screams. I quickly wiped the sweat from my forehead my shoulders rose and fell at a ridiculous speed as I heard Peter speed walking down the hallway. He causiously peered around the door frame checking for any dangers but soon realised I was alone in my room. I quickly turned my bedside lamp on dimly lighting the room.
"Don't worry Peter it was just a dream. Go back to sleep." I say calming the boy as he stood in the hallway with his webshooters strapped on his wrist.
"Wait, are you okay?" He questions walking over to the bed and sitting on the edge of it. "I am fine, really." I tell him. I wasn't lying, I really was get this dream a lot.
"You want to tell me about your dream?" He said softly. I looked down at the white sheets and noticed my fists clenched in bunches of my blanket. I quickly released the sheets from my grasp and looked back up to Peter.
"I had a dream about my brother," I whispered. "I didn't know you had a brother." Peter mentioned.
"Not many people do, I don't tell people because he is dead." I told him. His eyes ran wide with sadness, sympathy, something I didn't need from him.
"You and Mr Stark must've been through a lot." He murmured. "Peter, no," I shook my head. "Tony isn't my biological father." His eyes sprang with shock.
"Thought it was weird that you called him Tony." Peter spoke, he tried to keep causal. "Yeah he has been my legal guardian for six and a half years now." I stated running a hand through my short black hair.
"I am guessing you are from Australia?" Peter asked and I nodded softly. "Are you sure you're okay?" He added.
"Yeah its okay, really." I say in a convincing tone. "Well okay, I am going back to sleep now." He says getting up from the edge of my bed and towards the door.
"Peter," I say attracting his attention as he took his webshooter off and held it in his hands. "Yeah?" He asked with a worried frown. "Can you stay here?" I whispered. He looked at me for a moment and then his surroundings.
"Uh yeah." He whispered a little awkwardly. He slowly stepped closer to my bed placing his webshooter on the bedside table closest to him. I opened the blankets for him and he got under the covers. He got comfortable in the blankets and turned his head to face me.
"You okay?" I asked softly. "Yeah," He replied with a small smile. I looked over to the dim lighted lamp and decided to leave it on. I moved closer to Peter who didn't seem to protest and I layed my head on his chest. His arm snaked over my torso and I listened to his slow and relaxed heart beat. I placed my hand over his body and srunched my legs up so my knees where touching Peter's sides.
"Goodnight Robin," I smiled to myself. "Goodnight Batman," He replied softly.
My eyes flickered open and I saw blankets, the room was lit with natural light. My head rested on a surface that steadily rose and fell, I quickly remembered that I was laying on Peter and a small smile tugged at my lips. I felt his limp hand over my torso I knew he was already awake, staring at the roof. But I wanted to lay like this forever. I glanced over at the decorative clock on the wall making sure my movements were minimal.
It was 8: 12 am. Until it hit me that today was the day Peter had to go home to his aunt. A small wave of sadnsss washed over me, a sadness I didn't understand.
"It's your last day," I suddenly stated. "Oh, I didn't know you were awake, uh yeah I guess it is." He whispered. "And then you go home and go to school tomorrow and the world goes round." I say staring at his hand draped over my side.
I heard my phone go off and I used my powers to bring it over to me. Green hues wrapped around my phone until it landed in my hands.
"Whoa that's so cool," Peter says. I opened my phone and saw an angry message from Tony as I hadn't told him when I got home last night. Followed by a sorry message because he had to go to his remote facility but out of eye distance from the edge of the city. He also said he hopes to be back before Peter has to leave.
I heard loud car horns from outside, many car horns. I forced myself out of Peter's arms much to my dismay and went towards my balcony inside my room and opened the blinds. Outside it was pouring rain and there were cars all down the roads a large traffic jam covering the streets.
"There was a crash," I say looking out the window. I couldn't see the car crash from here but I knew it was bad. I could feel it.
"What? Where?" Peter said in a hurried tone rushing over to the glass dooor I stood at. "Oh my god," He mumbled.
"Is anyone hurt?" He asked me, I could see he felt guilty that he wasn't there to help. I shut my eyes and concentrated really hard on the accident, I could see the cars piled up and the people yelling. I saw police officers redirecting traffic to the smaller roads, clogging them. I saw a white truck smashed up against three other cars, an ambulance was present. From what I felt no one had died, only minor injuries. I reopened my eyes to see Peter staring at me.
"No, only minor injuries," I stated. "I didn't know I could do that." I added. Peter looked down to his feet. I placed my comforting hand on the side of his shoulder.
"It's not your fault, everything happens for a reason." I say and he nodded slightly.
