With Yukino Aguria excommunicated from Sabertooth immediately at the night of her loss against Kagura Mikazuchi, she took her belongings to head to Lucy Heartfilia's rented apartment. At the same time, Rogue was walking at the guild's inn, thinking over Master Jiemma's decision.

He started questioning about the way the guild treats its members, stating that no matter what, Yukino was still a comrade, to which Sting shrugged it off by saying that the guild only allows the strong to stay.

"And where have you been right after the event?"

Rogue stopped in his tracks as the question came from Sting. He simply stood his ground, not wavering at all. "Just around."

"Let me ask again then," gSting turned to face his partner, stepping closer to him."Who were you with after the events?"

"What I do, where I go or who I associate with is none of your business, Sting." was all Rogue answered. There was no way he was going to involve you with the guild or even worse, Master Jiemma. Sting yanked and pulled onto the collar of his cape, baring his teeth.

"But you shouldn't be getting involved with some girl from Fairy Tail!" Sting hollered. Rogue gripped onto Sting's arm and shoved the latter away from him. (Its hard to be mad at your favorite character.. (Sting Eucclife.)

"She is not officially part of the guild, and there is nothing wrong for me to associate with her." Rogue's eyes narrowed. Immediately, the magic pressure around them rose as the two Dragon Slayers exchanged a heated glare.

Lector immediately noticed the tensed atmosphere around those two and tried to intervene before things got worse.

Why is Rogue even fighting for a mere girl? And a close companion of Fairy Tail at that. He doesn't know, but it has to be because she knows Gajeel. Yes, that's it.

Or so he thought.

Next Morning, before the first event.

Rogue's crimson eyes scanned around the spot where the Fairy Tail mages are, wondering if you were among them. He earned occasional glares from Sting everytime the latter caught him looking at the rival guild.

That was when his eyes met yours.

You gave a small smile before looking ahead, knowing that it is too risky show that you two knew each other there, lest the tension between the two guilds will rise, knowing that Natsu Dragneel had wrecked havoc to their guild last night.

Rogue then backed away as he slipped into the shadows, heading to the place near the staircase where usually no one went. He only allowed himself to be seen as he saw you approaching. You bowed your head slightly, and he inwardly sighed. Why are you still so formal with him?

"Uh, Rogue... I heard that last night, Natsu..." you started, not daring to look up at the Shadow Dragon Slayer. When he didn't answer, you simply continued. "S-So, I want to ask if you are okay. I mean,I know you're strong, but so is Natsu-"

Your eyes widened when he suddenly pulled you into his arms, pressing himself onto the dark part of the wall, one hand around your waist while the other at the back of your head. He quickly told you to endure it for a few moments. Your face flushed as you realised that he was technically hugging you. Your head rested on the crook of his neck, your body pressed up against his.

You couldn't help but to notice how good he smelled. It's not like you intended to do it, but with the position you are in, you couldn't help it. You heard his heart beating slightly faster than usual, and you were unsure if it was due to the awkward position or because-

There were few people talking nearby. After they had left. Rogue loosened his hold on you, although he still didn't let go. You imagined him having a slight frown on his face as he spoke in a hushed whisper.

"I am one of the strongest mages in the strongest guild of Fiore. I am also a Dragon Slayer who had killed my own dragon parent. Such a thing won't take me down. After all, I didn't even get involved in the commotion." he said. You smiled slightly and giggled.

"Well, sorry." you apologised, although you didn't really sound that sorry. Rogue raised an eyebrow, wondering what was so funny. "I didn't know I'd kill your ego by worrying about you."

Rogue's eyes widened slightly before he looked away, feeling his heart speed up slightly. You sensed that he was slightly embarrassed, and you let out another giggle.

"You probably should go before the others ask why you were gone for so long." Rogue suddenly said, and an apparent frown formed on your face as another thought struck you. So he's one of the strongest mages, is that why he didn't want you to get close?

You realised that you had said your thought aloud. Rogue shook his head before explaining himself. "It's the other way round. What do you think would happen if any of the Fairy Tail mages saw you with someone from Sabertooth?"

Both of you clearly knew the answer to that.

When the crowd's cheer suddenly broke the silence, both of you realised that you were staring into each other's eyes, holding onto each other. Rogue instantly let go of you. You cleared your throat, feeling slightly embarrassed.

"Erza Scarlet is going to handle the 100 demons alone. Let's go to somewhere where there is no one else around. "Rogue decided. You nodded in agreement, letting out a soft gasp as a warm hand wrapped around yours. You stared at your hand in his despite not being able to see it. Your face flushed slightly, noticing how his hand is big compared to yours.

As he turned, you heard the movement from his cape, and despite not having your sight, you could imagine how cool he looked against the slightly shine of sunlight. Well,a girl can dream, right?

As you two made your way up to the highest floor, a certain figure lurks in the corner, eyes narrowing as both of you were spotted.
