First chapter to go back and fox my previous mistakes. If you read the original and want to reread it to see what I changed go ahead, but if you're reading this for the first time then don't worry about it!

"HA! I'm gonna beat you, Sun!" Heather called as she sped past on her Razorwhip, Windshear.

"Oh yeah Heather? We'll see about that!" Sun retorted to his competition.

It had been five years since Hiccup had been "banished" and "disowned" from Berk, and boy, he was living the high life. He had ditched the name "Hiccup" for the one had had come up with on the spot all those years ago, "Sun." Toothless had decided to change his name to Nightstalker, which he said was a much more fitting name for a Night Fury that no one knew. Of course they both called each other their real names, and their friends knew them for who they really were, they simply decided not to call them those names.

There was Heather and Windshear, who were originally two rogues that had actually visited Berk, but had been turned away for having the same type of bond Sun and Nightstalker did. Later she met her long lost brother Daggur the Deranged, who was originally a Berserker, but later trained a Gronckle he named Shattermaster and joined his sister as a Rider.

Yes, he had a small team of Dragon Riders.

There was also another pair of siblings named Viggo and Ryker, and although they were both adults, still for the most part listened and contributed as much as the other Riders. Viggo, although was younger by a year or two, was a tactical genius and came up with some amazingly foolproof plans. Ryker had much more of a direct approach and mindset, and liked swinging his specialty sword. The Grimsborne siblings rode a red Zippleback they named Brain and Brawn respectively, and were in charge of trade management for the Riders. The siblings used to be in trading live dragons for untrustworthy reasons until they met Sun, and then changed when they saw how training dragons was much more effective and had a true change of heart. Now they simply traded renewable things like scales, Gronckle iron, Monstrous Nightmare gel, things that were profitable and easy to come by as a Rider.

And then the last Rider was named Minden. She was a Wingmaiden, one of a tribe who raise Razorwhips in place of their dragon parents due to the males killing off the offspring of rival males. About half the year she flew and took care of a baby Razorwhip, and the other half she flew using the DragonFly 2.0- one of Sun's inventions that everyone except himself and Minden think is a horrible idea. When the Riders first met the Wingmaidens, only Heather was allowed onto the island due to the Razorwhip's instinct to attack any and all males no matter their species. After a couple hours Heather came back and explained all this, and then introduced Minden as a new addition to the Riders. Sun was at first very confused and astounded, but eventually gave in after hearing Minden's addition was an order from the Wingmaiden's leader, Atali, for the Wingmaidens to better understand the Rider's ways of being partners with dragons.

Sun changed the gear on Nightstalker's tail and whipped past Heather, once again in the lead.

"Oh come ON! How am I always last?" Daggur complained from the back of their mini race.

"Maybe if you actually tried you could beat us?" Viggo taunted, getting Shattermaster riled up and pick up an extra boost of speed.

"Viggo!" Ryker complained, now they were in last.

"Oh come one dear brother, it's just this once. Make him feel good about winning, and then win from then on. That way we'll all get home sooner if he's always thinking he can win from this." Viggo explained his plan, to which Ryker rolled his eyes.

"Whatever. I say always win."

"And I beg to differ."

"HEY! Is that really why you insult me half the time!" Daggur asked from below them.

"Will you guys just please stop this? You've had this conversation more than once you know," Sun called back to them, using the wind to carry his voice.

"Yes please! This is the third time in the past two days." Minden snuck underneath them and used their dragons' claws to launch her forward. Currently, she was without a Razorwhip young until the next group hatched in a few months. "Good day Sun! Heather!" she greeted, tying with the two leaders as the other boys complained in the background.

"Nice day to lose, isn't in Min?" Heather asked. Minden shrugged, which is hard to do while flying without a dragon.

"Just for you, maybe!" she grabbed Windshear's tail, and the Razorwhip immediately startled started swinging her tail around. Not only did Heather lose speed from that, but it also sent Minden flying forward.

"Always one for the tricks, aren't you Min?" Sun laughed. She had used that move on the two fastest many times, and it still worked.

"You know me, Sun! Girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! Now, see ya'll back at the Edge."

"Not if I can help it, you slimy eel!" Toothless roared.

"HEY!" both Minden and Sun scolded in Dragonese. Being raised as caretakers of dragons, the Wingmaidens knew of the draconic language, but an accident when Minden was first training to take care of her charges allowed her to gain the ability to speak directly to dragons. Sun had also mastered the language, and it made training dragons like the Triple Strike a heck of alot easier.

Nightstalker somehow put on another burst of speed, determined to win this race, "How do you even go this fast?" Sun asked in wonder, having to put his mask down because of the winds.

"Never underestimate the awesome power of a Night Fury, that's how!" Nightstalker replied, getting a laugh from his rider. "

Sure, sure. Like how you managed to blow up those explosives we found once with your echolocation?" Sun teased.

"...Shut up." Sun laughed again and brought himself closer to his dragon's body as they flew to maximize aerodynamics, and the Rider waved at Minden as they passed.

"Darn you with a Night Fury!" she cursed jokingly, to which Nightstalker whacked her with his tail. Sun immediately looked back and checked on it; having the prosthetic tail like that was a risky maneuver.

The girl in the wingsuit immediately slowed down to regain control, pushing her back to where the Grimsborne brothers and Daggur were.

"Back to actual competition, eh?" Heather asked, joining him again in second.

"Just for you!" Sun retorted as Nightstalker dived towards their base, the rest of them having to fall to a halt so they wouldn't completely pass over their base.

"Darn you and your Night Fury, Sun! You always win!" Minden complained once again once all the Riders were on the ground.

"Says the girl with the wingsuit, you always cheat!" Daggur complained.

"No one's ever told me I can't. And technically, it's not cheating. We do it all the time in battle." Minden pointed out.

"Yes, I think she's got a point Daggur." Ryker agreed, and Minden high-fived the fearsome bald warrior.

"Come on now, let's just calm down and relax. Anyone up for lamb chops tonight?" Heather offered, and immediately Daggur started jumping around excited for his sister's signature dish.

Sun watched his friends from the side, smiling and laughing at their antics.

"Hiccup?"

"Fish face?"

"NO! Seriously?" Toothless deadpanned next to Hiccup.

"Gets you every time!" The Rider teased, which got him slapped by the tail as well.

"Do you know what it is in a few days?"

"Of course bud. There's no way I can forget that day."

"Except you did, for like, three whole years." Hiccup rolled his eyes and lightly kicked his best friend with his metal leg.

"Yeah, well, at least I had someone to remind me. That day doesn't bother me anymore. We've got real friends here, right in front of us, that don't judge us for being different. Now, I'm sure you're wanting some of Heather's lamb chops, aren't you?"

Hiccup teased knowingly. Toothless snorted and purred happily, following their friends, their real friends to the clubhouse.

I never thought in a million bajillion years I would EVER think of Viggo and Ryker as decently-good guys, let alone Dragon Riders XD
