It was three in the morning. Alistair heard a banging noise from the kitchen. It sounded like his mother was sharpening her sword again. He went downstairs to try and find out what that noise was.
"Mom, what are you doing?" Alistair asked, groggily walking downstairs.
"N-Nothing." Alice lied, trying to hide her sword and a portal behind her back.
"Mom, you're doing something." He stated, looking at her sword as it went down into the portal.
"I have to go to Oz," She quickly told him, about to jump in, "to save Oz."
"B-But!" Alistair whined.
"No buts! I have to do this on my own!" Alice screamed. She jumped in the portal as it closed.
Alistair tried to jump in the portal but it closed before he could. His butt landed on the hard wood floor.
"Ouch....." He mumbled. He got up, knowing what needed to happen, and it needed to happen fast.
