TYLER. Why didn't you stay?
( he rings his hands.
    his eyes flick up to hers.
        he looks at her pleadingly. )

PAISLEY. You never asked.
( she smiles tightly.

Paisley Walker was sweet as the pie her mama made every Sunday evening. She was the windchimes twinkling on porches and the sweetest peach picked on the first harvest of spring in Georgia. Paisley was homecoming queen; she was Miss Arkansas and the prettiest face on this side of the Mississippi. She was a weekly server at the soup kitchen, volunteered at the local elementary school and was the sweetest soprano in her church's choir.

Tyler Owens always liked Paisley. Despite only being acquaintances through a few close friends, Paisley still sat in the stands of the rodeo's he rode during – hootin' and hollerin' his name like she was his biggest fan. He'd run up to where she sat, jumping to stand on the rail and place his hat onto her head, giving her his famous charming smile and swooning wink before making his exit.

None of their friends were surprised that Tyler and Paisley ended up together, smiling as he spun her around to Shania Twain and beaming into kisses under the moonlight. She stayed with him even when he made the difficult decision to retire riding, smoothing his hair as his head remained in shaking hands, and she remained when he began his far more risky venture – tornado chasing.

They woke when they wanted – tangled limbs underneath soft linen – earning money doing what they loved and helping others with the profit. Hell, Tyler had even proposed to Paisley as they sat in their truck in the middle of a tornado. But you know what they say, all good things must come to an end.

One trip to LA to pitch a life altering theory for tornado control had turned into a fight that had Tyler storming out of their shared apartment and Paisley crying as she left her ring along with a letter he'd only read once she boarded the plane.

When the pitch falls through, Paisley can't just return – she's far too prideful to hear Tyler tell her how right he was – instead she begins to work with her friends to finish her work even if that means going to Oklahoma where she's forced to reunite with her ex-fiancé, Tyler Owens.

In which Paisley Walker and Tyler Owens
find out that maybe love is more important
than one's pride.

I think the greatest thing about Ty and Pais, was that they were in love. It wasn't that phony love that only exists because all they know is each other; it was palpable with every smile they shared. They were as different as sun and rain, but by God did they need each other. Paisley kept him grounded and Tyler pushed her to live. I think I speak for everybody when I say those two were made for each other.

Let's all pretend like we're surprised I'm making this. I had no idea this summer would become a cowgirl summer for me, but here we are and we're LOVING the Glenergy! Glen Powell has been a problem for me ever since Top Gun. I'd seen him in Scream Queens (live, laugh love Chad Radwell) but didn't really put much thought into it, so now he has joined the club that are my (male) celebrity crushes (Daniel sharman, Paul mescal, drew starkey, and now Glen Powell).
