EXTENDED SUMMARY.

The summer of '82 proved to be a very eventful time for Lisa Marrow and Nancy Wheeler. With Lisa babysitting Dustin Henderson and said boy being best friends with Mike Wheeler, the two had plenty of time to see one another. They'd escort the boys to the cinema, sit in her room while they played their board games. They'd paint each other's nails and talk about their crushes. And they'd kiss. They'd kiss a lot, and they'd tell each other that they liked them and that they wanted more than just a friendship where they sometimes kissed.

As summer comes to a close, Lisa begins to notice Nancy pushing her away. She gets awkward and cancels last minute. She keeps her door closed and sometimes doesn't even answer at all. The worst part is, she never gives Lisa an explanation. So Lisa takes all of her Nancy knick knacks, puts them in a shoe box, and leaves them at her bedroom door while declaring that they are over. She wants nothing to do with her anymore. And good riddance.

It's been months. Lisa's fine. She doesn't even think about her anymore, or how she moved on with Steve Harrington of all people. She's totally fine, except maybe she isn't. Not when she's forced to follow Dustin around like a guard dog after his friend disappeared. Not when she finds herself entangled with Nancy Wheeler again. She hates her life.

its the 80s guys. being queer just wasn't accepted the way it is now (which it barely is now in some places). nancy is scared of how her family will take it, how other people will take it. and it starts to get too real for her, so she runs. its a valid reaction (tho she should have said something to lisa).

i can see this going through two seasons if you want, but lisa is the only older person roped in with the kids. she knows about eleven, only after pestering dustin about it. and she is trusted by the kiddos. but yeah, everything else is up for you guys to decide.
