You and I|J.D.

Lol J.D. if you get my reference, you're amazing.
••••••

You looked inside your bag, checking over and over again to see if you had everything.

Pajamas... Check. Toothbrush... Check. Sets of underwear and clothes... Check. Body wash and shampoo... Check. Umbrella... Check. Shoes... Check. Makeup... Check. Passport and such... Check. You looked over your bag once again, wondering what in the world you could be missing. You knew you weren't, but your gut kept telling you there was something you were forgetting, there always was.

"You excited or nervous?"

You snapped your head in the direction of the voice and saw your roommate walking towards you, who seemed to just have gotten home.

"Oh! Uh... I'm not sure. I guess I'm excited to leave and go to Italy, but I'm nervous I'll forget something," you mumbled, biting your nails.

Lillian--your roommate--walked to the kitchen table and placed her car keys down followed by her purse, along with taking her waitress apron off and hanging it on a chair. "I'm sure you will be fine. You never forget anything, and if you do, it's usually nothing too important."

You nod your head, your spirits now lifted a bit from your friend's assuring words. "Yeah... You're right. I think I'll be fine."

Lillian walked over to your side while whipping out a bottle of pink lipstick and started applying it to her lips, glancing over your suitcase. "You seem to have everything," she mumbled, before massaging her lips together and capping the lipstick. She flipped her short blonde hair out of her face and squat down beside you, giving it a one over.

"Do you have your ID, your passport, Visa and insurance?" She asked while fumbling through your suitcase.

You nodded, clearly remembering where you put them. "Yes, I do. They're in the front pocket."

She nods, closing up the main part of the suitcase and looks through the front pockets, nodding once again as she sees them. "You look all set. I don't know anything that you'd be missing."

You shrug. "Yeah, I guess so."

"Hey, " she smirks, poking my shoulder. "Are you and John gonna get frisky while at Italy?" She wiggles her eyebrows, which made you laugh.

"Oh my god, Lillian, we're just friends. Calm down. I assure you, nothing is going to happen." But as soon as those words left your mouth, you felt a pang in your heart. Deep down, you knew you wanted to be in a relationship with John, but you knew it would never happen. He was always busy. He was either working, writing songs, partying, interviewing, guest starring on TV shows, touring, meeting with fans, or some other form of business.

You looked up and saw Lillian's face turn from an excited smirk to a sort of sadness. "Oh. So you don't like him?"

You wanted to blurt out Yes! I do, I love him with all my heart! But you weren't so sure. Did you love him? Did he like you? "I um... Hey! I'm going to bed, are you going as well?" You ask, suddenly changing the subject.

Her eyes flick between you and the television, wondering what she should do. "Actually I think I'm going to stay up and watch some TV. You go on to bed, you'll want to get some good sleep for your trip tomorrow."

You smile. "Yeah, thanks. I'll see you in the morning."

John's POV

"Oh come on will ya!" Shouts Roger, trying to hurry up Brian, as he was taking his sweet time talking to someone.

"Just a minute!" Shouts back Brian, who glares at Roger.

I sigh. Today is the day. We're here in Italy. I'm not really sure what took us so long, but we're here, so that's all that matters.

I look at my watch while sitting in the limo, checking the time. We had thirty minutes to go to our hotel and check-in, and Brian has already been talking for about ten minutes already. Freddie, Jim, Paul, (Y/N), and I sat patiently in the long, sleek, black limousine while Roger stood out of the car, shouting at Brian to hurry up and get in the car.

"If Brian doesn't hurry up, I think we might just have to leave without him," jokes Freddie, looking at all of us, which makes us all snicker.

"Brian! You said that five minutes ago! Come on! We're all waiting!" Roger shouts, this time a little more threatening.

"Fine!" We finally hear, and we all sigh in relief, clapping in the limousine. Roger smiles and gets into the car, scooting next to me to save room for Brian.

Brian walks towards the car, as you could hear his clogs clopping against the pavement. When he arrived, he opened the door and slammed it shut, and plopped himself down next to Roger. "You're all very impatient, I hope you know that."

"Oh boo-hoo, we're going to go check into our hotel now if you don't mind," snaps Roger. Even though you couldn't see through his square sunglasses, you could feel the glare on Brian.

I laughed at Brian as he just crossed his arms and rolled his eyes. I looked to my right and saw (Y/N) with an amusing smile on her face as she saw us interact with one another.

In fact, I believe this is only her second time meeting the other guys, her first time meeting Paul and Jim. She said she liked meeting Jim but had gotten bad vibes from Paul, which I couldn't blame her. The only person who seemed to like him was Freddie, and Freddie didn't even like him a whole lot, as it seemed to me anyway.

"Hey, you know Brian-"

Brian snapped his head to Paul and glared at him. "Shut up, Paul."

---

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Ciao!" Greeted Freddie into the microphone, waving to the audience, all the while prancing around the stage.

In an immediate response, the crowd roared back welcoming applause and cheers from everyone.

You stood backstage in awe of the band and the crowd, amused by the sheer power Freddie could pull off with the audience.

"How is everyone tonight?" He asked, with a bright smile on his face.

As you watched, you saw John turn around and look at you and offered you his brightest smile. You smiled back and gave him a thumbs up, which he did in return before suddenly hearing,

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is, Hammer To Fall!"

John's POV

"John that was amazing!" (Y/N) exclaimed, grabbing hold of my hands excitedly.

It was after the concert, and after meeting all the fans backstage, and talking to the press and we were just hanging out and chatting in our dressing room.

I smirked, my face lightening up. Something about those words coming from her made me feel special. Even though I've heard it thousands of times from fans, it just sounded better when she said it. "Really? Thanks (Y/N)."

"What was your favorite part?" Roger asked from across the room as he brushed his hair into a nice manner, even though he was still pretty sweaty from drumming.

She shrugged while still holding my hands, but started swinging them, and started giggling. I rose an eyebrow at her, wondering why in the world she was laughing so much. "Oh, I dunno... I really liked Radio Gaga. I mean the way the crowd just clapped along, it was astonishing."

Brian nodded. "I agree, that was pretty great. I think that song is gonna be a keeper."

I nodded in agreement, keeping my eyes on (Y/N). She seemed not to want to break eye contact from me, keeping her focus on me, not looking at the other band members when she spoke to them. Not that I minded anyway, her eyes were dazzling.

"(Y/N) darling, are you drunk?" Laughed Freddie, while rubbing a towel over his sweaty head.

At that instant (Y/N) seemed to realize what she was doing and snatched her hands away from mine, her cheeks turning a deep red. I frowned, my heart feeling a slight pang as her hands were removed from mine.

"Uh... No, I'm good. I'm not drunk," she quickly reputed. "I'm going to use the bathroom."

She looks down at the floor and excuses herself, leaving the room. I spun around and glared at Freddie, wondering why in the world he had said that.

"Really Fred?" I asked.

He sighed. "Sorry, John. I really thought she was drunk."

Brian shrugged. "She didn't seem drunk to me. I thought she was just happy after the show."

The guys knew how much I liked her. I've liked her for years. She and I had been best friends forever, in fact, I wrote You're My Best Friend and You and I for her. I'm not sure she knows it, though.

"Well, I'm sorry. John, we all know you're madly in love with her. Why don't you go ask her out now?" Freddie suggests?

I chuckled, running a finger through my curly hair, a blush rising to my cheeks. "I mean... You think she likes me?"

Freddie laughed. "Of course! Go follow her to the bathroom or something, it'll be romantic, darling."

I hear Roger snicker and I chuckle at him. "That sounds great, go propose to her in the bathroom," he adds sarcastically, still laughing, his hand on his stomach.

I roll my eyes. If I could propose to her, I would, not going to lie. I love her that much, but it would obviously be moving too fast. "Okay, fine, I'll follow her to the bathroom."

Brian laughs. "Seriously?"

I nod. "Why not?" I throw my hands up, walking away from my group.

I walk to the girl's bathroom and hope she's the only girl in there. I stand in front of the door, my heart thudding against my chest. Here goes nothing, I thought, pushing the door open to reveal a whiff of flowery smells and lavish decor.

"God, why are the girl's bathrooms better than the guys?" I muttered, stepping inside the bathroom, closing the door behind me.

"John?"

I spin around and see (Y/N) on the other side of the bathroom standing next to the sink, a surprised look on her face.

"Oh, um, yeah. That's me," I say awkwardly, looking around the bathroom, inching my way over to her.

She laughs. God, I love her laugh. "So I see. But may I ask why you're in the girl's bathroom?"

I shrug, approaching her. "Just thought I would check up on you. You seemed to have hustled out of there rather quickly."

She shrugged, a bright pink rising to her cheeks, her eyes adverting to the floor. "Yeah, sorry about that I just um..."

I grabbed her hands, as she did with mine not too earlier. "Hey."

She looked up at me, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

I continued, messing with some of the rings on her fingers. I stared at her hands, refusing to look at her, simply because I was too afraid of her reaction. "Did you know... That I wrote a few songs for you?"

I looked up and smiled at her once I saw a beautiful bright smile on her face. I wanted to melt right there.

"You did? Which ones?"

I shrugged. "You're My Best Friend... You and I... Just to name a few."

At that moment she giggled, slapping my chest before engulfing me into a hug. "You cheesy piece of shit. I love you, John."

I wrapped my arms around her waist hugging her back, resting my head on her shoulders when suddenly I realized what she said. My heart started pounding more quickly and I pulled us both apart, my hands on her shoulders. "Wait. Did you say you loved me?"

She smirked, biting her lip, her eyes glancing around the room. "Mayyybe," she sang, twisting around. At that moment I felt my heart leap, joy rocketing throughout my whole nervous system.

"Oh my God," I mutter while sweeping her off of her feet and spinning her around joyously, before setting her down again.

"Can I kiss you?" I ask, now extremely close to her.

She laughed, pulling me in and kissing me. At that second, as cheesy as it sounds, I swear I felt sparks ricochet through my body, sending tingles down my spine.

Unfortunately, the kiss ended with her pulling away, her soft hands running her fingers through my hair. "Do you know if the guys know you're in the bathroom?"

I chuckled, remembering Freddie telling me that I should do this. "I bet they have a slight hint that I'm in here. Although, I'm sure they're never going to stop making fun of me for doing this."

She giggled, shrugging.

"How about we get out of here? The smell is kind of damaging my brain cells," I suggested, looking around the women's bathroom.

"Yes, please."
