Play The Game|F.M.
It was Christmas time, and you and a few of your friends sat around the living room in front of the crackling fire, all the while a Christmas tree stood next to the fireplace, it's colorful lights lit up the room brightly. Among the fireplace, it was adorned with stockings and Christmas garland, bringing in a true look of Christmas.
It was Christmas time, and you and your friends--by friends, I mean the group, Queen--had a yearly Christmas game of Secret Santa, and you had gotten Brian this year.
"Alright, come on everyone, let's play," Excitedly giggled Roger, as he sat on the floor next to the Christmas tree, like a kid on Christmas morning.
"Oh don't get too excited, Roger. We don't want you pissing your pants," teased John as he sipped on his eggnog.
You couldn't help but snicker as Roger shot John an evil glare.
"Do we have to?" Freddie groaned, plopping down next to you.
"Yeah, come on Fred. Usually you're very eager to play, " chuckled Brian, pulling out the presents from underneath the Christmas tree and placed them on the couch behind him so it would be easier for him to access.
Freddie scratched his arm nervously. "I um... I think I'll sit this one out."
John rolled his eyes, sitting down next to Roger, forming a circle as Brian sat down as well. "Oh come on Fred. You bought a present, you can't back out now. Besides, if they don't like it, then you can keep it, alright?"
Freddie sighed and ran his fingers through his hair nervously.
You rose an eyebrow at him wondering why in the world he was so nervous. Most of the time he would be very proud of himself, waiting excitedly for someone to open their present or pointing to a present asking whoever the receiver was to open it.
Freddie seemed to ignore John's questioned and grabbed a thin glass of champagne off of the nearby coffee table and took a sip. "Hey John, where is Veronica?" He asked, looking around the room.
John's face beamed at the mention of his wife, which you found incredibly adorable. "Oh! She's on her way. She had to stop by her mom's house to wish her a Merry Christmas."
Freddie smiled, placing the glass back on to the table. "That's so sweet." He paused then cleared his throat. "Hey! Maybe we should wait for her."
Roger groaned rather loudly. "Oh good grief, stop stalling Freddie. Why don't you want to-"
Suddenly you hear the door open, and a set of keys jingling. "I'm here!"
You sigh, a smile forming upon your face. You and Veronica had been good friends ever since Freddie found you and dragged you into his life. It was in 1974 when he found out about you and your company, where you style clothes for a cheap price, and luckily he thought you were very talented, so he asked you to be his stylist, so of course you said yes. He later introduced you to the band, where you met Brian, Roger, John, and Veronica happened to be there, and you two instantly clicked.
Then you became the stylist for Queen, and then eventually, Freddie asked you out on a date, and now you're in a relationship. You could say your life had been going well.
"Veronica!" You got up from your position on the floor and ran over to your friend with open arms.
Veronica turned around from shutting the door and smiled at you embracing your hug. "Hey (Y/N)! It's nice seeing you!"
"Come you two! Or else we're opening gifts without you!" Roger threatened, shouting from the living room.
Veronica looked at you and scoffed while rolling her eyes, which made you giggle. You both quickly shuffled to the living room, and you plopped yourself back down next to Freddie, and she sat next to John.
"Alright!" Brian reached behind him and grabbed a gift, looking at who it was for. "John, this is for you." He handed the small neatly wrapped gift to him, earning a thankful nod from John.
John grabbed the package and carefully tore into the blue and silver wrapping. Once all of the paper was torn off he looked at the small box and smiled.
"You were always complaining about how you wished you had a mug for your tea instead of using styrofoam cups every day, so I bought you one," Roger chuckled, rather proud of himself.
"Ha, thank you, Rog. I'm glad you can take notice of things," John cheekily remarks, making you laugh.
"Hey, I can take that mug back to the store as quickly as you opened it."
Everyone laughed, and Brian quickly reached back for another present so it would move faster. "Here you go, Freddie," Brian said with his voice strained, as he struggled to carry over the huge bag that had been enlisted to Freddie.
As it was passed on to him, your eyes widened, wondering what in the world was in the bag.
"Good Lord," Freddie muttered as he grabbed the bag, setting it down on the floor. He sat up on his knees, digging down into the bag while throwing out paper.
You glanced around the room and saw the others as they watched in amazement, especially Veronica. You knew it. Of course it was her.
"Oh my God!" Freddie shouted, pulling out a set of crystal drinking glasses, specifically for wine and champagne. "Who did this?!" He beamed, admiring the glasses.
Veronica's hand shyly went into the air as she smiled.
"Veronica! This must've cost you a fortune!" He squealed, carefully placing it back inside the bag and scooting it out of the way.
"Oh no, not really," she chuckled, smiling. "I'm just glad you like it."
"Well, thank you, darling," he scooted over to her and gave her a hug then scooted back to his spot.
Brian reached back behind him again and grabbed another gift wrapped in red and green wrapping, topped with a sparkly red bow. You smiled as you knew who that was for. "This one is for... Me!" He chuckled, starting to open the box.
You smiled, knowing what was exactly inside the box.
Brian eagerly opened the present, tossing the wrapping in Roger's lap which made him laugh.
As soon as Brian opened it up, he started laughing. "Oh goodness, these are great." He grabbed the box and showed it to everyone, as it contained many pairs of socks. But not just any socks. They were long socks that had planets on them as well as another set that had badgers on them.
"You're welcome," you chuckled. "I saw your rainbow socks the other day and couldn't stop thinking about how great those were, so I got you some other socks. The badger ones were hard to find, but it's worth it."
He laughed, shaking his head. "Thanks (Y/N). I appreciate it. Really, these are some quality socks," He leaned over and opened his arms for a hug which you accepted, hugging him back.
You laughed. "No problem."
Many gifts and giggles later, it was finally your turn. John had gotten Veronica a pair of silk pajamas, and Brian got Roger a fancy watch, which made you kind of feel bad as he went out of his way to buy Roger an expensive gift, but you just got Brian... Socks. At least you knew Brian was always genuine and he would always tell you if he didn't like something, so you knew he liked it.
"Alright... Drumroll everyone, last person... Or in this case, maybe it should just be Roger doing the drumming," he chuckled, which made Roger give Brian a nasty glare.
"You can have this watch back if you'd like," he remarked, chuckling.
Brian rolled his eyes, flipping over the gift to reveal the nametag. "(Y/N), here you go," he said as he handed it to you.
It was a small box wrapped in pretty silver and white snowflake packaging. You glanced over at Freddie who was now sitting more confidently and smiling from ear to ear. You smiled and chuckled to yourself, starting to open the small box.
Soon the wrapping was peeled off of the box which led you to open it. Inside there was a small and dainty silver necklace with a small diamond in the center of it. Your eyes widened at how pretty it was, your fingers running over the smooth velvet that surrounded the necklace wondering how in the world he could afford such a thing.
You gasped, smiling. "Freddie..."
"What? What is it? Do you not like it?" You could hear him worrying as he scooted over next to you, lifting your chin up so he could see your reaction.
"No! No, I love it, Fred, " you smiled at him to reassure him.
His posture softened as he smiled from ear to ear. "That's good. I was afraid you wouldn't like it cause it's so simple. "
You chuckled, placing a peck on to his lips. "I love it. Thank you."
He smiled, a soft blush turning to his cheeks. "You're welcome, love."
"Oh good grief you two, get a room, " sarcastically groaned Roger, throwing wrapping paper at Freddie, getting up off of the floor.
"I wouldn't suggest that to them, or else they actually might, " John said eyeing you and Freddie.
You rolled your eyes at them, ignoring their comments. Although you didn't mind the thought of it. But if it was going to happen, it was definitely not going to happen at Brian's house of all places.
"No! If you two do it at my house, you'll never be allowed over here again," Threatened Brian, pointing at the both of you.
"What if we've already done it here?" Joked Freddie, his arm snaking around your waist and pulling you close to him. You laughed, playfully hitting Freddie's chest. The thought of doing it in Brian's house was awful, and you never wanted to bang in any of your friend's houses, it just seemed unholy.
Brian's jaw dropped. "You're joking, right?"
Freddie nodded. "Yes, we are dear. No need to get all worked up. Now, how about we eat some dinner?"
---
It was around eight o'clock, and everyone was tired and ready to go home. You all said your goodbyes and farewells, giving hugs and kisses and whatnot. You gathered your presents and headed out the door, heading home.
You unlocked the door to your home while Freddie stood behind you with his huge bag.
"This is so heavy, I can't wait to put it down," mumbles Freddie as he struggles to hold the bag from the bottom.
You chuckled, opening the door for him to let him in first.
"Thank you darling," he mumbles again, scurrying to the kitchen.
You smile at him and close the door behind you, making your way to the bedroom to retire for the night.
You go up the stairs making your way to the master bedroom and soon arrive in the bedroom. You set your purse down on your dresser and slipped off your jacket, setting it on the chair that sat in front of your vanity.
As you got ready for bed, you heard Freddie humming downstairs, putting up his crystal and saying hello to his cats.
Finally you finished, about to slip in the bed, until you saw the box sitting on your pillow. You sighed, grabbing the box opening it once again.
It really was beautiful. You had absolutely no clue how he could afford it.
"Need any help?"
You turned your head to the door and saw Freddie standing there, leaning against the doorframe.
"Yeah, sure," you replied, taking the necklace out of the box, handing it to Freddie as he came up behind you.
You turned to the long body mirror to see what he was doing, watching him as he carefully placed the dainty necklace around your neck.
You felt his soft fingers take your hair out of the way so he could place it on you. He clasped the necklace together and let it rest on your neck.
You smiled, admiring the necklace on you. "Thank you, Freddie, it's really beautiful. "
He nodded, wrapping his arms around your waist while resting his head on your shoulder. "No problem darling."
You stood there in front of the mirror admiring the man behind you. He was gorgeous. His beautiful brown eyes seemed to search your body, looking at you in the mirror.
"What is it?" You asked, resting your hands on his, playing with his fingers.
"You're just very beautiful, that's all, " he chuckles, giving your neck light, tender kisses.
You smile at him, shivering as his soft lips meet your warm skin. Your hands grab his and spin him around so he can face you, and gave him a sweet kiss.
"I love you, Freddie Mercury."
He smiled, pulling his hand up in front of his mouth to hide his teeth, but you swatted it away. You hated his habit, his smile is possibly one of his many best features.
"Sorry," he giggled, looking down at the ground, blushing, then looked back up at you. "I love you as well, (Y/N)."
