Day 6: kisses
Warnings: no
--
Janus liked getting his sleep, it was well known. If allowed to, he would sleep half the day away, like Virgil or Logan would.
However, unlike the two of them he did not have the fortune of having a boyfriend that shared his sleeping schedule, which Roman was once again proving by poking his arm repeatedly to get his attention despite the fact that it was nine in the morning.
"Janus isn't awake." Janus said, wondering for a second if he could actually gaslight Roman into believing him. Then he remembered that that would make him a shitty boyfriend, and unfortunately that was a line he would never cross. (He fully agreed with Virgil and Logan that feelings were inconvenient and embarrassing.)
"Mhm, right. You want coffee?" Roman wondered, fingers no longer prodding at him but instead running up and down his arm in a much more soothing manner.
"No. Sleep." He said, words muffled by the pillow he had buried his face in.
"But it's such a beautiful day! The sun is shining and the sky is blue and I really want to bring you to the imagination with me. We could have a breakfast picnic together." Roman said dreamily, most likely trying to think of the perfect spot to create for said picnic.
"And you're definitely not the person who decides the weather." Janus muttered, pulling the covers up over his head in an attempt to bring himself some peace and quiet.
"Well, you got me there, but still, you should-" Roman continued, which had Janus huffing and rolling over to actually face his boyfriend who was much too awake for such a disgustingly early time of the day. He wrapped an arm around him and pulled him closer, pressing a kiss to Roman's lips, which immediately cut him off.
Kissing Roman was a very effective way to distract him, which came in handy very often. Kissing Roman also happened to be one of Janus' favorite pastimes.
They parted after only a second and Janus sank back against the mattress and the pillows, instantly making himself perfectly comfortable. If only Roman stayed quiet for a while then it would be easy for him to fall back asleep. However, as Roman seemed to collect himself a few seconds later he spoke up again.
"Um, anyway, so we could have the picnic at the beach, or in a meadow, or someplace with a beautiful view of..." He rambled, then slowly trailed off as Janus had found his hand and had resorted to pressing kisses to his knuckles, then leaving a trail of kisses up the inside of his wrist.
It was enough to make Roman's next intake of breath sound a little shaky. He was simply so receptive to any kind of affection, would melt against Janus or blush or forget what he was doing... it was cute, really cute.
He let go of Roman's hand to wrap his arm around him, cuddling up to his bare chest and brushing a kiss to his collarbone before lying back down to attempt to get some more well deserved sleep.
"Jan, you're distracting me!" Roman whined a moment later, and Janus felt him lightly swat at his shoulder.
"Me? Distract you? Oh, but Roman, I would never." He lamented, not moving from where he was or even opening his eyes.
"I know what you're doing, you can't fool me, you adorable fiend." Roman said, audible amusement in his voice as he let a hand slowly travel down his back and then up again in an incredibly soothing manner.
"Hmh. But it works so well." Janus said, tilting his head to press a kiss to Roman's throat, then kissing slightly upwards until Roman got the hint and lowered his face enough for their lips to meet in a slow kiss perfectly fitting for a sleepy morning in bed. He held Roman closer, allowing the kiss to linger for a while longer than either of them had planned because it was simply so easy to lose himself in the wonderful sensation of Roman's mouth on his.
They parted then and Roman pressed their foreheads together, seeming almost a bit dazed. Janus felt Roman's fingertips lightly trace the line on his shoulder where skin became scales.
"Okay, fine, you win, I'll let you sleep for a few more hours." Roman conceded, with the general air of someone who was giving up something he didn't want to. Janus smirked, leaving a chaste kiss on Roman's jaw before letting go of him and pulling the covers up higher.
"I'm gonna go create something, though." Roman said, sitting up and slipping out of bed after leaving a kiss on Janus cheek. He hummed and buried his face into the warm covers, shutting out the light from the bedroom window, hearing the sound of Roman rummaging through drawers for clean clothes.
An idea sparked in his mind, one he knew his boyfriend would like.
"Roman? He said, rolling over onto his back and pushing himself up on his elbows.
"Yes, my love?" Roman said as he began buttoning all the golden buttons of his shirt.
"Seeing as we usually have lunch at one, how about instead we have a brunch picnic at eleven?" Janus suggested, as Roman had wanted to have a picnic, which made Roman immediately brighten, eyes lighting up in excitement.
"I'd love that, that's an amazing idea!" He said, now moving about the room with a new bounce in his steps and a seemingly permanent smile on his face.
Janus laid back down and made himself comfortable. He had at least another hour and a half to sleep, and he was going to enjoy it. And after that he was especially going to enjoy his brunch picnic with Roman.
