Little Ones

"Hi, does (y/n) live here?" A woman with blonde shoulder length hair asked at the door. He wasn't sure how to respond since he didn't know this lady but luckily he didn't have to.

"Zara, hey," You greeted as you walked up the stairs.

"(y/n)! Can you still take care of Yami for me today?"

"Of course, you go have your fun with Geoffrey. Yami will be in safe hands with me," You reassured her.

"Thank you so much. Hey can you walk me down stairs really fast?" Zara said giving you a look that told you not to refuse.

"Sure..."

Once you were both down, she turned to you with a grin. "Oh my god, you were right he's hot!"

"Shut up! What if he hears you?" You whispered angrily. "He has amazing hearing."

"Okay, okay, okay calm down," Zara giggled. "So when are you going to jump on that bionic booty?"

"Dude, shut up!" You smacked her arm but she was grinning like a dork.

"Haha, well anyways, Yami's in the car let me go get her."

She walked over to the sleek black car and the next thing you knew a small blonde girl with big blue eyes stepped out. While Zara was gathering her stuff you noticed Geoffrey was sitting at the steering wheel. He waved at you as you did the same.

"Okay so this is all she'll need for the day, I left her two changes of clothes, a sippy cup, and a couple of toys," She explained giving you the slightly heavy bag. "Yami, say hi to your Aunt (y/n)."

"Hi..." The little 5 year old said shyly.

You bent down and smiled at her warmly. "It's nice finally meet you Yami."

"If you have any questions or you need to tell me something just call," Zara went on her motherly rant. "Well, I think that's all I need to say. Have fun you two!"

You took Yami's hand and you both waved off to Zara as she drove off. Then you headed up the stairs and you opened the door to the apartment. Genos was in the living room when you two entered.

He blinked when he saw the little girl with you. "Who's this?"

"This is Yami, my friend's daughter. She needed a babysitter today so I offered to help." You turned to the blonde little girl and introduced her to Genos.

She stared at him for a long time before motioning to you to come down to tell you something. You did so and she whispered in your ear, "What is he?"

"He's a cyborg, honey. He's still human though," You murmured back, knowing very well that it was pointless to try to be quiet when he could hear so well.

"Oh."

Genos stared at you two blankly when you both gave him your attention again. Then you remembered something. "Hey Genos, where's Saitama?"

"He went out to look for monsters to fight so he can stay at a C-class rank."

"Ah, no wonder I didn't see him this morning."

You turned to Yami and asked her what she wanted to do first. "Can we play?"

"Okay, what do you want to play?" You set the bag down on the floor and she unzipped and began rummaging through it. Yami pulled out a couple of plastic tea cups, plates, and a pot. She started setting it up on the coffee table and told you to sit opposite her.

The she surprised you with what she asked next. "Mr. Genos, do you want to play?"

He frowned and leaned forward, his forearms resting on his knees. "What is the game?"

"We're having a tea party Genos, join us," You grinned wanting to see the tough cyborg in this kind of scene. And to your surprise he agreed. He slid off the couch and sat at one end of the table to the right of you.

"Myako is playing too," Yami said as she sat her stuffed bunny across from Genos. She then grabbed her tea pot and began 'pouring tea' into each of your cups. She even had fake foods to place on your plates. "So how have you guys been? It's been forever since I've seen all of you."

You were confused for a second before realizing that the game had already commenced. "Oh you wouldn't believe what happened just the other day!" You exaggerated heavily. "Tell them Genos."

He stared at you having no idea what you were talking about. "What?"

"Tell them what happened the other day."

"What happened?"

"You're supposed to be pretending Genos, so make something up," You explained.

"Oh..." He furrowed his eyebrows deep in thought. "(y/n) and I were walking down the street when we bumped into a unicorn princess that told us that we could have a wish in exchange for a secret."

You were baffled by the level of creativity he had just come up with in a second. Yami, however, was amazed by the story. "Wooow, what did you guys wish for?"

"Oh I didn't wish for anything," You shrugged, taking a sip of your tea. "But Genos on the other hand...."

"The thing I wished for was courage," He said simply.

"Why?" The little girl asked.

"Because I lack it."

You looked at Genos dumbfounded. He was one of the bravest people you knew and here he was claiming he was nothing like that. You would've thought he was joking for the game but the way he said it made you believe that what he was saying he actually thought.

"Then what secret did you give up for courage?" You questioned.

He glanced at you and chuckled. "Shouldn't you know? You were there." You glared and stuck your tongue out at him.

For a while, you all sat there chatting and messing around. What kept you and Yami entertained most of all were the brilliant stories Genos produced one after another. They were so random but they had a development in them that kept the five year old on her toes. But alas, you all got hungry for real food.

"What do you guys want to eat?" You asked as you went through all the cupboards in the kitchen.

"We could go out and get something to eat," Genos offered.

"Pizza!" Yami exclaimed.

"Alright, pizza it is then," You agreed. "Let me just get my shoes and we'll get going. Genos, can you put her shoes on too? They're by the entrance." Then, you disappeared into your room.

Yami sat quietly as Genos slipped on her tiny tennis shoes. She suddenly turned to Genos. "Hey, can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"Why don't you and Aunt (y/n) have kids?"

He stared at the child in confused alarm. "Um...(y/n) and I aren't like that. We're, we're not together."

Yami gasped. "What!? Why not!?"

He stared incredulously. "I-I don't know.... This isn't just something you can explain."

Before the conversation could continue on, you stumbled out of your room sticking on a converse. "Okay, are we ready? Let's go."

At the pizzeria

You picked a table that was outside of the restaurant because the weather was amazing this day. You guys ordered a pepperoni pizza and were waited patiently for your order to be delivered.

"Can I get dessert too? My mom never lets me have some before dinner," Yami asked you with her big blue eyes.

"If your mom won't let you I don't think you can, hun," You said.

"Why not?" Genos interjected. "She's still going to eat."

"I'm not going to do something her mother wouldn't," You argued calmly.

"Then let me."

You sighed. "You're too soft on her. And besides, I'm the one supposed to be taking care of her."

"I can still get her something."

"No, I will. But first she has to eat her food."

Genos frowned. "(y/n)....."

"Genos...."

"Oh she's so cute!" A woman on the sidewalk squealed suddenly stopping to admire the Yami who was quietly looking around. The woman was arm in arm with a man around her age. "I'm so sorry, it's just that I saw you're little girl and my husband and I are trying to have a baby and your daughter is just so adorable! She the same hair as her father." The lady gestured to Genos.

A blush burned on your cheeks as you shook your head. "Ummm, she isn't my daughter. I'm just taking care of her today, and he and I aren't l-like that, w-we just....." You prattled on.

The woman's eyes widened as she glanced between you two. "O-oh! I'm so sorry, I didn't know....." She laughed nervously and excused herself. "Well, your friend's daughter is adorable either way, sorry to disturb you!"

Once the lady left, you looked over to Genos who avoided your gaze and kept it on Yami. "U-um, that was weird...." You commented. He only nodded.

You guys' food came by after that and you all dug in and tried to forget the incident even though it was still fresh in both yours and Genos's minds. It wasn't so much that you guys were embarrassed about the mistake. You both were struggling with the same dilemma. Everyone around you is practically screaming "be a couple" and here you were struggling to even talk to each other about your emotions. You doubted that you would even confront him about it.

The food was eaten in an awkward conversation but you guys enjoyed it all the same. You got a call in the middle of it from Zara asking how things were going and told you that she would be picking up Yami in two hours or so. So to commemorate the rest of the time you had with your favorite little girl you asked her where she wanted to go next before you all returned back home.

"Let's go to the zoo!!!" She said with as much excitement as you had seen in her all day.

You laughed. "Alright, then let's get going then." Genos looked just as ecstatic to take her out as you were.

At the Zoo

The amusement park wasn't very hard to find. In fact, it was only a few miles away and you guys got there in no time. "Genos! Let's go look at the giraffes!" Yami said as soon as you all entered. She was pulling him along by the arm as you followed closely behind.

You were smiling to yourself as you watched them from a distance. Genos had picked up the little blonde and helped her feed the giraffes with a content expression gracing his features. He looked so happy..... It made you wonder if he ever wanted to have kids himself. He would've been an amazing father either way.

Yami giggled as the giraffe's tongue touched her hand, then she poured some of the feed into Genos's palm and made him give it to the animals. They ignored the difference between him and Yami and ate up the seeds.

You were resting your elbows on a railing chuckling happily to yourself when you heard the panicked screams of the crowd behind you. People were running away from a certain part of the zoo in a state of chaos. You were going to take off to investigate as you glanced back at Genos and Yami who were barely taking notice of the alarm of the people. You trusted Genos, he could take care of her for now. You would come back as soon as you could.

You dashed off into the thick of the madness, pushing through the storms of people that were running away in fear. You had gotten to an entirely different area of the park when you found the disturbance. There was a man with scaly green skin laughing hysterically as he seemed to slither on his feet ripping apart the bars that caged in the animals in the park. "Who the hell are you!?" You yelled demandingly.

"I am the Lethal Viper! And I come baring my fangs to the injustice of keeping these animals locked away for the world to see!" Viper grabbed a steel pole from one of the exhibits and launched it at you. In the blink of an eye, you made grab for your whip at the belt of your waist and slashed the weapon into two pieces.

"You're the hero, Wind Slicer, huh?" The villain snarled, recognizing the slick material of your whip. "Then you shall also pay for allowing these horrors to occur!"

"Genos, where's (y/n)?" Yami asked in low concerned tone. He was carrying the little girl as he ran past the alarmed crowds searching for any sign of you. One second you had been right there and the next it was as if you had dropped off the face of the earth. His systems twitched with worry. He didn't like you leaving his sight, it made him anxious.

You were one of the top ten A Class heroes but that still didn't mean he liked to leave you alone. His eyes traveled and scanned everywhere but there wasn't a trace of you. That is, until he heard your high-pitched shriek from not too far away.

In matter of seconds, he blasted off the ground and zoomed past everything to get to you. Yami screamed in surprise at the take off but Genos made sure he had a firm grip on her.

Before getting to close to the area, he stopped and landed softly. He pressed a finger to his lips signaling to Yami to keep quiet. He set her down and looked her dead in the eyes. "Stay here, do not make a sound. I'll see what's going on. Do not go anywhere," Genos instructed. The little girl nodded although she looked terrified to be left.

Without further hesitation, he turned the corner and came face to face with the catastrophe. Everything was up in smoke. And in the middle of it, were you.

Your clothes were all torn up and you had several bloody slashes all over your body. Your breathing was slow and haggard as you glared at the reptilian villain. "Impressive, I didn't think you would last this long," Viper snickered, then noticed that you two were no longer alone. "I'd like to stay and torture you heroes some more but I have more of my brethren to free, goodbye."

With a great leap off the ground, he swung his hand containing three smoke bombs he had been bombarding you with before. Your head snapped over to Genos who was staring quizzically at them. You dashed over to him and covered his mouth and nose. "Don't breathe it in!!" You yelled in alarm.

Once the grenades had hit the ground, the air was filled with a foul, sickening gas. You hacked as you inhale more of the dangerous oxygen. The first time you had been hit with this you had no idea about it, and you were able to recover pretty well from it. But after a few more accidental gasps of the stuff you were beginning to feel weak. For someone that breathed in the air and that would automatically go straight up to their brain was way more lethal.

Genos said something in a muffle but you ignored him and ran after Viper. "Sorry, Genos! But I need to stop him!" You skid around the corner he had escaped to but almost crashed into a completely different person. "Yami!?"

"(y/n)!" The little girl exclaimed.

"What are you doing here!?"

"Genos told me to stay here."

You glanced back to where you had left Genos and shook your head. "Look, you need to get out of here. If you see Genos I want you to tell him that I said to take you home. Tell him I'm not arguing this and that he will get a serious tongue-lashing if he doesn't do this."

"Where do I go?" Yami questioned nervously.

"You remember the giraffe exhibit? Go there and hide out until I come back, please Yami," You gazed at her with just as much worry.

"Oh wow, now who's this?" A new voice suddenly hissed.

You were shoved away from Yami and fell roughly against the concrete. You glanced up immediately and saw that Viper was going in for a direct bite at the five year old. "Noo!!!" You screamed, throwing yourself over her.

The next thing you knew, you felt a sharp, searing pain travel through your right upper arm. You thought a shriek would sound out from your lips but you weren't the one to do it.

"(Y/N)!!!!"

Genos stormed in, blast of fire pierced through the reptile flinging him away from your body. He wasted no time in getting to you. He carefully picked up your slump form and rested you against his knee. "Hey, hey, look at me."

Your eyeballs were wandering around, trying to steady themselves. You could feel the venom swimming in your systems shutting down all your vital organs. Every part of your body was writhing in agony but not as much as your arm wound. Damn it, this venom travels fast through your systems....

"(y/n), do not fall asleep on me, don't you dare," Genos ordered, a look of despair etched onto the features you thought were perfect.

"I'm....okay.....I'm okay......" You managed to say in between small gasps. Then Genos heard something that made his anxieties spike. Your heart was spastically beating at an abnormal rate. "I'm......kay...."

Then, with a final forced inhale your eyes closed. "(Y/N)!!!" Genos yelled, shaking you violently.

This wasn't happening. This wasn't happening. He couldn't lose you. What was he going to do without you? Damn it! "(Y/N)!!!" He kept screaming. Yami was staring at you threw blurry tear filled eyes. "I-is she....?"

"No!" He refused to believe such a thing. His body trembled in fear. "(Y/N), please!!"

What was he going to do!?

"Damn it, you bastard," Viper scowled standing up from the rubble he had created.

Genos listened carefully to your heart which was beating slower and shallower as the seconds past. "Do you have a cure?"

The Viper furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "What?"

"You better hope you have a cure for what you injected her with," Genos threatened in low growl. "Because if she dies...." He got up and gave Viper one of the most terrifyingly furious snarls he had ever expressed to anyone.

"You'll be running for your life for as long as I live."

Viper's eye widened as frightful chill ran down his spine. Genos's eye began to glow bright red as he began stalking forward to the man.

Hmm..........

What's happening.....?

Where am I.....?

Your eyelids fluttered open and you were momentarily blinded by the bright white lights. Then all of sudden you were glomped.

"(Y/N)!!! Thank God you're okay!!" You heard the familiar voice of Zara.

"Z-zara? W-what...?"

You looked around and saw that you were in hospital like room. Geoffrey was holding an unharmed Yami who was grinning happily, and Genos was sitting closely to your left. "We saw on the news! Then we came straight to the hospital after Genos called us," Zara rambled on as she let you go. "How are you feeling?"

"Like I was hit by a bus," You answered, feeling the numb soreness that coarsed through you. "How are you, Yami?"

"I'm alright," She replied. "Thanks to Genos." You glanced over to him as he sat patiently and listened to the conversation.

"(y/n), I hope you won't take offense by this but I am extremely hesitant about lending you my daughter now."

You smiled half-heartedly. "That's understandable."

"But I'm okay, mom!!" Yami argued. "I want to stay with Aunt (y/n) and Uncle Genos more!"

"Honey, Genos isn't your uncle." Then Zara leaned into the little girl's ear and whispered, "Yet."

You blushed madly. If you were able to hear that, then Genos probably heard it too.

"We should probably go through the paperwork for (y/n)," Geoffrey offered, leading Zara out of the room. "I hope you feel better."

"Wait no! I still have to tell her something!"

"Yeah, thanks," You waved as he forced a worried Zara out. Then you were left alone in the room with Genos.

He sighed and looked over to you. "How do you feel right now?"

"I'm fine," You inhaled deeply. "But what happened after I knocked out?"

"I would hardly call it 'knocked out'," He said with a bit of bite. "You almost died (y/n)."

"I didn't though," You remarked smartly.

"(y/n), you wouldn't be here if you would've been more careful. You should've gotten me to come with you if you knew something was going on."

"I needed you to watch Yami, I wasn't going to involve her in the fight."

"We could left her somewhere safe so she would be out of it, so you didn't have to confront that guy alone," Genos persisted.

"Look, you know as much I that in this line of work there are times when we will have to fight alone. Whether we die or not it doesn't matter because as heroes our duty is serve and save the people," You defended strongly.

"I don't give a shit about all that! Do you not understand that you gave me the biggest heart attack today!?" Genos said abruptly. "I almost lost you! If that guy hadn't given me the antidote to his poison you would've died!! And getting it from the stubborn jackass while you were slowly dying wasn't easy."

You stared at him softly and then tried to use your right hand to grab his that was resting on the bed. However, you found it completely numb and immobile. "Genos, I'm sorry I didn't.....I didn't mean....."

"I know," he said, running a hand through his hair. "I know. It's just.....I can't, even begin to imagine a world without you in it. And the events today were suddenly forcing me to accept one."

"I promise you, that I will never leave you Genos," You whispered, your eyes getting glassy. "Thank you for saving me. I owe you one."

"I know you do. Remember? You said you would go on a date with me?" He smiled.

You were utterly confused. "W-when did I.....?"

He reached over to your stable hand and clasped it in his. "When I made my wish to the unicorn princess for courage and asked you out on a date and you said yes. You should remember, you were there," Genos smirked cutely.

You chuckled, feeling much better than you had when you first woke up. "Oh yeah, I remember."

I'm thinkin' bout updating this book on Saturdays. That or if I have time on weekdays. Also, I like the idea of a Daddy Genos, I don't know it's cute :) He'd be one of those dads that spoils little girls (at least that's what I think)

Another thing, my One Punch Man fanfic is up :D check it out if you like this book
