"I don't know. I just did. I... look forward to seeing you often, and I think about you a lot..."
Logan couldn't stop thinking about what Virgil had said. How he knew that he had feelings for Logan. Logan didn't know what to do.
He definitely related to both of the things Virgil had said. He very often looked forward to the next time he would see him, and even now he couldn't get the other student off his mind. What he didn't understand was how he just knew. Logan was completely unsure of himself, and even if he did think he liked Virgil, if Virgil hadn't said anything to him he probably would have denied it no matter how much evidence proved otherwise.
Logan groaned, hating himself for not being better at understanding emotions. Of all the things he was good at, all the things he had ever learned, emotions were the most complicated. If he were like every other normal human being on the planet, he would probably have an answer for Virgil by now. Unfortunately, Logan was not one of those people. However, he did know someone who was. Sitting up quickly and reaching for his phone, Logan was surprised as the screen lit up with messages from the very person he was about to message.
Patton: I heard about your date with Virgil!!
Patton: How did it go??
Patton: Tell me everything!!
Logan smiled at his messages, glad he was already aware of that part so he didn't have to explain it to him. He unlocked his phone, sending him back a message explaining that he was confused, and needed some help with feelings. He only had to wait a second before he was getting a call from his friend, and he answered it.
"Hello-"
"What happened? Is everything okay?" Patton asked immediately, not even bothering with hellos. Logan sighed, asking him to calm down and explaining his situation to him.
"Oh. Well, have you figured out if you like him or not?" Patton asked after Logan had finished talking, and Logan sighed again.
"I don't know. How am I supposed to know? I've never... liked anyone in that way before." Logan explained, frowning. "He told me that he just... knew, but how? I don't understand feelings, Patton."
"They're really confusing sometimes, especially when it comes to crushes! It's okay, Logan. If you don't like him, you can always just say no. So don't feel too pressured, okay?" Patton told him, and Logan hummed to let him know he understood. "And you know, if you do like him but you're still unsure of things then... Well, there's nothing wrong with asking to take things slow, okay? He likes you, so he should understand that."
Logan mumbled something in agreement, staring at the floor as he thought things over. "This still hasn't answered my question of how to know if I like him."
"How do you feel when you first see him when we hang out?" Patton asked.
"Well... happy, of course." Logan answered, not understanding how else he was meant to answer that question.
"I mean... do you get butterflies in your stomach? Do you feel nervous if he touches you? Even just, brushing shoulders or something." Patton explained, and Logan thought about it.
"Yes..." he muttered slowly.
"Do you feel disappointed when you have to leave? Even more disappointed than when you have to stop hanging out with me? You can be honest, don't worry." Patton giggled, and Logan once again told him he did.
"And when your apart, what do you think about the most?" Patton asked, and at this question Logan knew the answer immediately.
"I think about him the most." He mumbled, thinking about it. "I think about when I'll see him again, how he's doing, how I wish I were with him..."
"I think you have your answer then." Patton laughed again, and Logan nodded, a small smile on his lips.
"Yes, thank you, Patton." The two of them continued talking for a while, Logan asking him how his day was and listening as Patton talked excitedly about it. After a while, Logan glanced at the clock, noticing it was getting late. He told Patton they should both get some rest for school the next day, Patton agreeing and wishing him luck with talking to Virgil.
As soon as he hung up, Logan stared down at his phone. He was going to message Virgil to ask him to meet up and talk, but his hands shook and he had to stop for a moment.
Why was he so nervous? Virgil liked him back. All they would be doing is talking about it, so there was no reason for him to be nervous. He calmed himself enough that his hands were no longer shaking, typing out a message to ask Virgil to meet him, and sent it. His hands weren't shaking anymore, but his nervousness had not just vanished.
It didn't take too long for Virgil to respond, telling him that he would be fine with meeting. Only when Logan read that did the rest of his anxiety fade away, and he was able to lay in bed and relax.
Tomorrow. Tomorrow, he would talk to Virgil about everything.
Tomorrow, Logan might actually have a boyfriend.
It's taken me a while to update, sorry. As mentioned before, mental health was awful but I should be good now. Probably. Hopefully. I'll do my best.
Take care of yourselves. Bye!-Bob
