2. Sleepless
"Lemme get this straight: you were bored, so you left without telling us. You went to Gotham and tried to stop a bank robbery. You thought you beat them, and then you get brain blasted and punched in the face. You wake up, and the money's gone. And you think it's a good idea to just TELL us this?"
"Uh, yeah?"
Wally immediately lost his 'angry parent' front. "Good, 'cause our night could not have been more boring. Except when we noticed you were gone and tried to get on your computer. THAT was fun."
"Wait, what?"
"Oh, did I say we tried to get on your computer? Because we TOTALLY tried to get on your computer. Superboy got electrocuted by that weird defense mechanism you installed (who does that to a computer?), but I managed to get to your home screen. Seriously, who has that as a background?"
Robin chuckled. "A fan."
"But that's not important. Do you KNOW what could have happened to you?"
"Nothing I haven't already dealt with a hundred times over."
"Really? Because I'm sure you've never been killed before."
"I wouldn't have been--" Robin gave a resigned sigh. "Point taken. But I'm fine."
"Really? You call THAT fine?" Wally gestured at the rather large bruise on the side of his face.
"It won't affect my performance in the field," Robin insisted.
"While that may be the case, you still need rest," Aqualad interjected. "We can continue this discussion later."
"We won't need to. I'm sure I'll get the lecture from Batman as soon as he finds out," Robin grumbled as he made his way to his room.

Try as he might, all of Robin's tossing and turning got him nowhere in his quest for rest. He gave up when, after what seemed like an eternity of restlessness, he looked at the clock and saw that it read only 3:30 in the morning. He got up and decided to get a snack from the kitchen.
He found Aqualad there, sitting at the counter with a glass of juice.
"Hey, Saltwater. Can't sleep?"
"Hello, Robin. Yes, it would appear that I am unable to fall asleep. And you?"
"Yeah, same. I just can't get my mind off what happened. Something about it just bugs me, and I can't put my finger on it, but I just know something's up." He poured himself a bowl of cereal as he spoke. After a moment of thought, he asked, "What's keeping you up?"
"You will know when you lead," was all he said.

The next day was, to say the least, a disaster, heavy on the dis. Robin hadn't gotten any sleep, and it was the day that every villain decided to do something. The League and team were busy all day, running around and taking down villains left and right.
It was around nine o'clock at night when Robin finally snapped. He'd had his sleepless nights before; the team knew to just give him his space. However, usually he'd had the chance to doze at one point or another throughout the course of the day. Today, they needed all hands on deck to handle everything that was going on, and there was hardly a moment where they had the time to even sit down. And that meant a crabby birdy.
Robin, you and Kid Flash scout the perimeter, Aqualad instructed. Robin could follow a simple order, right?
Apparently not. Through the mental link, they heard Robin say a few colorful words and a couple choice locations where Aqualad could put it. A few seconds later, they heard gunshots and grunting from inside the warehouse they were getting ready to infiltrate.
When they got inside, they found Robin had already taken down most of the men and was making short order of those who remained.
One of the few still standing pointed his gun at the Boy Wonder's back, which was completely open to attack. Kid Flash zipped over and grabbed it before he could fire, but the rest of the team realized that they needed to do something about this. They didn't know what that something was yet, but that was too close.
"Robin," Aqualad started, but was quickly cut off.
"What? WHAT?! I-- We got the bad guys, didn't we? We stopped their operations. Isn't that enough?" Robin crossed his arms over his chest.
"We were to infiltrate stealthfully, Robin. A full on assault is neither infiltration, nor stealthy."
"And you almost got SHOT, dude! SHOT! When was the last time you let your guard down that low?" Wally berated.
Robin snickered as he thought of an inappropriate and snide response involving the speedster's mother, but somehow managed to respond more reasonably. "I get it. I let my guard down this one time. Okay. It won't happen again." But the accompanying eyeroll did nothing to persuade the others.
Aqualad turned to Wally. "Run him back to the Zeta Tube, then meet us at the Bioship. We have another mission from Green Arrow."
"Wait, what?" Robin interjected. "I can do just fine--"
"No. You are going to go back to the mountain, and you are going to go to sleep." This time it was Artemis who spoke. "What good can come from you running yourself into the ground?"
Robin sulked the whole ride to the tube.
