REAL LIFE

HARRY AND ELLIE had pulled up at the hospital soon enough, and had left the car and found the ward where Sophie was resting.

     The first thing they saw entering the waiting room was Sam and Thea, as well as Sophie's parents, who looked no happier than anyone would in a hospital where one of their loved ones was an inpatient. It was a truly gloomy atmosphere.

     "It's great to meet you, Harry. I'm sorry it has to be in these circumstances." Harry looked up, and saw the arm of Sophie's father extended to him.

     He took it and shook it with enough force, "You too, Mr Collins. I'm really sorry about Soph." Harry then greeted Sophie's mum, his brother, and also Thea.

"Has there been anymore news?" Ellie spoke up. Just as she spoke, the doctor–who was a female–entered the waiting room. "Wow, good timing."

"Sophie is awake. You're all free to go and see her, I just need to update you on her condition." Said the doctor, her hands interlacing with the stethoscope on her chest.

"Go on then," Sophie's mum said, eagerness in her tone, "tell us."

"Well, I'm sure you all know that the reason she passed out was because her blood pressure was quite low. Therefore, I met up with her dietician and we've both decided to put her on a plan, one that can get her blood pressure back up to speed. She also has a bump on her head, and I think it's from hitting her head against the cabin when she fell."

"Can we see her now?" Thea asked, once everyone made sense of what the doctor said.

"Yeah, you can. Just don't go in all together, we don't want Sophie to get too overwhelmed by all the sudden appearances."

"Okay. We'll go first." Sophie's dad said, gesturing to his wife.

Within the next 20 minutes, Sophie's parents had gone in, and so had Sam, Ellie and Thea, leaving Harry last. They all, without saying anything, decided it would be best that Harry should go in himself.

As Harry was about to enter the ward with a bouquet of flowers that he managed to acquire, he looked at his brother. "It's not as bad as you think, Harry," Sam said, gently taking his twin by the shoulder, "just be normal. Pretend like everything is fine, even though it isn't." Harry nodded.

Harry walked through the white door, and saw a hospital bed, and the curtain was spread wide open. Next to the bed was a collection of Get Well Soon gifts. And next to the gifts and underneath a dangling balloon, on top of the bed, was Sophie herself.

"Harry," Sophie said, a gentle smile stretched across her face. "Please, come."

Harry walked slowly across to the seat brushed Sophie's bed. There, he got a proper glimpse of Sophie. She looked.. different. Harry didn't know how to describe it. Her face wasn't pale and colourless; it did have colour. Rather, her aura seemed to be calmer than usual. There was a droop in her eyes that didn't make her look tired at all.

"H-how are you?" Harry asked, his hands gripping onto the rails of the chair.

"I'm great. Really. Just.. I didn't expect this to be our first place of meeting in two months.."

"Hey.. don't worry about it. It's still fine. You may be in a hospital ward with a bandaged head, but at least you're on the way to getting better." Harry took Sophie's hand, folding it between his own.

     Sophie smiled, looking at their hands. "I really missed you, you know."

     "So did i." Harry replied. Then he thought for a second, just to ignore his brothers thought, and he did so, "I was so worried, Soph."

     Sophie clicked her tongue slowly, "Awe, Harry.."

     "No, really. I did. The moment I got that call from Ellie and that you had passed out, I was wondering if anything bad happened. I'm so grateful to know that you're even on the road to getting better." Harry rubbed his fingers along Sophie's hand, looking up at her with affection.

     Sophie looked back at him with almost as much sincerity as she got. "I'm so happy to have you in my life, Harry."

     Harry stood up and pressed his lips to her forehead. Believe me, you're not nearly as grateful as me.
