Jenika woke up excited and scared. She couldn't believe this day was finally here. Travel, adventure, freedom... she was ready for her new life. But first she had so much to get done before she woke up TJ.

She rechecked all her lists: packing, grocery, tickets, maps and addresses, extra supplies, vehicle maintenance. She'd managed to get it all done fairly quickly somehow. She loaded up the RV and had only one thing left do, wake up her travel companion and get him moving.

"TJ, time to wake up" Jenika cooed. She tried to wake him nicely but if that didn't work she'd get louder. "TJ! Let's go sleepy head. Aren't you ready to start our adventure?" That got him moving a little.

"We are leaving today?" TJ asked in a sleepy but excited voice. "Yes, hon. We are ready to go as soon as you get dressed and eat". Jenika said as she popped him on the butt and headed to the kitchen to fix him some breakfast.

TJ was not a morning person so it took a full hour to get him out the door. Finally, they were on their way. Jenika locked the front door and turned around to find her best friend, Ericha, hugging TJ and telling him that she was going to miss them but she hopes they have a great time.

"Ericha. You didn't have to come over this early in the morning. It's your day off. You're supposed to sleep in" Jenika laughed.

"You know I can't sleep in and you certainly know that I wasn't going to let my best friend and her man take off on a months long road trip without seeing them off. Girl, you know me better than that" Ericha huffed.

Ericha pulled Jenika into a tight hug and they both tried not to cry. Ericha had been there for Jenika her whole life, through good times and bad, always supporting her and helping her with anything she needed. Jenika felt a little guilt rise up inside at the realization that she was leaving her bestie alone for months while she took off on a grand adventure.

"You know I love you right?" Jenika mumbled, trying to hold back tears. She didn't want TJ to see her cry. "I know, hon. You go do what you have to do. I'll be here waiting to welcome you back. I love you too" Ericha cried, not able to hold in her tears any longer.

Jenika finally pulled out of the hug and headed towards the RV where TJ was already waiting inside. Just before the door shut Ericha yelled "You better send so many pictures my phone explodes. Get me some good pics of those gorgeous men." Jenika giggled, fastened her seatbelt, and backed out of the driveway. They were on their way. Her Follow Home Free Across the Country road trip had begun.
