[50] peach champagne

taehyung focus
after a warm, long shower full of honey scented soaps and vanilla hinted shampoos, taehyung changes into his clothes and seats himself by the armchair situated near his bedroom's floor-to-ceiling windows, staring at the people and cars below which heavily resemble swarming ants to taehyung. towelling his hair dry, taehyung thinks back to what a glassy eyed jimin had told him thirty minutes ago, about his shitty break up, junghoon, choi haneul, and jungkook's frail emotions.

biting his lower lip, taehyung stops towelling his hair and stares at the main city standing a fair distance away from QUEENS HOTEL, shrouded in layers of foliage. he leans back in the armchair as he feels sympathy for jungkook and jimin — feeling absolutely saddened by how they were treated; jungkook feeling that he had to stick with someone toxic simply because he yearns for love and jimin's sexuality being trod all over by someone's yellow espadrilles.

taehyung sighs as he lazily runs a hand through his wet hair, now feeling pretty bored after his shower and having no one to entertain him but the HD tv in the next room. jimin had left shortly after explaining, claiming that 'the hyung's were summoning him' and that he needed to go, telling taehyung that he'd see him later.

but when is later? taehyung thinks impatiently as pushes himself off the chair, wandering out of his assigned bedroom to the massive living room space where a tall television waits for taehyung's use. switching the device on, taehyung flops back onto the couch shaped like the letter 'L' and rifles through the channels available, wanting to watch something.

his brown eyes catch onto a programme name consisting of three words, three words that remind him of two days ago, when he had dyed his hair red.
"the little mermaid." he murmurs, remembering jungkook's retold story and the disney films the younger predicted that taehyung'd enjoy.

interested, taehyung sets the remote control to his side and draws his legs up onto the sofa, animatedly watching a redhead mermaid, sporting a tail and a purple shell bra, talk to her fishy friends.

"so you're telling me you've found someone? someone who's 'got you feeling all sorts and you adore with all your heart'?" yoongi quotes. jungkook nods.

jungkook, yoongi, hoseok and jimin are all leaning over the gilt banister running up the staircase and the edge of the second floor, allowing hotel guests, should they want to, lean over the thick banisters and admire the busy hotel casino area where several suited men and beautified women flock at, betting their money and possessions over a tiny dice or a simple stack of cards.
the quad sipping at complimentary alcoholic drinks provided by the mini bar behind them, stare out at the expanse of casino and talk to each other as they lean over the intricately detailed railings.

"and that someone is your bloody captive, kim taehyung?" yoongi questions. jungkook nods, listlessly swirling the contents of his flute around.

"so jimin's right — you've gone soft." yoongi concludes, leaning away from the banister with a soft sigh. jungkook nods again, looking incredibly bored with his hyung's multiple questions.

"you like this guy and he likes you back, yeah?" yoongi asks, rubbing his temples with a muffled groan escaping his lips. jungkook nods, now sipping at his concocted drink.

"yanno, that's stockholm syndrome — isn't that sorta fucked up?" jungkook nods simply. seeing jungkook's nod, yoongi gives up with the boy's lack of voice and looks away, staring at the casino's participants with narrowed eyes.

hoseok, who'd stayed quiet throughout jungkook's detailed explanation of what's happened and what's happening between him and taehyung, clears his throat and asks jungkook the following; "i get you like him and he likes you but what's gonna happen to you guys when you reach namjoon? im sorry but this whole 'relationship' is set to end from the start. everything's gonna break off and you're just gonna end up getting hurt again, kook."

yoongi nods, agreeing with his boyfriend's words. "and how," yoongi sighs exasperatedly, "do you know that he truly likes you and isn't faking it all to gain your trust and then escape?"

"there's been so many chances for taehyung to escape but he hasn't made any indication of wanting or trying to leave." jungkook mutters, "and taehyung's not like haneul if that's what you're implying, hyung — he isn't a fake, he's totally genuine. ask jimin hyung. he told me the very second i introduced him to haneul, that he didn't like her, and im sure hyung can tell whether taehyung's good for me or not."

yoongi raises an eyebrow at jimin who munches on a sliced strawberry casually. noticing that the attention was turned towards him, jimin licks his lips and nods.
"from what ive seen and what you've told us, i think he's great but hoseokie hyung does have a point; what're you planning to do with taehyung when namjoonie hyung asks for him?"

jungkook sighs, quietly groaning out, "not you too hyung." jimin shrugs in response, biting off another piece of fruit decorating the rim of his glass.

"we're just worried about you, kook. this taehyung guy might sound all nice, all sunshines, smiley faces and rainbows but—"

"taehyung makes me feel happy, hyung." jungkook interrupts abruptly, now staring at the contents of his glass. the hyungs turn to stare at jungkook who ignores their eyes on him and continues to drink his beverage.

parting from his glass, jungkook speaks up again.
"and i haven't felt happy in a long time. but then, all of a sudden here comes along this ball of warmth that makes me laugh, smile and fucking enjoy life to its fullest — he's fucking awesome, hyung. i swear you'll love him when you meet him." jungkook says softly, a small smile lingering on his face at the mention of taehyung's bubbliness.
"yeah, this is all wrong. yeah, it's fucked up and yeah, this isn't going to last but id like to keep whatever we have for as long as possible and enjoy it while it lasts." jungkook ducks his head, "he makes me feel human again, and i just wanna stay human for a little while longer — is that so bad hyung?" jungkook asks, tilting his head back to look at yoongi who's immediately struck stiff when he notices the slight wetness pooling in jungkook's usually bright eyes.

"j–jungkook?" jimin voices out quietly, upon noticing the boy's glassy eyes.

sighing in defeat and looking away, yoongi speaks up, "kook, ignore us. it's your relationship — you decide what you wanna do with it. if you wanna enjoy it, enjoy it to the fullest." he murmurs, decisiveness in his tone as he lightly pats the youngest's back, rubbing his hand up and down soothingly in attempt to calm the boy.

"if it's what you want, then go for it, maknae." hoseok adds in with a small shrug after finishing his beverage and dumping it on the nearest waiter's gold painted platter.
turning round to face jungkook, he hums out; "but when do we get to meet this taehyung?"

jungkook blinking away his tears, mumbles, "meet him whenever — he's upstairs in the penthouse suite."

"yeah?" hoseok raises an eyebrow at jungkook's snivelling, slapping the boy over the head and startling him. "aigoo, stop with the tears already, you crybaby. he really has made you soft, hasn't he?"

jungkook pushes a grinning hoseok away, playfully glaring at him. "m'not a crybaby."

"yeah, yeah."

soooooo is jungkook prince eric? and im the little mermaid? ariel? taehyung muses, giggling slightly at the thought as he watches the film. now nearing the end of the movie, taehyung curls up further on the sofa, resting his head against a fluffed up cushion as he watches the credits roll — too lazy to reach over for the remote control and change the channel.

yawning, taehyung rolls on to his back and stares up at the insanely pretty light fixtures on the ceiling, admiring the bright light streaming out of them. he rubs his eyes lazily, his pupils feeling strained after staring at the television for so long without breaks in between.

pulling his hands away from his eyes, taehyung forces himself out of the couch, his bare feet pit-pattering towards the kitchen, hopeful in perhaps seeking out food. before entering the kitchen, he flicks through a bunch of programmes showing on tv, none of them creating any interest inside taehyung's mind. listlessly, he stops at a random channel — a channel which happens to show popular music videos on tv depending on the viewers requests.

padding inside the clean, modernised kitchen, taehyung listens to whatever music video is playing on the television, filing out of the speakers to taehyung's ears.
surprisingly, it's a catchy song that taehyung soon comes to like as he tugs open the steel refrigerator door, picking up the first thing he sees; a peach flavoured drink, and closes the door shut, moving back to the living room area.

listening to the music and appreciating the music video's aesthetics, taehyung uncaps the bottle with the drink hissing in reply, the heavy scent of something sweet and peachy lingering around taehyung as he tilts the drink back, swallowing the icy contents of the bottle.

"what was he doing when you left him earlier?" jungkook asks jimin casually as the quad files out of the elevator.

"hm? oh, he was lying in bed — said he'd shower soon. he's probably showering or watching tv; there's not much to do in here." jimin hums as he wrangles his way to the front of the three, unlocking the door swiftly with his master keycard.

"yeah?" jungkook replies as he impatiently waits for jimin to open the door and let them all stream into the penthouse — he's excited for them to meet taehyung, excited for them to see that taehyung's not anything like haneul (self-conceited / vain / a total attention seeker / etc.) and that he's totally perfect for him.

hurried, jungkook pushes the door open once jimin unlocks it and allows his hyung's to enter the suite, following after them shortly.

"taehyung—" jungkook calls out as soon as he steps foot inside, intending to ask taehyung to come to the living room but the sound of music turned to full volume interrupts him. he looks up sharply at the sudden loud noise and widens his eyes at the sight of a tipsy taehyung dancing on the coffee table, singing along to jay park (a/n: listen to 'yacht', it'/ lit) on the tv whilst waving around a bottle of QUEENS HOTEL complimentary peach flavoured alcohol. jungkook raises an eyebrow when he acknowledges similar empty bottles lying around beneath taehyung, littering the pricey carpet below.

more than just surprised, jungkook, jimin, yoongi and hoseok watch taehyung teeter totter on the surface of the coffee table, raising his arms high in the air and swaying his hips to the beat of the music, a lazy grin decorating his features as the drink in his hand sloshes around.
mouth agape at the way taehyung shamelessly sways his hips, jungkook hurries to near taehyung, stopping him by tugging at the material of the boy's shorts. taehyung, suddenly confused at the restraining hand by his thigh, looks down at his side to see jungkook raising an unimpressed eyebrow at him. the former ignores the questioning look on his boyfriend's face and giggles, "look at me dance, kooooooook!" he laughs, drunkenly pulling himself away from jungkook to copiously spin himself around on the coffee table, teetering dangerously on the edge and probably falling off it if it weren't for jungkook pulling him back to the centre of the table, tsking as he does so.

"how many bottles have you drunk, tae?"

taehyung stops dancing then, coming to a standstill as he thinks through jungkook's simple question. brows furrowing in thought, taehyung raises a hand in the arm, splaying five fingers as he hiccups cutely, "five!"

"five?" jungkook repeats, frowning.

"yeah! and they were all really good! i didn't know juice tastes this good!" taehyung hums happily as he continues to move around on the table, bare feet light as he dances away to the music.

jungkook rolls his eyes, "taehyung — those weren't juices."

"no?" taehyung replies, not sounding at all interested — he's too busy focusing on the wide screen television, on the dancers in jay park's new music video, trying to replicate their complicated dance moves. the very dance moves which are supposed to be sexual, come out cute when taehyung copies them — a cheery box shaped grin forming on his face as he performs a little sequence, jungkook grinning up at him and shaking his head in disbelief. both ignoring the fact that three guys are watching on, amused by their behaviour.

"taehyung, get down from there; you're gonna fall and—"

"kook, join me!" taehyung requests eagerly, tugging at jungkook's pale hand with persistence in his voice. "let's dance!"

"tae, im not joini—"

"the song's nearly over, jungkook — quick!!" by using unbelievably strong force sided with jungkook's pliant body, taehyung manages to drag jungkook onto the coffee table, both of them up in each other's personal space as they struggle to not fall off the small table. neither seem to mind though.

tipping his head and laughing at how cautious they have to be so as not to fall off, a beaming taehyung curls his arms round jungkook's shoulders, his hands meeting behind the younger's neck. pushing his face into the junction where jungkook's neck and shoulder meets, taehyung inhales jungkook's comforting smell, feeling at ease as the scent fills his senses.

making both of them sway slightly (although the next song playing is anything but slow: it's all exciting EDM that doesn't match their pace), jungkook chuckles over taehyung's ducked head. "i thought we were supposed to be dancing?" he asks playfully, poking taehyung's side.

still inhaling the tasteful cologne lingering on the younger's skin (like some sort of crackhead) ((but jungkook doesn't mind)), taehyung murmurs lazily; "missed you, prince eric."

"it's only been an hour, and prince eric??"

"watched little mermaid. good film." taehyung comments, the alcohol strong enough to slur his words slightly, "oh, im ariel 'cause of the hair."

jungkook decides to play along, "ah, that makes a lotta sense."

"m'yes, prince eric."

grinning at the way tipsy taehyung's brain works, jungkook looks up and suddenly grows incredibly hot and embarrassed when he notices his hyungs standing before them, holding back laughter.

"u–uh, taehyung, lets get you sobered up." jungkook manages to mutter out, pulling taehyung away from his neck and stepping off the coffee table, helping a confused taehyung off as well.

"sobe-red? m'not drunk thooooough." taehyung drawls, following after jungkook who takes him by the hand, guiding him to their bedroom.

"yes, you are, and i need you to meet the hyungs sober."

"the hyungs?" taehyung asks, looking over his shoulder to see three guys, one he recognises blearily as jimin, and grins at them, lifting a hand and waving it at the boys excitedly. "hi hyungs!! im sober!!"
taehyung hears jimin laugh after him.

jungkook shuts the door behind him and seats a mumbling taehyung on the edge of the bed, stifling a small smile at how fazed taehyung is. he pulls away from the older to grab the water bottle off the bedside table, uncapping and passing the drink to taehyung who stares at it blankly.

"i dont wan wat'r."

"drink it — the alcohol makes you dehydrated." jungkook pushes on, handing the drink over to a reluctant taehyung who sips at the clear liquid.

"if you sober up real quick, we'll go down to the beach later to do your sixth thing on your list. yanno, sit around by a campfire?"

"really??" taehyung jerks his head up so fast at jungkook's words that the younger fears that his neck'd snap right off. luckily, taehyung manages to keep his hazy head on, animatedly widening his eyes at jungkook's compromise. "deal!"

grinning, jungkook walks away from the tipsy older and shrugs off his jacket, dumping the material on the armchair as taehyung speaks up in between sips of water.
"your twin's not very nice. jiminie told me."

"oh, yeah?" jungkook murmurs, flopping backwards onto the armchair and relaxing his worn out limbs. rubbing his forehead with a soft sigh, jungkook stares out of the tall floor-to-ceiling windows with no particular interest.

"your ex isn't very nice either," taehyung starts, the alcohol slurring his words slightly as he stares at the water bottle in his hand. (after several tries) taehyung caps it closed and holds it in his grasp as he flops back onto the bed, head bouncing slightly at the impact.

"no." jungkook agrees quietly, still staring out of the window. taehyung cranes his neck then to look at his boyfriend, noticing how distant his words sounded and how his eyes are glazed over in thought.
jungkook's remembering the day he had found out his ex had cheated on him with his twin brother.

frowning at jungkook's sudden lack of presence in the room, taehyung sits back up and pads lazily over to jungkook's legs, mumbling out, "if you want me to, i can fight them off for you," as he sits down on the lap of a rather surprised jungkook.
the latter blinks at taehyung who silently leans back against his chest, his head resting just under the younger's chin (causing jungkook's chin to be tickled by the vermillion coloured strands). after a second of being stunned and regarding taehyung on his lap with widened eyes, jungkook's lips quirk up in a half smile as he wraps his heavy arms around taehyung, pressing his face against the older's vanilla scented hair.

"show her the kim muscles, yeah?" he chuckles, enjoying the way taehyung comfortably slots perfectly into his front, as if he belongs there (despite his tanned legs splaying out on the floorboards because they're too long).

"yeah," taehyung beams, "though i might have trouble because im fighting two people so you might have to step in." he ponders aloud, eyes narrowing as he thinks his fighting strategy through in his head.

"tae, it's okay," jungkook assures softly, moving his right hand towards taehyung's exposed thigh and rubbing slow circles onto the honey coloured skin. the younger doesn't miss the way taehyung's breath audibly hitches in his throat or the tiny goosebumps that suddenly litter the skin of his thighs.

"fuck them. they're not worth thinking about when i have you here with me."

and for once, jungkook's cold, unforgiving attitude aimed towards his twin brother and ex-girlfriend lessens because yeah: they're not worth thinking about let alone cling after them desperately.
all these months he's been trying to convince himself that he doesn't need them to live, that he can manage all by himself without them but only now, does he feel 100% convinced that he doesn't need their love and attention to feel validated. not when he has four awesome hyungs to back him up whenever and taehyung, his lovely, lovely taehyung who he decides right then and there, that he likes — likes? no, loves so so much. those are people he should hold on to tightly; not the people who've betrayed and left him at his worst.

"yeah?" taehyung breathes out, breaking jungkook out of his suddenly clear thoughts.
he looks down at taehyung who sits comfortably on his lap, staring with lidded eyes at the hand that distractedly draws circles onto his smooth thigh.

regarding him with softened brown eyes, jungkook reminds himself of hoseok hyung's point earlier ("what're you going to do when namjoon asks for him?") and what he had replied to it.
fuck "enjoying it whilst it lasts" — im not letting him go, im not letting him go to namjoon hyung or his parents. im not letting him go even when hyung or the police gets persistent, jungkook declares inside his head as he curls his arms a little more tightly around taehyung's waist. im tired of letting people leaving my life so easily — this time, that won't happen 'cause im gonna be holding on tightly.

"yeah."

three and a half hours later, jungkook wakes up to the feeling of something on his lap moving around, the thing groaning out in pain. peeling his eyes open, jungkook frowns at taehyung who sleepily grasps at his scarlet hair, muttering something about "damn juices' as he massages his forehead.

wrapping an arm around taehyung's waist so he wouldn't fall off his lap and onto the floor, jungkook reaches for the water bottle sitting on the side table in front of them and hands it over to a pained taehyung. "it'll make you feel better." jungkook croaks out, voice deep with remnants of his sleep.

"those weren't good juices." taehyung murmurs, dragging himself away from jungkook who groans out loud at the cool air settling on his thighs which taehyung had warmed seconds ago.

too lazy to move from the armchair despite the crick in his neck and his heavy limbs, jungkook follows taehyung with his eyes, dark eyes boring into taehyung as he tinkers around the room, searching for his flip flops.
"baby," jungkook voices out, his deepened tone rich with sleep. taehyung stiffens at the endearing nickname, the red on his cheeks matching his hair colour comically as jungkook continues to speak, smirking lazily when he notices taehyung's small reaction. "should we go down to the beach? it's about ten minutes away — if we get ready quickly and leave soon, we'll be able to hang for a bit before the sunset."

"o–oh, okay. hold on, lemme g–get ready." taehyung coughs, trying to hide his little smile by coughing unsubtly.
jungkook pretends to not notice as he pushes himself off the armchair, limbs creaking in protest as he moves towards the en suite bathroom. "be ready in five minutes, baby." knowing that the boy's cheeks'd be glowing a prominent shade of red upon hearing the term of endearment, jungkook grins to himself as he enters the bathroom, mentally commenting too cute, as he does so.

minutes later, he's out and stripping himself of his shirt — planning to enjoy the late summer's sun and get his pale ass skin a little bit more tanned. he leaves his black jeans on, forgetting to have brought any other trousers except black jeans and grey sweatpants.
deeming himself ready, he looks over at taehyung who's splayed out on the bed: dressed in his usual garb which just so happens to fit into beachwear. (he wears a loose white tee and black shorts that have nice white piping on the sides, conveniently displaying his long, tan legs that jungkook secretly loves).

"what're you thinking about?" jungkook asks, noticing the thoughtful look on taehyung's face as he nears the boy.

"you," jungkook raises an eyebrow, "and your family." taehyung rolls on to his front to look at jungkook better, "is everyone you're linked to, working a crime related job or?"

"what do you mean?" jungkook hums, grabbing his packet of marlboros from his back pocket, taking one and lighting it up as taehyung continues to talk.

taehyung focus
"jiminie hyung told me your evil twin works in human trafficking — is it a family thing to do criminal activities?" he asks, genuinely curious.

jungkook shakes his head, chuckling. "nah, i have no other siblings apart from junghoon and my mom and dad were your just everyday office workers."

taehyung flickers his gaze towards jungkook's eyes, "were?"

jungkook doesn't answer at first — thinking about something, he places the lit cigarette between his lips and breathes in the dangerous fumes, inhaling, exhaling and then, he speaks up in a calm tone. "my parents died when i was twelve. in a car crash." he responds blankly, staring at taehyung.

taehyung, immediately feeling bad for bringing it up so casually, hurries to apologise but jungkook gets in before he does. "if you're going to say 'im sorry', please don't. it's not your fault they died so why say that?"

"b—"

"id rather not talk about it, tae." jungkook murmurs, parting his lips to allow white tendrils of smoke to appear in the air before him. taehyung nods slowly, still feeling guilty when he looks away.

"shall we get going?" jungkook asks, turning his back on taehyung as he makes his way to the bedroom door, both verbally and physically shutting taehyung down. quiet, taehyung mumbles "okay" meekly and slides off the satin bed sheets, following after jungkook's wake.

jungkook offers a small smile to taehyung when he catches up to him, and slips his hand into the older's, squeezing it meaningfully as they both walk through the apartment in silence. the simple action is enough to reassure and comfort taehyung who smiles back, leaning closer to jungkook's side as they walk.

taking his time in working his way down the hill of golden sand and huge slabs of granite lining the edge of the privately owned beach, jungkook grins after an excited taehyung who races ahead, loose shirt flapping in the wind behind him.

after a short ten minute drive, they've arrived at their destination; a small stretch of sand accompanied by the never ending sea that hoseok and jungkook had bought privately two years ago, intending to use the beach as a little getaway when stress became overwhelming (jungkook had visited this beach several times during the period he was recovering from his shitty break up with haneul). he's not stressed this time however; he's happy, content and most importantly feeling alive, awake with taehyung by his side.

taehyung focus
"jungkook, it's so pretty!" the older squeals, enjoying the way the grains of soft sand slip past his toes as he dashes toward the blue sea that sparkles under the sun's weakening rays. having never been to the beach or to see the sea in all his twenty one years of life, taehyung revels in the view that surrounds him — endless amount of saltwater and sand meets the boy's widened brown eyes as he looks left, right, behind him and in front of him. the scenery a sight for sore eyes which he intakes breathlessly, feet coming to a stop as he admires mother nature at its finest.

"wow." he utters, feeling the cooling breeze against his tanned skin, fluttering his shirt slightly as he stands stock still. his dark eyelashes flutter shut as he marvels at the warm rays that bear down onto his face, probably tanning his skin a little more but he doesn't care — he's too busy enjoying the beach to give a shit about what his makeup artist back home will say about his darkening  skin tone.

"like it?" taehyung hears jungkook say, walking up to him with a knowing look on his face.
taehyung nods enthusiastically, "it's so freaking nice," he says, turning to face the waters again, "i just wanna jump right in."

"then," taehyung looks over his shoulder to see jungkook emptying his valuables onto the sand below, creating a mini cloud of dust to rise up at the impact. once his pockets are emptied, jungkook slips his sneakers off and takes taehyung's hand in his, pulling him towards the sea, a smile displaying his bunny like teeth as he says, "let's do it, tae."

a wide grin takes over taehyung's face in reply, running alongside jungkook towards the cool waters that rush to meet their bare feet as they near, sand turning damp and thick, and turquoise water tickling underfoot. running into the temperate sea, jungkook and taehyung laugh as they both hit the water, saltwater spraying in every direction — drenching them head to toe but they don't care, they're too busy having the time of the lives with each other; holding hands and wading through water, splashing each other in the faces and laughing hard.

the moment's so pure, taehyung doesn't ever want to let go of jungkook hand, doesn't ever want to stop laughing, doesn't want to stop having fun, doesn't want to leave this heavenly beach. right now, as he looks over at jungkook laughing (so hard his nose and eyes scrunch up), hears the water splash around him and feel the sun beating down on their drenched skins, taehyung believes that this is the most beautiful moment in his life.

they spend the rest of the hours left until sunset playing around; swimming (or in taehyung's case, paddling around in the shallow bit), splashing each other, chasing one another down the strip of sand, having an attempt at burying jungkook in the wet sand (again, in taehyung's case) and just generally having fun — something that taehyung realises he adores with all his might as he spends his time with jungkook at the beach, chattering together about the most randomest things that neither of them particularly care about. and before they know it, the sun is on full course to set, ready to rest for the night and let taehyung achieve his wish of sitting round a campfire at night.

having gathered driftwood before and piling it up haphazardly whilst taehyung splashes around a little more, jungkook takes his lighter and sets the dry wood aflame the same time taehyung decides to wade out of the water, wringing the heaviness from his wet shirt.
at first, the younger doesn't look up at the boy — he's too busy lighting up the driftwood and then lighting up his second cigarette to make note of — but he finally does take notice once his cigarette is lit and perched between his lips.

now looking up, he almost (almost) inhales the whole of his cigarette.

because as taehyung dries himself off as best as he could, jungkook's brown irises are practically glued to the boy. eyes travelling down from the red hair plastered to the boy's pretty face, to the white, almost see-through shirt that clings to his torso, to the boy's exposed, tanned, long, legs. taehyung's unaware that he's attracted a viewer until he turns around, asking jungkook if he had a spare shirt in the jeep for him to use. but noticing the way jungkook's eyes linger over his shorts that conveniently stick to the curve of his ass, taehyung's breath hitches in his throat — words failing to come to mind as he suddenly feels hot under jungkook's gaze.

the younger hastily looks away, taking his cigarette out to clear his throat awkwardly when he understands that he's been caught in the act. rather than act like an embarrassed twelve year old caught looking at porn, jungkook forms a cool front around him — placing his cigarette on his jutting lower lip, jungkook murmurs out that he has a blanket in the back of the jeep before pushing himself off of his haunches, strolling towards the car parked not too far away.
although, he has an i-don't-care-that-you-caught-me-staring-at-your-butt attitude on the outside, internally he's shitting himself with embarrassment and beating himself up for not being more subtle.

minutes later, holding a threadbare blanket in his hand, he comes back to find taehyung standing out to the sea, eyes lidded slightly as he watches the colours of the sunset spread; hues of lilac, pink, orange, blue swirl together behind the cover of the dimming sun that levels to their height, now slowly  sinking into the horizon.

"here." jungkook proffers, hoping that taehyung won't mention the butt staring thing again as he takes the ratty blanket, wrapping the fabric round his body.
instead, taehyung frowns — "aren't you cold, too?"

upon taehyung's words, jungkook suddenly feels the breeze whipping around his shirtless torso, rivulets of saltwater turning icy cold and trickling down his front without the sun's rays drying them. scratching at his toned stomach, jungkook mumbles through his cigarette, "sorta."

"wanna share the blanket with me?" taehyung proposes shyly (and jungkook has to physically restrain himself from pinching the older's cheeks).

"sure. c'mere." and that's how they end up with taehyung sitting comfortably between jungkook's spread legs, leaning against his chest with only the damp layer of his shirt between them. sitting in front of the campfire, taehyung snuggles up closer to jungkook's front, enjoying the boy's body heat and the warm blanket wrapped round them, enveloping them whole as they listen to the fire crackle and fizz in front them, filling up the silence between them. the silence isn't awkward or uncomfortable though — it's the complete opposite; it's soothing, calming after a few hours of loud shouts, splashing and laughter. to be sitting in silence like this is actually quite peaceful. words don't needed to be spoke, actions don't need to be inflicted — they're fine with sitting there, simply enjoying the fire, the soft waves and the warmth of one another.

the scent of cigarettes burning hangs in the air, coating the air with its thick fumes as jungkook inhales and exhales the thin cancer stick's additives –– now taehyung'd usually be very pissed off, would stub out the younger's cigarette and scold jungkook but he lets it go this time, already getting sorta used to the strong smell and being absolutely not bothered to move out of his position. he just stares up at the inky night sky now layering over the previous hues of colour, and the bright moon that's risen high over the similarly inky sea.

"so so so pretty." taehyung whispers. jungkook hums lazily in response, agreeing with taehyung's words.

small shivers run up taehyung's spine when jungkook moves closer, wrapping an arm round taehyung and placing his chin on taehyung's bare shoulder — his shirt having slid off his skin earlier. tilting his head and pressing a light kiss to taehyung's shoulder, jungkook murmurs, "so pretty."

now although taehyung doesn't know if jungkook's talking about the moon or him, he still smiles out at the seafront.
