We pulled our suitcases up the ramp leading to the airport's automatic doors. The first thing I noticed when we walked in was the temperature. It had to be below ten degrees in here. Unfortunately, all my sweaters were packed tightly into my suitcase. It was supposed to be a hot day after all. I wrapped my arms around myself in a feeble attempt to preserve my body heat. A few seconds later I felt soft fabric being wrapped around my shoulders. It smelt strongly of him.
I looked up, right into his bright green eyes. "Thought you would appreciate it."
More than you'll ever know, I thought. I pulled out my phone and logged on to Messenger. I sent my parents a quick text telling them that I had arrived at the airport and that I would be eating breakfast there.

"Quit shoving! Uhm... hello? I was here first. Can you guys just get in line instead of trying to sneak in?"
I smirked a little. Those unfortunate souls who had dared to cross paths with Kayla were about to be humiliated. I watched as the redhead raised her hands up in a surrender position, before rolling her eyes and stalking off to the end of the queue; but Kayla wasn't done with her yet. She grabbed her by the arm and pulled her back. The redhead squirmed in her grip but Kayla just tightened her hold. "Listen, missy, I don't want to hear you or see you ever again; so stay out of my sight." Then Kayla walked back towards us; brushing the imaginary dust off her hands.
I handed the flight attendant my ticket and she pointed me to the left corridor. I waited for my friends to come with me but they started off on the other aisle. Confused, I asked the flight attendant if she had read my ticket wrong. She checked it and told me there was no mistake. I frowned but decided that I would try finding where my seat was.
34A. That was what was written on my ticket. I had gotten a window seat-yay!- but unfortunately, Kayla, Dave and Harper's seats were a couple rows behind me. They were sitting in one of the middle rows and all their seat numbers were consecutive, meaning they would all be sitting next to each other. Harper, Kayla and Dave's seats were 39C, 39D and 39E respectively. Since Kayla was the one who had booked the flights I had no doubt that this was her doing.
Kayla had one thing coming her way though. The redhead whom Kayla had threatened by coincidence actually booked seat number 39F. I watched Kayla and the redhead's reaction as they saw each other. Kayla turned a dark shade of red- from anger or embarrassment I don't know, possibly a combination of both. She clenched her fists tightly and both Harper and Dave had to calm her down. I kind of felt sorry for the nameless redhead because she would have to suffer from Kayla's death glares for the rest of the flight. I guess I would be sitting next to a stranger for this flight.
I wasn't someone who was likely to pick a fight, so I just let it pass. At least I got the window seat. The plane took off without any interruptions. A few minutes after we went airborne I turned my phone on and plugged my earphones in. I clicked on the app Spotify and chose 'shuffle playlist'. Pompeii came on. I shrugged, it was a cool song. Then I grabbed my copy of the published version of The Good Girl's Bad Boys, pulled up the blinds and started reading it.
After a while, the flight attendants started serving drinks. I drank so many cups of lemonade that after only seven minutes I had to go to the toilet. Unfortunately, the plane had to choose that exact time to go through a turbulence. The seatbelt sign switched on and I was forced to sit back down again. I was desperate, but I didn't want anyone to shout at me.
After an agonising four minutes, we were finally allowed to stand up. I darted to my feet and politely asked my neighbour if she could move over. The lady scowled and moved her feet so that they were facing the aisle, never taking her eyes off the small television screen in front of her.
I huffed and raced down the aisle, my footsteps felt heavier than usually. I reached the end of the aisle- right where the toilets were. It seemed like all the passengers on the plane had decided to go to the toilet at this exact time. I took my place behind a queue of around eight people.
The food arrived shortly after I returned to my seat. The flight attendant served me a steaming container of mashed potatoes, chicken nuggets and some mystery sauce. It came with a small carton of apple juice, a plastic bowl of salad and some utensils. The food was okay, but it came in such small portions.
I spent the remainder of the flight rewatching movies on the small screen in front of me. I also pulled out my bullet journal and added a few notes to it. By the time we had landed it was around noon time. The immigration and suitcases were a pain but we managed to hail a cab ten minutes ahead of schedule. Then came the tricky part of seating arrangements.
Dave ended up sitting in the passenger seat and the rest of us squished ourselves into the back seats. I sat in between Kayla and Harper. Describing the ride as awkward would be an understatement. The minute we took off Kayla and Dave whipped out their phones and started texting, playing games or checking social media. I was tempted to do so myself but I knew I wouldn't be able to concentrate being this close to Harper.
He leaned in closer and spoke in my ear. "Guess it's just you and me huh?" I nodded nervously, excitement radiating off me. His hand brushed my knee and goosebumps erupted all over my skin. I had never had a serious crush or been this close to him before so this was a new to me. My slender hand knocked against his rough, calloused ones. He then grabbed my hand and enveloped it in his. I let out a small squeak and looked down at it, before looking back up at him with a questioning look. He smiled, obviously enjoying my discomfort. Then I knew he was playing with me. Well, two can play that game.

Hey, y'all! Thank you guys so much for all those lovely comments on my last chapter. I gained over 20 followers... but the thing I'm most excited about is the number of votes I got. I got over 30 votes (this may not seem like a lot to you, but it is to me) in that first chapter. Hopefully, you guys continue to read this story. I'm debating on whether I should make Hailey and Harper end up together. Their ship name is #Harley so it would be cool if you guys would comment that haha <3 This chapter wasn't really interesting so I tried to add some lovey dovey stuff at the end but I'm not really good at writing romance stuff haha. It's kinda awkward really but people like reading it so I'll try my best to write it :)
