Chapter 4

"No, truthfully, I can't say that I have." Tim sighs as he sits down next to Avi at the foot of the bed. "There's no place for love when you do what I did."

"What about that Austin guy?" Avi asks.

"Austin? No, well, don't get me wrong. I love Austin but not in that sort of way." Tim tries to explain.

"You love him but you're not IN love with him." Avi clarifies.

"Yeah." Tim replies. "There's no strings attached."

"You're lucky." Avi says sadly.

"Am I?" Tim asks, raising a brow.

"Yea, cause love hurts like hell." Avi says, looking down at his hands.

Tim sighs and wraps an arm around the smaller man's shoulders.

"I'm sorry, Avi. I wish I knew what to say to help heal the hurt. But I don't." Tim says. "I have no idea what you're going through. But I will say this much, this Mitch? He's one stupid motherf*cker."

Avi chuckles as he wipes his eye.

"I tell you what. Why don't you go take a shower and if you want to, we can cuddle and find a movie to watch." Tim smiles.

"I'd like that." Avi smiles.

"And I promise to be a good boy." Tim smirks as he holds up his hand as if taking an oath.

Avi chuckles and shakes his head as he stands and heads to the bathroom.

Tim grabs the remote and goes to one of the beds and gets comfortable.

He hadn't known Avi but just for a few hours. But he could already tell that Avi had a kind heart, one that is very rare and hard to find these days. He didn't deserve to be treated the way his husband had treated him. To give his heart to someone just to have it shattered by the one that you loved and trusted.

Tim's thoughts were interrupted by the bathroom door opening.

Avi exits the bathroom wearing a towel around his waist. His hair falling in damp curls on his shoulders and down his back.

"You feeling better?" Tim asks as he watches he cross the room.

"Yes, much better. I really needed that." Avi says as he picks up his garbage bag.

"We're definitely going to have to get you a suitcase." Tim chuckles.

"He didn't even bother folding them. They're all wadded up." Avi complains as he shows Tim a wrinkled tee shirt.

"Apparently he's not the brightest candle on the cake." Tim says with a smile, mindlessly watching Avi.

Avi slips on a tee shirt and as he reaches for his towel he looks up to see Tim's eyes still fixed on him.

"Uh, do you mind?" Avi asks, biting his bottom lip.

"What?" Tim asks, being brought out of his trance-like state. "Oh, I'm sorry." Turning his attention back to the television.

"No, that's alright. You staring was just making me a little uncomfortable." Avi chuckles.

"I didn't mean to." Tim says shaking his head. "My eyes and mind separated for a minute."

"Yeah, you did look a little pre-occupied in thought." Avi says with a smile as he sits down on the bed after getting ready for bed. "You had that zoned out look."

"I'm a deep thinker." Tim smirks.

"Uh, you did promise me a cuddle, right?" Avi says with a small smile. "I could really use one."

Tim smiles and holds out his arm. "Come mere."

Avi lays down next to Tim resting his head on the prostitute's shoulder.

Tim wraps his arms around Avi's small frame and hugs him closely.

"It might not seem like it right now, Avi." Tim says softly. "But it'll get better."

"Promise?" Avi says with a sad smile.

"Mark my word." Tim smirks as he gives the smaller man a quick kiss on the forehead. "You wanna watch a movie?"

"Not really, unless you want too?" Avi says. "I just want to sleep. I'm exhausted."

"Get you some sleep." Tim says closing his eyes. "We don't have to get up until check-out time."

"Tim?" Avi says softly.

"Hmm." Tim answers with a drowsy tone.

"Thank-you for picking me up." Avi whispers.

"No thank-you is necessary." Tim mumbles. "I just couldn't pass by a beautiful damsel in distress."

"Oh, you're slick." Avi laughs.

"It comes with the job." Tim chuckles.

"Ewww." Avi laughs as he cuddles closer.

~~~
Tim opens his eyes to see the sun shining brightly into the room. Avi lay snuggled into his side, his arm thrown around Tim's waist.
Tim glances around at the clock trying to focus on the time. 9:15.
"Hey, Sleeping Beauty." Tim smiles as he runs his hand up and down Avi's back. "We have 45 minutes before check-out."
"Noooo." Avi whines as he throws the blanket over his head almost hitting Tim in the face.
"I know, it's a rough life." Tim laughs uncovering his head. "But we need to get up and get moving."
"You first." Avi yawns.
"Well, that's kinda difficult. Considering you're almost laying on top of me." Tim chuckles.
"Sorry." Avi says rolling over to the other side of the bed. "But you were comfortable."
"You trying to say I'm fluffy." Tim laughs as he sits up on the side of the bed and reaches for his jeans.
"NO!" Avi laughs loudly.
Avi smiles as he watches Tim get dressed.
"Thank-you, Tim." Avi smiles.
"For what this time?" Tim smirks, as he pitches Avi some clothes.
"For doing what you could to cheer me up." Avi says, getting serious.
"You know, people thinks a prostitute is only good for one thing. But through my years of prostitution I've learned that people come to us in need of something, whether it's sex and just someone who will listen." Tim says as he sits down on the bed beside Avi. "Sometimes they don't even want sex, they just want someone to hold them. Someone to just spend time with and to talk to."
"I guess I'm one of the guilty ones that thought they only .... you know." Avi says.
"No." Tim smiles as he shakes his head. "We listen and then do our best to cheer people up. And I must say, I like seeing a smile on your face."
"Well, you did your job very well." Avi smiles. "I feel a lot better."
"I'm glad." Tim smiles. "That'll be $300."
