14- Lonely Little Kid

WILL POV-

Will felt the chapped lips pressed against his; like kissing a tree, he was sure he might be bleeding by the way Mike was biting his lip. The brunette shuddered, not liking this feeling wanting to pull away but the ravenette refused to let him go, one hand on his cheek with the other gripping his arm; an irreversible moment in time. He didn't know how to act in this situation; his eyes widened, stunned by the force.

After what felt like an eternity, but in actuality was a minute, Mike pulled away grabbing Will's wrist throwing the small boy behind him. The brunette breathed deep processing what just occurred; he kissed Mike... that was his first kiss. Why did that have to be his first kiss? Staring to the back of the ravenette's head burning a hole through him.

Richie mischievously grinned watching them honestly surprised at the kiss as his brother was never the physically affectionate type. "I'm gonna leave before you guys start porking each other in this bathroom!" the glasses boy pushed himself off the counter walking out with a bright grin on his face.

"Stop calling it porking!" Mike called out, reprimanding his twin.

"Porking!" Richie giggled, closing the door behind him.

The ravenette chuckled, not even noticing the impact the kiss had on the brunette; it meant nothing to him... but he kind of liked it, though he would never admit it; he was sure he'd like a kiss with anyone.

But behind him, Will seethed with pure rage right now, unable to hold his frustrations as he pushed the ravenette away from him, maintaining a far distance between them.

"What the Hell Will?" Mike accused, turning around to face him as he almost stumbled.

"Don't 'what the Hell' me!" the brunette complained, narrowing his eyes, "Do you not have a brain? Kissing me? Are you fucking serious?" his voice trembling with anger and hurt as he tried to prove his point.

"I was just trying to shut Richie up! He kept pushing and questioning, and it stopped him, didn't it!" The tall boy defended himself, "You should be thanking me! At least he won't ask you any more questions, you looked like you wanted to wet yourself!"

The small boy raised his eyebrows, "I'm not some prop you can use to prove a point! I might as well be a prostitute at this point... at least I'll get paid!"

"What do you want from me? An apology?" Mike replied, frustrated, "Because you do everything I say; no questions, nothing! Or do I have to remind you again?" he threatened

"Oh, here we go again, don't you just have some human decency or are you that devoid of emotion that you can't!" Will complained.

"I have emotions!" The ravenette spat back.

"Really? Do you though? All you do is hurt me anytime I don't do exactly what you tell me to!" The brunette said

"Oh, come on! You agreed to this, I didn't force you into anything!" the tall boy lied,

"You dickhead! You really didn't force me?" Will retorted, Mike's insolence only added fuel to the fire. "So I brought myself all the way from Indiana, huh? I certainly don't remember that conversation!" he threw his hands in the air allowing them to hit his thighs as they fall

"Don't act like such a prude!" Mike retorted, "When I found you in that taxi you looked like a bunch of guys had already been through you! I'm sure on kiss is nothing!"

"Don't talk about me like that." The brunette muttered, his voice firm yet shocked by the accusation.

"What, Because it's the truth?" The ravenette crossed his arms.

"I said don't talk about me like that!" Will repeated, his voice wavering.

"Oh please, don't act like you didn't enjoy the attention; I bet the handcuffs turn you on." Mike retorted, his words stinging with bitterness

"You're actually a monster! You kidnapped me, harassed me, beat me and then kissed me like it's all nothing!" The small boy felt his voice crack with pure emotions, his anger mixing with sadness.

"Get over yourself, you're so fucking dramatic! It was just a kiss, if you weren't so whiney all the time perhaps your dad wouldn't have locked you in the trunk as a child-"

SLAP!

The ravenette immediately got cut off as the brunette raised a hand to the air, smacking Mike across the face; anger etched into his very soul; not able to bear the way he felt. His hand hurt as the lingering sound of the touching skin reverberated through the air, bouncing off the walls.

The ravenette stood shocked, not knowing how to respond. The small boy instead stormed out the bathroom; the rage flowing through his veins. His legs quivered, trying to hide the anger and hurt he'd been feeling from the ravenette's family, putting on a forced smile as he pretended everything was fine. Deep inside though, he couldn't help shaking off the intensity of the argument he just had.

Karen noticed the tension in the air, looking concerned, "Is everything okay, Will?" she asked, her voice full of motherly love.

The brunette slightly nodded, sighing, "Oh umm, yeah, everything's fine. Just had a little mishap... that's all," he replied, hoping his answer would suffice; why was he even still here? He was terrified of what the ravenette would do to him and... he just made it a thousand times worse.

Mike followed a few moments later, trying to put on a composed demeanour as well, though there was still a flicker of anger in his eyes. He took a seat next to Will pretending nothing happened, yet occasionally taking glances from the brunette.

Karen, being the ever vigilant and observing person she was, noticed a slight shift in her son, scanning his features up and down, "Is everything alright dear?" she asked, concern evident in her eyes also being able to hear shouting from the bathroom but unable to decipher the words.

Mike tilted his head, not bothering to even fake a smile, "Yeah, of course! Nothing wrong at all!" He grumbled, lying straight through his teeth, in an attempt to downplay the situation as he side-eyed Will, who played with his food.

Ted chimed in, "Eh don't worry about it Mike. Couples have their ups and downs. You two will work it out." he said, casting a small smile on his lips though it was clear he wasn't accustomed to giving this type of advice.

The ravenette rolled his eyes, sitting as casually as possible, as though he didn't have a heated discussion and just got slapped a few moments ago. Nodding in agreement with his father, "Nothing... happened," Mike muttered, poking his food with his fork; someone would think he was the one being kidnapped and forced to act.

"Sure, it didn't..." The old woman exchanged a look with her husband telling him to let her talk, "Let's just all finish eating!" smiling bright to diffuse from the awkward situation.

Throughout the rest of the meal, Will felt a mix of emotions swirling within him; angry for being put in that situation and angry at himself for being unable to break free. He shouldn't have gone to the club on his birthday...

When the meal ended, Karen was the first to raise from her seat, an uncomfortable smile on her face as she announced, "Hey Will... do you want to help me with dessert?" she asked, urging him to follow.

The small boy blinked a few times, carefully following her to the kitchen as Mike watched him from his seat with an unreadable expression. Will shrugged it off but sometimes the looks burnt holes in the back of his head.

In the kitchen, the brunette helped the old woman with dessert. Using this moment of solitude, Karen spoke up, speaking privately, "You know Will..." she began with a soft smile, "Mike was a lonely kid growing up, it was tough for him, and he never really opened up to anyone."

The brunette raised his eyebrows slightly, shocked by the revelation; given Mike's looks and social ability, it was kind of expected by the small boy that he would have been a popular kid. "Really?" he mumbled in disbelief.

Karen sighed, her eyes showing genuine concern, "Yeah, he was... I'm glad he found someone like you." she trailed off,

The small boy felt torn in this situation; they really loved their son and apparently him. It made him think that there was possibly something more to the ravenette's behaviour rather than just a cruel persona, but that doesn't just remove all the bad he did, and he wouldn't just forgive him based on this one comment, "I'm glad..." he lied, looking in an opposite direction unable to meet her eyes.

"Mike can be... difficult to deal with but deep down, he is a good person!" The blonde woman placed her stack of plates down, "I know that he can be closed off and angry, but he just has a hard time expressing himself, and he's scared of getting hurt."

"I want you to know that Mike is a good person at heart!" Karen continued "He cares deeply about his friends and family but... sometimes he gets mixed up in the wrong crowd and I worry for him."

The brunette hesitated for a moment, not sure if he could really believe that. If he really was in a real relationship with Mike this would probably be a cute memory between himself and Karen, but right now it felt like a metaphorical smack in the face; he didn't know what to think. "I-I'll keep that in mind..." he mumbled, just wanting this conversation to end.
