The more one judges,

The less one loves

AVALON WOKE UP WITH A QUIET GASP, she sat up from her sleeping bag seeing the men snoring away. Avalon panted quietly feeling the sweat drip from her forehead, shaking her head she stands and swiftly and quietly heads out of the tent and sits down by the fire that was barely burning. Avalon decided to leave it alone and let it burn out as she sat down on the dirt thinking about her dream.

~

Avalon was running from the Magitek troop chasing her, she couldn't be more than nine or ten during her dream. She continues running but she couldn't scream for help. Avalon's voice couldn't be reached and she didn't know why. When she stopped, she saw she was trapped. Avalon turns around seeing the troop cautiously walking towards her with his gun up.

"Please, leave me alone!"

He didn't speak back, but he continues walking towards her, Avalon began to shake a little more and wonders her options. Avalon looks back seeing the wall stopping her from going further and when she glances up, she sees that it was to high for her to jump.

"Come with me, little girl." He said to her. Avalon's eyes widen when she turned around, she saw the stranger with red hair walking up to her. "I'm here to help you."

"No, stay away from me!" She calls out closing her eyes bending down putting her hands on her ears not wanting to listen to what he had to say. "I don't like you! Go away!"

And with that, she blacks out.

~

Avalon sighs trying to think about something else. Her sea-green eyes closed letting the tears fall down a little bit. She takes her hand digs her into her pocket grabbing her phone seeing it was two thirty in the morning. Sighing, she puts her phone up setting it back down on the ground as she looks at the fire. Getting up, Avalon gets up dusting herself off as she grabs her phone and begins to walk away from the camp trying to think of what she can do.

As she was walking Avalon was thinking her home back in the Crown City. Avalon had a quaint little home with not much in there, she lived by herself. Avalon never knew where her parents were or anything. She was just left on her own to an orphanage until she was old enough to go out on her own. But - when she heard Prompto was living by himself, she actually moved in with him.

"Avalon, come here, I'm waiting for you." The voice trails off once more. Avalon stops as her eyes widen. When she stops walking, she looks back seeing a blue light in the distance. Avalon rubs her eyes a little bit, opening them seeing the light still there. "Come here, Avalon, we're not gonna hurt you."

"No, just stop!" Avalon calls out and runs off back to camp. When she gets back to camp, she goes back into the tent and into her sleeping bag getting close to Prompto and leans against his shoulder falling back asleep.

When she has nightmares or anything strange happens, she always went to him and cuddled him. He actually didn't mind it so much for the fact that he was used to her doing it so much. Avalon was grateful for that, she always thanked him in the morning for it.

~

Avalon woke up when the gentlemen did, she was usually up before them but she guessed it was because the lack of sleep the other night made up for it tonight. Shaking her head, she got up and while walking out of the tent, she was combing her hair with her fingers.

"Wow, look who is finally awake." commented a familiar voice, Avalon looked up seeing Gladio staring at her. "How'd you sleep?"

"I guess okay..." Avalon spoke quietly trying to remember last night. "I still can't remember what happened during the times of the tombs, I'm hoping to remember soon so I can gather what's going on with me..."

"Take your time, Ava, no one here is gonna push you to remember." Noctis told her touching her shoulder gently and walking off to the car.

"Thank you, Noctis." Avalon sent a smile his way, she gathered some things from the campsite and headed to the car putting them in the trunk. She looked down seeing how dirty her clothes really were, sighing knowing a couple stains wouldn't come out unless they had the detergents available. "So, where to next?"

"We need to head to this spot on the map, and from there, we need to infiltrate the base to go further and meet up with Iris." Ignis informs her. "Don't worry, we'll be fine."

"I know, don't worry." Avalon smiles his way. "We went into this journey not knowing what we're going through. And besides, we need to get Noctis to his true love in Altissia."

The men chuckle as they all began walking towards the location, Avalon was trailing behind the men as they talked. They talked about meaningless things, but enough to keep a conversation. But Avalon was trapped in her own thoughts, thinking about last night and the other day. She didn't want them to know what happened. Why was she keeping it secret? They already had too much on their plates to deal with hers.

As they rounded the corner they saw Monica. Avalon watched her closely. "From here we will split into two groups, Prince Noctis, please join the marshal up ahead." Avalon took a breath as she continues. "The rest of you will assist me in the diversionary effort."

Noctis takes a little breath and turns towards his friends. "See you guys later."

"You go give 'em hell. We'll do the same on our end." Gladio told him making Noctis nod. Avalon trots up to Noctis touching his shoulder.

"Ava..."

"Let me do this, it'll only temporary, but it'll give you an edge." interrupts Avalon staring at him in the eye. "I know it's not much, but don't let them beat you."

Noctis smiles and nods, feeling his power rise a little bit. As Noctis walks off, Avalon stays still trying to determine what to do at this point. Feeling a touch on her shoulder, she jumps looking back seeing Gladio staring at her. Avalon nods following the men and Monica to create a diversion.

~

Avalon snuck up on a soldier, quickly striking him down. Avalon looks at another soldier who was unaware what was going on, she smirks heading towards him striking him down. Gladio and everyone followed suit and then Ignis nods towards them throwing a fireball making an explosion. The soldiers yell out  going after them, Avalon quickly struck down another one, when she was done. She followed them to go find them.

"You doing okay, little one?"

"Yeah! I'm fine," Avalon grins their way jumping in the air swinging her staff behind her, and then slams it down on a Magitek soldier. "You all look tired though." She giggles.

Prompto laughs shooting another one. "Don't start Ava, doubt your feeling any better!"

When the gate began opening, they all put their weapons away walking up to Noctis. They both stand there, watching the small group up walking towards the duo.

"Alright on your end?"

Gladio nods as they all stop. "Right as rain," Gladio responds. "The niffs couldn't take their eyes off us."

"Thanks to you we were spared their attention." Cor told them.

Before they could continue their conversation, a noise was heard above them. Avalon looks up seeing a Magitek engine coming to them.

"Stay right where you are!" called out a voice over the intercom, Avalon narrowed her eyes. "Well, well, if it isn't Cor the immortal. So, you survived the Citadel." Cor tensed up almost growling at the man speaking.

"Who's this cook?" questioned Avalon quietly towards Ignis.

"That's Logi, a Brigadier General of the Niflheim." Cor answered her quietly. "We've encountered before."

"But you won't survive what I have in store for you. It's past time your legend came to an end." As soon as the end of his sentence came to an end, he dropped down in a large suit of armor, Avalon was wide eyed at the armor in front of her.

"What the hell?!" Avalon yells out in shock. Grabbing her staff, getting ready to fight. "Will this ever end?!"

Putting her staff in front of her mumbling something under her breath and everyone felt their strength went up. They smirk and attack the soldiers. Avalon swings her staff against the soldiers and was slammed down by one behind her. When she landed on her stomach her breath left being. Avalon looks up seeing the soldier ready  to attack her, Avalon puts her hands down on the ground, pushing her legs forward kicking him away from her and Prompto shoots him, Avalon smiles his way and sees Noctis and Cor attacking Logi and finishing him off.

"Seeing you in action puts my mind at ease." Cor admitted to Noctis staring at him with a smile. "It's clear I don't need to worry no more. I'll return to watching the Niffs. Til next time, all of you. Take care." And with that, he walks away from Monica behind him.

"Ain't so bad once you get used to it," Gladio admitted as they all began walking past the base they just took down.

"Still a lot we haven't seen though." Prompto reminded him wrapping his arm around Avalon who giggled.

"There's still a lot to do, though." Ignis told him making Prompto sighs a little bit.

"Yeah."

Avalon smiles trotting ahead after getting out of Prompto's hold. "Well, we better buck up cause gentlemen, we're just getting started!"

They guys laugh as they continue off.

A/N: ANOTHER CHAPTER DONE! This one must be my best one yet, if not better than the last one. Maybe make one more after this one cause the next chapter is number 3 (in the game) but maybe the next one could be about Avalon's dreams or something. What do you think?
