You knew Archie had a thing with Ms Grundy, but you promised you wouldn't tell anyone. It only came out after Betty's mom found Betty's diary and confronted the two with it, taking Fred Andrews along with her. You'd gone round to Archie's to find him the night the news came out, but they weren't there. They came home 10 minutes later and Archie broke.
