"Get some sleep, Armin" Mikasa sighed as she glanced to the blonde man sitting on her left, Eren leaning his head on her right shoulder. 

"No, I won't fall asleep until you do. You haven't slept since that sad excuse of an assassination attack early yesterday morning. You need sleep, you're body not inhuman" Armin stubbornly argued back, crossing his arms over his chest as he gave a determined nod. 

"My body made to last this long at full power with little sleep. Why yours isn't, you need sleep and resting in good for your brain as well. You're only making yourself health for no reason, sleep" Mikasa replied, her face expression blank and her eyes dull once more but her voice spoke softly to her friend. 

"Nope, I can be stubborn and anyway I slept last night .. well most of it before we had to wake up and head to the underground" Armin mumbled back, lifting his head back and resting it on the back of the carriage. 

"Eren taking a nap" Mikasa reminded as she glanced to her other friend using her shoulder a pillow to nap on.

"Eren always takes the chance to slack off, that's not a real argument to use here" Armin shot back unimpressed over her comeback over this. 

"Armin for god shake just sleep, you won't ever out wake Mikasa .. trust me. I've lived with her longer and already accepted that defeat, just do the same" Eren huffed out in annoyance, his eyes closed and he didn't move an inch as he was comfortable and happy to drift back to sleep once more. He just wants to sleep without being disturb and he knew Mikasa was willing to give that. 

"Fine but you better wake us if something happens" Armin pouted back, shuffling around a little before resting his head on Mikasa left shoulder. 

"I will" Mikasa promised, leaning her head back as her hands stayed in her lap relax. 

"You don't have to wake me, I'm sure you can handle the living world why I care for the land of dreams" Eren mumbled, a sleepy grin on his lips as Mikasa just rolled her eyes. She was use to Eren lazy words by now. 

"Don't be a lazy jerk" Armin sighed, opening one of his eyelids, glancing towards his male friend who just wrinkled his nose in reply. 

"Night you two" Mikasa spoke, gaining back the peace between the three of them.

"Goodnight" Armin cheered, a bright smile on his lips before he closed his eyelid again. 

"Finally I can sleep in peace, don't slaughter humanity why I'm napping" Eren replied, adding a joke in the end before fully letting his mind drift to the lands of dream.

"No promises" Mikasa whispered playful.

Mikasa glanced to Eren than Armin, a fondness over seeing them still able to sleep peacefully even after all this time. She was glad that why they may have grown up and changed, not everything was changed about them. They were still the small group of friends who could trust each other and stay relax around each other. 

Her eyes than fell to the man sitting opposite to them in the carriage. He's stayed silent all this time, just watching them all during the ride. She met his gaze and he held it for awhile. 

"Is it wise to sleep why a wanted criminal sits opposite?" Levi finally spoke, breaking their tense silence.

"They know I'll be able to capture you or kill you if needed" Mikasa simply answered, Levi nodding over her answer.

"Must be nice to have so much faith in you" Levi admitted, leaning back in half of the carriage and letting his arms drape over the back.

"Not really, I just know what needs to be done" Mikasa replied unbothered, lifting her hands as she couldn't risk shrugging right now, not why her friends used her shoulders as pillows.

"So, the jackets. Why don't you hold a logo but you old ranks" Levi finally asked, his eyes moving to look at the area where a logo would have been printed or sew on but it was left as the plain grew square. 

"Easier to spot us in a crowd of soldiers if we're the only ones without logos. Those who wish us death can just try and kill us without bringing anyone else into the mess" Mikasa admitted as she glanced out the carriage door window, looking at the passing view. 

"You're rather calm over the thought that some hate you enough to want to kill you all" Levi muttered, his eyebrow raised as not many would act as cool as she was over someone wanting to kill her.

"It comes with change, not everyone welcomes It" Mikasa just answered like it was the most obvious thing in the world earning Levi to frown. 

"You're changing everything, not just a small town but all those in these walls. No wonder they'll want to kill you but it's impressive that the three of you have done all this alone" Levi replied, giving a slight shrug like the reason was the most obvious thing in the world. Smirking as he noticed the women before him rolled her eyes over his comeback. 

"We're skilled and we don't get distracted from the dream, we have nothing to hold us back from completing it" Mikasa said with a bit of pride, her eyes honest but a slight pain filled her eyes.

"Hmm, makes sense" Levi hummed back, nodding his head a little why he crossed one leg over the other. 

"We also control the Military Police, the Garrison and now the Survey Corps. Even the training grounds and rules are changed for the better. Teaching a soldier to be true and loyal, not to live for him or herself. To protect those they promised to protect and give their lives like they signed up to do. I won't let others lives be wasted just for soldiers to keep the drunk life" Mikasa gave her simple but proud speech, letting the truth be told why not being smug or hated over it. 

"That's why you don't use logos, you belong to more then one group. You run them all and yet you're casted out from them all as well. You don't belong to anywhere but those logo less jackets. Rather proud but rather lonely, why not open yourselves to another .. learn to trust more" Levi replied his findings, looking at the women once more and trying to figure something out but failing in doing so. 

"I think we both know that trust and respect is to be earned not given. Some might agree with us but they'll still happily kill us for the easier road in life" Mikasa simply said, a knowing eyebrow raised as Levi had to nod in agreement over that. 

"So, Erwin. How come you arrested him? He seemed like a decent human in my eyes" Levi asked instead, changing the topic as he didn't want her finding out more of himself than she probably could see. 

"Yet he did business with you, unlawful business. He is also willing to waste every single life he needs to give up just to escape these walls and get what he wants. He may have lead the Survey Corps outside the walls for a while but he's no different than those in the Military Police, at least they don't hide their faults behind fake hero speeches. He may feel guilt but he won't stop sending those to their deaths ... we could overlook the survey corps facing titans became they willingly gave their lives for the course. But Erwin, he's one sick bastard for playing his act as well as he did. I'm sure you knew what he truly was, you did business with him and faced him. Is he the hero or the one pulling the stings to gain what he wants in the shadows?" Mikasa slyly replied, crossing her own leg over the other and meeting with Levi gaze, wanting to see his honest thought over the matter.

"He clearly knows how to pull the strings, I'm sure he was in for a shock when you three came along" Levi admitting in a small voice, glancing away as he knew there was no point in playing the long game with her. 

"He was and now he's in a cell" Mikasa simply said, her eyes falling back towards the window. 

"And you three .. what happens when you retire, do you think everyone would stay truthful and loyal. Things will fall back to how they are now" Levi asked, looking to her why she was distract with the window and letting his eyes fully take in the sight before him. 

"True but we're hoping to at least have life better for everyone enough that they all stand a little prouder and keep the walls a nicer place to live. That they become greedy for the better life and work to keep it once we've left. I hope that both surface and underground is living as one not as two separate people" Mikasa told her dream, letting her hope leak in her voice and showing that she was just a simple human being that wanted the better life just like he did. 

"I like that dream, I'll admit that much. But the look in your eyes tell me you don't expect to live long enough to see it" Levi smiled slightly, a true and rare smile as he looked to her why his eyes held a slight pain to them. 

"Not really, we're not very well liked. Someone tries to kill us all the time and someone will achieve in killing us. We're racing against the cloak and no one wins against time" Mikasa answered with a frown, her eyes glancing to each of her friend as she knew she may fail in protecting them one day or will die before them. 

"Fair enough but I do expect to see you very alive rather soon or I might quit being this so called hero in spite" Levi spoke, his voice gentle but promising. His eyes determined over his want in seeing her stand alive at the end. 

"Why are you so interested in me, I would have been the one to give your death sentence. I'm destroying the way you live .. why won't you hate me like everyone else?" Mikasa finally asked, her eyes curious as she looked to him.

"Even a thug has his ace" Levi answered, a smirk on his lips as his eyes shined. 

He may be a thug but he had just found his forever ace that he wanted to keep hidden away and kept to him and him alone. She would be her ace, if she knew it or not.
