"My story" Mikasa repeated, glancing over her shoulder to Levi. It had been a month since this so called truce project had started and the two had gotten a better understanding of each other. They made their own truce why also not playing the fool either.

"Yes, we've heard everyone story but yours. It's just us, we're both sitting here with a cup of tea and watching the stars. So, tell me. What is your story?" Levi softly spoke from where they sat on the steps of the porch, a cup of tea in their hands as they looked to the night sky filled with stars.

"Both of my parents were fully human, both came from a human only bloodline. But I was born as a gifted, it was shocking and it's rare. Only one in a million, guess I was the one. But instead of killing me or throwing me away, my parents kept me and loved me. We grew up on a farm in the middle of the woods, they helped me train my power and to live a normal life, to be able to live freely even once I grow up. But, criminals came for my mother because of her rare beauty. They planned to sell her for a good price, they killed my father and my mother tried protecting me making her lose her own life in doing so. They took me instead, knocking me out and when I woke up I was in the hidden slaves shop ready to be sold. I broke, using my powers and killing those who took me and took my parents lives. I helped free the other children but hunters came, instead of fixing on the crime of my parents they chose to hunt me down instead .. they didn't even stop to help the children that could still be saved. I was the only monster in their eyes, Eren found me one morning and helped me from being killed by a hunter. I was only nine but Carla treated me as her own daughter, I was given a second chance at having a family yet that was taken from me in the end too" Mikasa answered, her voice small and broken as she closed her eyes. She was reliving the past, her past that only brought her pain and the harsh truth over gifted never being truly free.

"My mama, she loved gifted people. She helped hide them and sometimes gave them food, clothes even a bit of money if she found one. She was a good women, she was a single mother and still cared for me. She always told me to never see a gifted as anything more than a broken human. But she grew sick, I was only five and I heard rumours over a gifted having healing powers. So, I snuck out like the stupid brat I was to where I knew gifted hid within the town .. by the sewers. Some knew who I was, other's didn't and the one that my mama helped went to find the gifted to help my mama. He never did save her, he wasn't going to risk being sensed by a passing hunter just for saving a useless human who might turn on him in the end. I had to watch my mama die, slowly and painfully and an anger grew in me. I buried it deep, remembering my mama love towards gifted and I carried on my life with my uncle who left me alone when I was ten. I met two other orphans and we lived as thugs like idiots, one day we bumped into some gifted .. they slaughtered my friends and almost killed me but I killed them first somehow. My friends were innocent, we were just walking towards a job and they got killed for being human. My anger returned and I joined as a hunter .... there's never a single bad guy, just someone who repeats history" Levi spoke, adding his own story as he wanted to stay on equal footing with Mikasa. They were one of the same in a sense and he wasn't going to let her be the only one brave enough to show a weak side.

"Everyone kills out of fear" Mikasa mindlessly commented, her eyes glancing back up the stars as Levi sipped his tea.

"It's the only way a person can kill" Levi added, Mikasa nodding in agreement over that.

"I don't believe in freedom since something can always take it away but I will hold hope for an a simple life. I wouldn't mind an simple life" Mikasa muttered, lifting her mug to her lips and taking a sip of her still warm tea, letting it warm her up a little.

"The simple life, heh? Doesn't sound so bad" Levi mumbled as he looked to the stars, a new hope growing within his life at the thought.
