She couldn't help but unconsciously hum the old folk song to herself. It was an old tune sung to her by her parents when she was still alive. She held no memory of the words to the song or much of her life before.

She just knew the tune and hummed it to herself without noticing it half the time. Even with Armin helping to pass on her old memories. She never saw or remembered all of her old life before she was born as a guardian.

She didn't mind. She felt as if she was a different person to the women she stood to be when alive still. She was happy to live her second chance as someone new. But the tune always stayed and she liked it too much to wipe it from her mind completely.

She held no bug plans today. Staying in her hut and knowing Eren would be busy with all his over piled paperwork. She felt bad for him sometimes but he always ignored the paperwork until the last able second.

She'd have to remember to check on his office later that day, help carry him to bed and tuck him in. He never really did read the helpful guide book left behind by the easter rabbit before him. She had tried to help, give some good advice and useful tips but he never listened.

As long as the island was still standing and easter still happened. She could overlook everything else.

It wasn't her place to step in, she wasn't the easter bunny after all. She merely lived in a hut on the edge of the island that Levi had gifted to her and Eren thankfully left her to stay living in after he was given the guardian role.

She never really missed the old guardians, the original ones. She had only been round them for hundred of years compared to them all standing beside each other from the start. She only truly missed Levi. He had popped up a couple of hundred years after the rest of the originals and so, he out lived them a little longer.

He lived long enough to watch the originals slowly pass one by one, being replaced by newly chosen souls who stepped up and did well as their own versions. He was proud of them all, even if he never admitted it to anyone but her.

She was born to join the next generation, not his. She simply came along a little early and was left to watch the originals die out. To be told their secrets and tips, promising to pass on traditions and good wishes to the next generation that they'd never meet themselves.

And maybe she had selfishly clung to Levi near the end. Not ready for him to go when she knew he could live much longer. He was stuck in the middle just like she was and she wasn't ready to be the last one.

But he had gone, neither of them had the power to make him stay any longer than he already had.

So, she hummed the song as she always did on easter's morning.

Wondering around her hut and getting ready for the day, knowing all the bunnies and chicks would need to be gathered up and carried to bed after all their hard work was done.

She'd have to check on the easter rabbit too, get him home and in bed. Help to clean up the island while the rest finally slept, they all deserved the rest now easter was done and finished.

Snow forming under her feet with ever step as it always did and she carelessly swing her staff around without a care. Forming snowflakes in the air as a single warning that she was making her rounds to gather any collapsed or still working easter worker.

They could all pick up work tomorrow but for today, they've done their duties and deserved well earned rest.

Slowing down her steps as she reached the path to the main area of the island, counting down the seconds where Eren would hop out from his tunnel with his run completed successfully. Giving him an hour to finish up any of the more important paperwork needing his attention.

Taking one last glance to her hut, it was far in the distance but she couldn't help but smile at the sight.

Her hut was special, a gift given to her when she held no home or a place to belong.

Her very first easier as a guardian had her waking up inside an unknown home and ready for a fight. But once she stepped outside, she understood it all and had never felt more touched before.

Her hut was shaped as an easter egg on the outside. Designed and built for her in mind and personalised for her and her alone. It was her chosen egg, her gift from the eater bunny. A home she'd always belong too.

Levi had blessed her with a place to belong and a family in that single morning and he made sure she'd never forget it either.

So maybe she wasn't just helping out with Eren and keeping the island clean and safe. She was protecting her own home, looking after the home she belonged too while counting down the days to meet with the second family she was blessed with.

She'd always love her first family when she was alive and she loves her third family as they stand as guardian's togehter. But she'd never stop loving Levi as he promised to never stop loving her even as his spirt was taken and replaced.

Eren wasn't Levi, he never would be but he was Levi's student and she was going to make Levi proud but helping him to stand as the second best easter rabbit ever.
