"Do you wish for death?" Erwin asked as he stared at the calmly sitting titan shifter in his office, she was placed on one of the comfortable chairs before his desk why two of his captains sat on the sofa by the centre of his office and the last captain leaned against the wall by the door. 

"If I wish to Live or to Die, Death always wins in the end. I'm fated to die, by your hands or by my own titan power .. I will end up dying and my soul will be left in hell" Mikasa simply answered, unbothered over being captured by them instead of killed. She did hold important information after all, she was needed alive for the intel she held. 

"Why didn't you kill Erwin? You held his life in your hands after taking me down?" Levi asked next, his eyes has never drifted from her and now he leaned on the wall just staring at her back. 

"I told you, did I not?" Mikasa replied smugly, crossing one leg over the other making the night with the wine flash back through the captain mind.

"You didn't kill me either" Levi remaindered, not caring over the looks he was gaining from the others in the room. Hanji and Mike silly grins or Erwin amused look was unnoticed by him. 

"And I don't regret it" Mikasa answered as she looked over her shoulder, meeting his age.

"I think what we wish to know is why? Why betray your boss? He clearly sent you to kill one of us but we're all rather alive and now he's dead" Erwin spoke calmly, breaking the mood between the two Ackerman's before both forget they weren't alone in the room.

"It was clear that no one could ever kill the commander why he had his watch dog. Kill the dog and than you'll be able to kill the master, rather simple logistic. I would have figure you could work that out without me telling you so but guess those who face titans aren't as smart we as think" Mikasa sighed as she rolled her eyes, crossing her arms as no chains or cuffs were placed on her yet. 

"So, Lord Reiss decided that if he kills Levi than he could finally find a way to kill me. It's true that Levi has caught most who tried taking my life but I'm not victim either. Trust me on that. But your orders were to kill Levi, yet he's still alive .. why?" Erwin replied, a serious and curious look in his eyes as he crossed his arms, standing up and walking around his desk with her eyes watching his every move. 

"He may call me as his pet but I'm the one who held the true power. I just played along, like Kenny did and just waited for my death to come. But I also had a secret promise to give, and I have completed such promise. You met Grisha Yeager, he told you the truth and over the warning dangerous that are coming. I gave Levi three names, I'm sure you've handled that threat otherwise say goodbye to your walls" Mikasa spoke, the only answer she'll give them for now at least. All four admitting defeat, not pleased to do so but knowing she won't say anything she didn't wish to. 

"Stay" 

Silence filled the room, shock filling Erwin, Hanji and Mike faces as they turned to the owner of the voice. Mikasa shakily stood, her eyes wide as her lips parted. She stood completely stunned over the single word he spoke.

"Stay" Levi asked once more, his eyes staying on her and her alone. He only spoke what she needed to hear, the word that held a hand out to her once more and a hand she would be willing to stay.

"For six years" She promised, tears filling her eyes but she wouldn't allow them to fall as he just gave a slight nod, a tiny hidden smile on his lips as he knew he would never regret holding out the invisible hand to her. 

Five Years Later...

"Don't wish for death" He asked her as they sat on the edge of the wall, their legs hanging over the edge as they took in the setting sun.

"You can't promise to give me your life forever" She remaindered, her eyes staying on the view before them as she wanted to enjoy the small memories they could make without any pain filling them. 

"I would never give you a promise that I may never be able to keep. I could never let you break because of my false promise" He sighed, running a hand through his hair as he knew how much that promise would break her if he broke it himself. She would lose any hope left in that heart of hers and he couldn't bring himself to be the one who destroyed it. 

"Than why should I fight to live, I wish to stay with you" She argued back, turning to him and she knew he could feel her hand shake a little in their laced hands. 

"You have no more to lose, we'll be a family that will never be taken from you. Even in my death, another soldier will hold the same wings of freedom logo as me" He answered, turning to her and giving their joint hands a comforting squeeze. He knew she feared to become alone all over again but he wanted to give her comfort that she had a much bigger family now that will never run out. 

"But I don't want to lose you, I won't want anyone but you" She choked out, her eyes falling to their hands and her grip tightening as she feared he'll disappear if she let go. 

"And you think I wish to see you accept death like this" He hissed back, pain in his eyes as he stared at her. 

"No one can replace you but anyone could replace a titan shifter" She replied, her eyes showing how much she believing her own words.

"Not you, not to me. No one could ever replace you .. not to me" He snapped back, his eyes wide and desperate for her to believe his own words. He saw her so much more than a titan shifter that helped defeat the titans, he saw the women before him. The women who stole his heart without him having a chance to hide it away. He loved their snarky comments, their work outs together and going against each other like it was life or death. Their silent chats, their secret moments and the times where they can just love each other without hiding who they are. They weren't a titan shifter or a beloved hero when alone, they were just Mikasa and Levi .. two people who lost their hearts to the other. 

"I'm sorry, my fate is already sealed" She finally admitted, her eyes turning back to the night sky above them. She had accepted the limited time she had left, she couldn't turn back time and reject Rod Reiss offer because she would never have the chance to meet Levi.

"Than take leave with me, we'll have that peaceful life. We'll marry and I'll make you shine bright than any star in the night sky. We could start that family, we have a little over a year left .. we could make it happen" Levi offered, hope filling his eyes as he squeezed their joint hands once more and stared at the moon. Images of the future he promised flashing on the moon surface making him want it even more. 

"And once this little of a year pass, I'll leave you as a widow and as a single father. A child who won't ever remember me and won't even know you as you return to Erwin side and work. I promise myself to never leave a family who won't be cherish truly" Mikasa replied, a pained frown on her lips as she couldn't do that to the ones she love. She couldn't just leave them, watch them break apart from hell and not being able to do anything to stop it. Just dying knowing she was the reason. 

"I can't promise to be the best husband or the best father but I know I'll love you and our child, till my last breath and even in our next life. All I ask is for you to take a chance on us" Levi spoke in a begging tone, his eyes pleading as he glanced to her, wanting nothing more then to give her that happy ending. He just needed her to take the risk, to take a chance at gaining a new regret or living without the regret if she learnt to love the life he can give.

"I'm sorry" She barely whispered loud enough for him, her body shaking as she held back her tears not wanting to cry before him. 

He never replied, just pulling her close and wrapping his arms around her as he pulled her closer. Placing a kiss in her hair before they silently watched the stars above them. Taking in the breath taking view and enjoying the warmth they shared with each other. 

Right now, they were just them and nothing more or less. 

No titles and no sealed fates could ever touch them. 

One Year Later..

He felt cold, barely able to feel her warm temperature as she held him close. 

Markings left under her eyes proving she pulled out from her titan form just moments ago to rush to him. 

Her pale hands now rest as so was his white uniform. 

He felt her trying to wipe away the dribble of blood from his chin but it only smudged it more.

All he could do was fight back the pain, lose himself in the teary eyes that stared at him pleadingly to not leave her. 

The same eyes that held love for him, that held warm and devotion to and only ever stared at him from the start. 

He truly was loved, no, he still he loved by her. 

"You were right" He finally spoke, not even trying to give a sappy goodbye because she didn't deserve such a selfish one sided farewell from him. 

"This isn't the time to fuel my pride, I don't think it's the time or place to reply with a "I told you so" but I'll be glad to do so once we return to the walls" She replied with a weak smile, fighting back her tears not wanting him to feel guilty over being the one to make her cry.

"Maybe not but I have to say it. It was best we never tried living that boring simple life, never trying for that child .. it would have been cruel to the child" He muttered, his hand settling on her cheek as he stayed looking at her and not even caring over the clear sky above.

"No, we should have took the risk. Taken the chance and have that happy ever after we talked about. You deserve that life, I should have tried giving you it" She argued back, a frown on her lips as she wished she did take the chance just over a year ago. 

"I would have only hated myself if I became a father, we both know the child would only feel second best to life. We both rushed out to this battle, if Erwin had asked me to join even why we lived the simple life, I would have left. You would have no choice since we need your titan powers and our child would have been left behind. They would have felt unloved and unwanted as we never returned ... I would only learn to hate myself for doing that to our child. At least now I can die knowing you'll be joining me soon, we'll find peace together soon" He replied, his voice gentle and honest why his thumb rubbed over her cheek, trying to sooth the one he loves.

"We'll go together, we'll find that peace together .. just please don't leave me" She choked out, her tears falling without her consent and all he did was smile.

"God, you're beautiful" He whispered with a love sick smile.

"I'll look even better after a shower" She weakly joked, earning a slight laugh from the one she loved.

"I'll only say this once more, I love you Mikasa" He confessed with a warm smile, his eyelids slowly closing as she leaned down.

"I love you Levi" She confessed back, joining their lips and a single second later he felt limp in her hold. 

"We'll go together" She mumbled once more, holding her love closed as yellow electric flashed around her. 

Her arms tightening around her lover as her titan form started to grow, pushing them both in the single nape and keeping them trapped together. 

Her legs running as far as she could, she had a single day before she would die but as long as she stayed in her titan form she'll lose her control. She'll become a dumb abnormal titan and someone will slay her free soon. 

She'll die with her titan shifting powers, she'll die with all those secrets and she'll be free to rest in peace with the one she loves. 

She'll finally have a sealed fate..
