Chapter 6

Ive been trying to write for my other stories, but right now this is the only one that I have ideas for

I tossed the volleyball up and down over my face. My feet dangled off the edge of the bed, and my baggy pajama pants fluttered as I bounced my leg.

I couldn't help but glance over to the pants on my bedroom floor. I was so tired the night before, I didn't have the energy to wash them, but that wasn't what was bothering me. The corner of paper I could see sticking out of the pocket mocked me.

In my spacing out, the ball slipped through my fingers and landed on the side of my face, then rolled to the floor with a thud.

"SHIIIV--" I said trying to control myself. "What the heck (f/n)! You idiot."

I sat up, rubbing my head. My phone dinged and I grabbed it quickly.

Noya: waddup nerd, me and Ryu have a test tomorrow and we need help studying

I sighed. Of course they wait until the night before to start studying. I texted back.

(Y/n): Got a lot of homework tonight... Not sure if I can make it. But you can start with grammar... it's "Ryu and I"

Noya: aww come on (f/n), we r really hopeless... call l8r if u got time

I snickered to myself. I barely had any homework. I'd probably do it in the morning before school. I'd been "tutoring" Noya and Tanaka for as long as I could remember, it was about time they started paying me to be honest. But I knew that'd never happen, and it would probably be rude to ask.

I glanced back at the paper on the ground. "Hmph, that guy is such an idiot. Who does he think he is?" I looked back at the ceiling. I couldn't reach the volleyball, and I really didn't feel like getting up. "Well I want my sweatshirt anyways," I said as I sat up in the edge of my bed.

I grabbed the hoodie hanging off my desk chair and pulled it over the cami tank top I was wearing. As I reached for the volleyball, my phone buzzed in my pajama's pocket. The ringtone blurted out and I almost lost my balance.

I whipped out my phone, and swiped to answer. "Noya! I told you I have work," I said, regaining my balance.

"Oh my assistant-san! You answered so quickly!" An unfamiliar voice rang out.

"Oh my- I'm so sorry I thought you were someone else. But, I think you have the wrong number." I pulled the phone from my ear and noticed the number wasn't one of my friends.

"Huh? That's odd, I thought this was a girl I met. You're not (l/n)-san are you?"

"Well, yea I am," I said nervously. Was I about to be abducted?

"Oh. Hi (l/n)-san! It's me, Oikawa Tooru!" I froze, my mouth wouldn't move. My brain didn't know what to think and I didn't know what to do. "H-hello?" Oikawa said again.

"Uh-hi," I could barely muddle the word out. "Wait, how did you get my number?" I rummaged through the pants pocket and grabbed the paper that had been mocking me previously. I double checked to see if the numbers matched, and they did.

"Well," he started, but didn't finish, "I have my ways, haha."

"Erm, okay? What do you want?" I asked as I sat down on my bed. I was still skeptical, but I couldn't bring myself to hang up.

"Well you didn't call me yesterday, which is really rare for a girl. Most girls would die before I could even give them my number." I didn't know this person, and yet I could easily hear the narcissism in their voice.

"Yea, I didn't know most girls like jerks. Bye-"

"W-wait!" The voice blurted out as I was about to hang up. "Could you meet me somewhere?"

"What the heck? No way!" Who did this dude think he was. It was almost dark and he wants to meet me somewhere, what a creep. "I'm not one of your blush-crazy fangirls, okay? And I'm not gonna fall for a fake pretty boy like you!"

"Listen," he started. "I think I came off the wrong wa-"

"I don't wanna hear it, jerk." I quickly hung up.

My bear stared at me from across the room, mocking me. "Hey, don't look at me like that." I paused. "Oh come on, it wasn't that rude. He deserved it! You should've seen how he treated the team." I paused again. "I'm not crazy! You're crazy! Rudeness was begging to be served to him, okay? Hmph."

I laid back down and stared at my phone. Maybe I was a little harsh. The guy just wanted to talk. I knew I couldn't call him now, I'd have to wait. Because, thats what people do right? You can't be too desperate... or something like that.

My phone went off again, and I quickly checked it.

Noya: update: we rly need ur help (f/n)!! When will u be done?

(F/n): fine, I'm on my way
