Chapter 4

Okay, Im outside right now (wow, ikr) so lets pray that my computer doesnt die. also, i apologize this update took so long. for some reason i cant update on my phone, so i had to wait until i had access to my computer which took a while.

"Idiots," I mumbled as I inserted money into the vending machine outside of the gym. I picked out one of the sodas and waited for it to drop into the compartment. I heard the gym door open, and I peeked around the corner to see who it was. "Oh, Kiyoko-san, what're you doing out here, shouldn't you be watching the game?"

"I suppose," She said, "But you're the assistant manager, so I could be asking you the same thing."

"O-oh, well, I don't know."

She walked up next to me and put coins into the vending machine. "Is it because of that Oikawa guy?" Kiyoko-san said, as she began to drink the juice box.

"Yeah, I guess. Guys are just such idiots. Not to mention that the two dufases embarrassed me. I can stand up for myself."

Kiyoko smiled at me, "Noya and Tanaka are pretty protective of you, aren't they?" I nodded, feeling pretty stupid about it. We began to walk back into the gym. "Well," she said, "When you're cute like you are, boys are bound to give you attention." Kiyoko giggled as I blushed.

"Oh please, I'm not cute Kiyoko-san."She smiled at me and continued inside.

(A SHORT TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY IWA'S ASS)

Both teams were cheering as the possession swapped between teams in the third match. The aura of the whole room was overpowering tension. I especially noticed it between Oikawa and Kageyama. I assumed it was because of what Kageyama had told me before about their previous relationship as teammates.

Kageyama eventually became very tense, and stopped setting regularly. "Kiyoka-san, something's wrong with Kageyama." I whispered.

"You're right (l/n)," Coach Ukai looked over at me. "What would you recommend to do about it?"

I wasn't sure why he was asking me. "Well, I think the best thing for the team would be to switch him out with Sugawara-senpai, until he's ready to go back in."

"Hm," He smirked. "I completely agree with you, but it's the third set, Sugawara would most likely stay in for the rest of the match." I nodded, that made sense, but I knew Kageyama would be upset about not being able to finish the match on the court.

Coach Ukai called Sugawara over, and handed him a number 9. I felt bad, even though it was best for the team. The referee blew his whistle and Kageyama was taken off of the court. Although we no longer had Hinata and Kageyama's quick, with Sugawara on the court, the third and second year functioned better as a team.

Despite the change in players, we lost the third match. Everyone seemed a bit torn, even though this was supposed to be practice. They took it more seriously than that.

Cleanup was quiet, and much less energetic than usual, which bothered me.

I walked outside to take out the trash, I saw that Aoba Johsai still hadn't loaded onto the bus. "Shit," I really didn't want to be near the team after what happened before the game. I sneaked around the opposite side, and made it to the trash cans. "Okay, just one second! I gotta throw this away!"

Crap. Shit. FUCK. I frantically threw the bag at the trash cans, accidentally knocking them over, and making a huge sound of metal against metal against cement.

"Hey! Are you okay?!" A tall figure ran up to help me as I tried to fix the trash cans.

"Uh, y-yeah, I'm just an idiot, heh," I said. I looked up to see the team captain of Aoba Johsai looking down at me. Somehow the light reflective off of aluminum trash cans made him look angelic (haha trash king).

"Oh, it's you," he said blushing. "Are you alright?" He reached his hand out to me.

I squinted my eyes at him, "Shut up jerk!"

"W-what?"

"You heard me!" I stood tall, with my arms folded across my chest. "You're good looks aren't going to blind me of your jerkiness."

"How do you know I'm a jerk? We've never even had a formal conversation." He smirked.

Woah, he's actually really pretty. "Because, I don't need to have a conversation with you to know you're a jerk. You're mean to Kageyama and my team, that's all I need to know."

"But I'm not mean to pretty girls!"

I felt my face go wildly red and hot. "W-well,"

But you wouldn't know that because we've never been alone together." He said quietly, leaning closer to me.

"H-Hey, get away from me!" I yelled.

"All I'm saying is if you went on a date with me, then you'd be able to know who I really am. Hasn't anyone ever told you 'Dont judge a book by its cover'?"

"Are you...asking me out?"

"Why not?" He said with a huge childish smile. I looked him up and down skeptically. "Well, if you change your mind, I'm always available." He handed me a small piece of paper with a phone number on it. Does this guy seriously keep his phone number on him all the time?

Oikawa smiled and turned, walking back to his bus. I looked down at the paper. Hmph, whatever. I shoved the paper in my pocket, and walked back to the gym, my heart was still beating out of my chest.

Hehehehehe cuteeee.
