I watched the team warm up from the bench on the side of the court. A few students from the  Aoba Johsai team were also warming up on the other side of the gym, including the boy Oikawa Tooru who I'd unfortunately met earlier. Although, he seemed like a real jerk, I couldn't deny the fact that he was a good captain. He both coached and encouraged his teammates  with things they needed to improve on. And his teammates listened.

"Iwa-chan!" I heard him yell out. A tall boy with black spiked hair turned around with a scowl to Oikawa.

"What now Shittykawa!?" He said impatiently. 

"Iwa-chan," He wined, "You're so meannn!" I was just going to ask you how close to the net you want me to toss!" 

"Closer," he mumbled.

"Okie, Okie!" Oikawa smiled. 

It was obvious that he'd formed a bond with his team by how they all interacted with each other. Looking at our team, we definatly weren't as developed as them. Some players had bonds with each other, but many of them still occasionally fought, especially the first-years. 

"Hey Shrimp!" Kageyama said to Hinata. "Get out here already!"

I turned to see a dazed Hinata on the side of the court. He looked up at the gym cieling, his mouth was slightly open. I walked up to him cautiously. 

"Hinata-kun?" I whispered. He slowly turned his head toward me without a word. "Hinata-kun, whats wrong? Did something happen? Are you gonna throw up?"

"K-Kag," He whispered. I quirked an eyebrow up at him."Kageyama,"

I smirked, "What? Do you think he's sexy or something? Hmm?"

"(y/n)-san!" He yelled, "T-thats gross!" 

"Aww, but i think KageHina would be such a cute ship name!" I laughed, half-serious. Hinata's face was distorted in all different ways. "Oh, stop it, go warm up already or you'll get hurt when you play!" I scolded him.

"But Kageyama said that he's gonna use me to throw at Oikawa when he serves!"

Kageyama looked over at us. "I was sorta kidding!"

"S-sorta?" I sighed at them, and grabbed Hinata's shirt, pulling him onto the court. 

"Iwa-chan, shhh!" I heard oikawa exclaim.

"You should be focusing on your sets!" The 'Iwa-chan' boy told him, "Instead of gawking over the other team's assistant manager!" 

Oikawa turned around to look at me, then turned back when he saw my red face staring back at him. In an instant, Yu and Ryu were standing in front of me giving all of Aoba Johsai death stares., their captain Oikawa especially. 

"Hey punk! No one says that about our (y/n)!" Ryu yelled across the court.

"Yea! And you're not anywhere close to being good enough for (y/n)!" Added Yu.

Oikawa turned to us. I peeked over the pair of my friends' shoulders n front of me to see his reaction. He had a sly smirk on his face.

"Who are you to decide that?" He asked, calmer than I expected. "Isn't that up to (y/n)?"

Ryu gasped and looked at Yu, "How does he know (y/n)'s first name?"

"Hey idiots, you just told him." I tried to point out their stupidity right now, but I was blatantly ignored. Ryu and Yu smiled at each other, and Yu threw his fist into his palm. Before they could move any closer to their current target, I managed to bust through their beefy bodies and jump in front of these two idiots who were my friends. "Please don't do this right now! You're just embarrassing me." 

The clueless dorks looked at me. "B=but, we're just protecting you from that self-absorbed -"

"...fangirl loving-"

"...egotistic-"

"...fancy-haired-"

"...son of a-"

"Okay! I get it! But don't fight him, you idiots, I glanced around the gym. Everyone was looking at us now.

In the awkward silence, I heard Oikawa whisper, "See that Iwa-chan? She likes me!"

My friends lunged forward but I forced them back. I scoffed at him, "As if," I mumbled.

hhhhooolllllyyyyy pickles i havent updated in a lng time *criesss* i am so sorry honestly. I honestly dont have a good excuse excpet that im lazy, and for that um ashamed. i have 11 more days of school left though, in summer ill update ALL THE TIME (i hope)

can we just talk about how many times (y/n) probably calls tanaka and noya "idiots/dorks" in one day? also i may start using "tanaka and noya" instead of "ryu and yu" just because its whats used in the anime and i, as well as most people are more familiar with it. so if you see that change, yes i know i did the thang and the thanggg
