A Shoulder to Lean on ~ Story 2~ Part 1
{This one's quite long ~ Sorry in advance}
You were both opposites. From completely different worlds. And though they say opposites attract, you didn't believe it even slightly.
You were an antisocial, serious nerd who could only ever feel hate. You didn't have any friends and you wanted to keep it that way.
It was a different story for him though.
Amamiya Akito was a popular rich kid. Kind, friendly and "perfect" in almost every possible way; except for his grades. But being rich made up for it.
You would silently watch as people huddled around him like he was some new site to see. All the time your hate growing greater and greater and greater.
---------------
You left your empty house murmuring a "goodbye" to no one. You were an orphan, well actually abandoned. At the age of just 7 you were left alone to pay and support yourself. Now here you were, at the age of 14, living in a small apartment still bubbling and boiling with hate.
When you got to school, you chucked your bag underneath the desk and practically slammed yourself into your chair, resting your head on the desk, complaining about the most stupidest of things that frustrated you.
You enjoyed the calm and quiet so usually got to school early and relaxed a while.
Until he and his fans arrived.
The room would suddenly burst into life, and the noise would dramatically change from none to enough to stop you from hearing your own thoughts.
You'd bang your head on the table and clutch your ears, trying to drone out the noise but to no avail.
No one dared to greet you in the morning which made you happy. People were mostly afraid of you and didn't want to come into any sort of contact with you.
You couldn't care less.
When the class had to pick partners you were ,luckily, always made to work on your own. But for some reason this day you would not be so lucky.
"Alright today we will be working on a project in pairs...." The teacher paused as the class filled up with whispers as people were quietly signalling who they wanted to be with.
"Now before we rush ahead I have unfortunate news. You will not be picking your partners. I will pick random names from a hat and well you can guess what happens next!" She smirked shaking the pieces of paper about in a tatty old top hat.
'Shit!' Was all you thought 'Shit! shit! shit! What am I supposed to do now?!'
You waited in anxiousness as the names were being pulled out of the hat. Your fists were clenched and you could feel the sweat dripping from your forehead.
"(L/n Y/n)..." She began and your eyes widened in horror when she continued to say "you will be partnered with Amamiya Akito." You felt like puking.
Why of all people did it have to be him?!
He started walking towards you while smiling. He sat next to you.
Awkward silence.
You could feel his awkwardness as he thought of what to say. In the end he said.
"So you're (y/n)-chan? I've never actually talked to you before. You've always been cooped up alone." You looked at him as if to say 'so what?'
"Why?" He questioned after some consideration of whether to ask or not.
"I've always been alone. I guess I just learnt to like it and it became a habit." You replied with an expressionless face.
He looked at you for a while trying to process everything you said.
"How can you possibly like being alone? That's just crazy!" He exclaimed.
"Well I guess I'm crazy then. Listen. Let's just drop this subject." You mumbled starting to feel annoyed. He pouted but then nodded so as to not anger you any more.
The day went by as normal after that. He didn't talk to you during any lessons or breaks (which you were over the moon about). In fact it was like you and Akito had never talked at all.
Until home time that is.
"Let's go to your house (y/n)-chan!" You realised he was following you home.
"Why on earth would I let you into my house?!" You almost yelled.
"For our project duh!" He said and suddenly you felt stupid. You muttered a curse to him under your breath and after that you ended up walking back in silence.
When you reached your house you opened the creaky door and went in. He followed cautiously and then you remembered.
He was rich.
He probably wasn't used to seeing houses of such "low" standard. You were still silent as you both walked to your room. He looked in shock at the state of your room. It resembled a pigsty. Books and paper was scattered everywhere across the floor. Your desk was so full you could barely see the wooden frame of the desk itself.
"Whoa. What a room!" He finally gasped. You looked at him with the death glare. He'd probably never seen such a messy room thanks to his maids but that didn't mean he could insult your's.
"Your parents let you keep your room like this?! If this was my room my parents would go mad! I'd have to clean straight away!" He exclaimed as if he was amazed which for some odd reason he was.
"My parents couldn't care less. They aren't with me..." His eyes widened in surprise and pity.
"I...I didn't realise. I'm so sorry (y/n)" he said his tone soft. You wanted to cry but held it back. You hadn't cried once in the 7 years you were alone so you aren't going to now.
"They're not dead. I'm abandoned. That's why I live such a crappy life. I make my own money and take nothing from anyone else." You said darkly, cringing at the memory before stomping to your cupboard and pulling out the stuff you and Akito needed for your project.
"Let's just shut up and get started on the more important stuff." You almost shouted. This was no good, you were taking out your anger on him, what will he say to everyone else?. Not wanting to hurt you any further he nodded and you both began working on the project.
'Good no more questions' you thought.
