Nora Naciamento and Rita Naciamento are one and the same. They are the personification of North Brazil. Rita is the lighter and more angelic persona, while Nora is the darker and more demonic persona. They are enemies now but back in the past, the bond they shared with each other was like strong; like that of sisters. So much so that they called each other sisters. But before they were ever called North Brazil, they were known as the Mayan Empire. Rita Naciamento was taken in by *Quetzalcoatl and the Mayan Gods of Life however the same couldn't be said for Nora Naciamento. Nora remained on earth and stood there watching Quetzalcoatl raise her angelic reflection up into the heavens. But before Nora saw her reflection disappear into the heavens, she heard Rita cry out her name; then she was gone.

~~Nora's POV~~

"Sister Nora!! Sister Nora!!" cried Rita as she was being carted off to the heavens. I took a good look at her sister's face and saw that she was in tears and afraid. I raised my hand up into the sky as I ran, hoping that I could just grab her hand to hug her. But I was not blessed by the Gods to receive that gift. "Sister Nora!!!" she cried again as the opening to the heavens closed; cutting me apart from my sister, Rita. I fell to my knees, still looking up into the heavens, and began to weep. She was gone and now I am alone.

~~Narrator's POV~~

As Nora wept, the earth beside her was ripped open, startling her from her mourning and forcing her to get up and jump away. From the depths of the dark abyss arose the head God of the underworld, Ah Puch*. He looked at the frightened girl with a sinister smirk on his face. He knelt down to be on her eye level and spoke to her. "Come with me, my daughter. I'll take us home." he said with a tenor like voice as he held out his hand to Nora. Nora looked at the devine deity and she accepted his hand. He then picked her up and carried her as he walked back to the abyss and descended. Nora Naciamento's fate was that she was to be taken in by the Mayan Gods of Death.

The once close sisters, have now been separated by their different fates. Their fates are forever linked, but the bond they once had will be changed forever. This is where our story begins...
