Chapter 3
Tammy's POV
Matchmaking. It's tough work. For one, me and Connor are now working together to get Kris and Xavier to fall in love with Joseph, and my parents are attempting to get Will and their friend Julia and Thomas' kid, Kyle, together, even if they're just children. Speaking off which, Will is a complete cinnamon roll of a child. He isn't a brat at all and loves to be around people. He's smiles a lot too.
But back to matchmaking. Kris, Xavier, Joseph. Joseph was still denying his sexuality, so Connor and I arranged a meet-up with all our friends. Katelyn was pretty reluctant to the idea, but Lexi managed to drag her into it.
Once we were there, Connor made the announcement. "We've brought you all here to discuss adding my twin brother here to our group." "Why should we?" Katelyn asked immediately. I stared at her. "Because he needs friends that aren't his sibling and sibling's significant other," I answered. "I'm always open to more people to admire," Kris replied, looking up at Joseph seriously. Joseph started fiddling with his thumbs, looking away from him.
I grinned and elbowed Joseph in the ribs. He gave me a Shut up look then looked at the ground. Xavier joined Kris in the flirtatious banter, "Our group already has a lot of cute people, what's one more added going to do?" Joseph's face went red and he said, "Connor, thanks, but I don't really want to be in your group." His twin looked up at him, confused. "Why not?" he asked. Joseph pulled us both aside. "Because you two are right. I'm... I think I'm gay... And Xavier and Kris are really cute and flirty and it throws me off guard and-" "Well, they both think you're cute, and what would be so wrong about being in a polyamorous relationship?" I asked. Joseph started stuttering, but we cut him off. "C'mon, pleeeaaaase?" we begged. "Fine! I'll join your group!" he gave in.
The next day, we were joined at the lunch table by Joseph. We smiled at him and he smiled back sheepishly. Kris and Xavier looked at each other and grinned. "So, Joseph... If you're gonna be in the group, there's some things you have to do," Lexi announced. "So, it's like a cult?" Joseph asked jokingly. Laughs from everyone except Katelyn. "So why do you guys get to add someone to the group for no proper reason?" she asked. "Katelyn..." Kris warned. "What?" she snapped back. "Can we talk in private, guys?" Kris asked. We nodded as he kissed Xavier on the cheek, got up, and dragged his sister away.
We spoke little after they left. "Xavier..." Joseph started, saying his name carefully and gently. Xavier looked up questioningly. "Um... H-how long have you and Kris been together?" he asked shyly. I hadn't seen him this shy and closed off since.. ever. "Two months," Xavier answered. He looked at me with a smile and mouthed He's so cute. I shrugged. Kris walked back to our table alone. He sighed and leaned on Xavier's shoulder. "Katelyn's leaving the group. She doesn't want to be here with someone new. She just... can't handle change," he said. Xavier kissed his forehead. "That's total bs. I'm gonna go find her," Lexi said. She got up and walked out the cafeteria. That left the five of us. I figured we needed to give the future lovebirds space. "Connor, can we talk?" I said. He looked at me in surprise. "We're leaving Joseph with Xavier and Kris. Come on," I whispered to him and he followed me obediently.
Joseph's POV
They left me with my crushes. Great. Fun. Amazing. I just looked at my hands until Kris spoke, "It's cute when you're flustered." My face heated up and I muttered, "I'm not cute." "You totally are, Joseph," hearing Xavier say my name sent chills down my back. I took a deep breath and exhaled before: "Doyoutwowannagooutwithme?" I asked hurriedly. Kris smirked. " What was that? " he asked. "I'm asking you out. Both of you," I said, trailing off. They both smiled and nodded.
Tammy and Connor ran back to the table. "That is adorable!" Tammy exclaimed. "Y-You were watching??" I asked. Connor nodded. I felt myself go pale. "Oh God..." "What?" Connor asked. "I'm gonna have to tell Mom and Dad about this," I said, feeling sick to my stomach. "They're not gonna care that you're gay," Tammy remarked. "I'm more worried about them knowing I have two boyfriends instead of one," I choked out. The thought terrified me. Coming out. I never thought I would have to, but...
I will have to.
And probably soon.
